Best thing I’ve learned with the razor is to download and print the service manual. If you can turn wrenched and follow instructions. You will be pulling the entire motor FYI ! To detach and service the tranny! My manual does not include specific part #s for each gear although
Is the output shaft supposed to be stiff ? I had to change the housing as the tab for engine stud broke off casing .. I changed bearings and seals but left the shims the same alone . I'm assuming since you used a torque tool when you turn it it must have some stiffness to it
really nice video. I had to turn the music off as I am 70 years old. What was the torque reading to spin the gears when you installed the cover the last time?
Just finished rebuilding mine! Your a lot faster at it than I was I must say! My only problem is that my main gear case with the output shaft seems extremely hard to turn? After repeatedly watching your video I’m finally realizing that you first torqued the cover down without the gasket sealer to set the bearings and then gasket sealer? I don’t know what the name of that torque wrench is but that must be a necessary tool to do this correctly! I don’t want to put this thing all back to get her now with out knowing those shafts are gonna spin
As per the procedure in the manual. You assemble and you’re the box then check the rolling torque. If the rolling torque is out then you have to disassemble the case and use different shims. If your output shat is stif to turn then your shining is probably out. Not a 100% answer but a place to start. Good luck
Really interested in the shimming process with the turning torque.I dont see that info in the manual anywhere, so where did you get it? Did you have to change out your shims or not. Its a great video for sure but i need the extra detail of info.
Hi, I have the same problem as there are no shims in my transmission between the bearing cup and the cover of the Transfer case. The shims are shown in the service manual but it's not shown how to measure or select the shims. Did you find a solution? In the video there seems to be only the bearing cup in the cover but I'm not sure and this could lead to an expensive failure.
I know this is old but you missed the second Retaining Clip/Ring @ 6:12 (for others watching). One goes on each side of that gear. Part number is 3234547
Jake Faryna all seals and bearing need to be perched separately from the dealer. Ordering the bearing can be done in the aftermarket and also give you the opportunity to upgrade to better one as well
