Nick, lol, I don’t know man. I was just in the backwoods of WV riding the Hatfield McCoy trail system this past weekend and there were many times I was glad I had my smaller rig. It got real narrow with tight switchbacks!
I didn't watch the entire video but I didn't hear you talk about upgrading the axles. A tune, tires, extended fender flares, full doors, harnesses and upgraded heavy duty axles would be my first upgrades for sure. I've seen so many people snap stock axles especially during steep rocky hill climbing. Even with stock size tires too.
Hey brother thanks a lot for your input and we agree that machine capability upgrades need to be 1st on the list. We learned a bunch from this RZR and can't wait to get another.
Great video or you realize that you posted this quite a while ago, to be honest, the first thing that I did to my RZR was a Dalton clutch! I went with the mud Kit that does the secondary as well! I got some pretty heavy tires on it 10 ply no bullshit tires! I know people talk about the light tires maybe a five or six ply but I Telya the first time you get a stick go through your sidewalk because you’re thinking about light you will realize that I heavier tire is the way to go! I live on the west coast of British Columbia. We get some really sharp rocks! I also noticed that you do not carry a spare or Jack for that matter? You would hate the West Coast! I personally do agree with you about the tuner, because that was another first upgrade with a dual exhaust kit! My 900 is way faster than 1000cc I only have the 50 inch 900 trail fox edition. I personally find the 60 inch too wide! I’m not sure how you guys get through the 50 inch forestry gates? Love your unit but I do agree that a lot of the stuff you put on was just for vanity not for function! Every upgrade I’ve done to mine has been for function over vanity! Wish I could show you a picture! I also upgraded to the Polaris harnesses that are retractable they were worth the money! I had the BRP and I just don’t like how confined you are! I really like that you can move around with the retractable harnesses! The one upgrade I would recommend to anyone is the assault removable steering wheel kit!! it doesn’t just make it easier to get in and out of the vehicle. The one thing it does add is security! It’s well worth the money! I personally would put my money into a cheaper set of mirrors, other than the assault! They look cool, but are they? I can get a set for $35 on Amazon. If I break them I buy another set! They look just as cool! Another upgrade that I would recommend to anyone is the AGM manual Jack!!! It’s expensive, but it is the best upgrade I have ever done!!!! I cannot stress that enough! I also added the gnarly spare tire rack thing is a beast! Pretty lightweight as well! You can still put a tool kit in the back and have full assessability! I do love your roof over the aluminum counter part which I bought and I wish I went with the plastic! Other than that, I love your unit and great videos by the way, I’m a fan!!! Cheers from the west coast of Canada 🍻
Them tires are fine bro. Tune up the engine and definitely get some skid plates on your a arms. But that's just my opinion. Very very nice rig you have brother. Yeah I love the seats. Nice job. Have fun hope I see you out there. God bless.
Thank you friend! Since this episode, we have already rebuilt the entire rig with new wheels and tires, tune, etc. Thanks for watching and thank you for the positive vibes! God bless you too!
I was racing 1/4 mile in my 1000S stock on 29" wheels no clutching, a cocky dude in tuned 900S, he got and intake, ecu tune and original size tires (27). I won by about 5 sec so it's not worh it and ecu won't make 900 even close to the 1000 tbh. I wonder how much more I would destroy him with clutching and tune.
One thing I highly recommend is the alba timing chain tensioner, my 900 jumped time by about 2 teeth last weekend and I heard this is a reoccurring issue with these machines. Great video man, thanks for sharing!!!!
@@RZRDREAMS I'm new to the SxS world but I'm sure I'll have some videos soon haha.. I've been going nuts on 3d printing, painting, powder coating and more haha
@@RZRDREAMS Your car is sweet, I like pro armor products, wrap is very nice. Not that it matters, My Top 10 mods I'd do (not in order) #1. Tuning for Turbo's #2. Eibach spring upgrade and then tuning by Shock Therapy.....or Long Travel kit by HCR #3. 4 Point Harness #4. Clutch Kit #5. aFe Air Filter (not K&N) #6. LED Lighting #7. Stereo & Coms #8. Front Window #9. Full 3/8 Skid Plate #10. Cage Upgrade +1. 32" Tires & Wheels with tire spare mount
Don Billings nice, I’m digging it for sure man. Cody just tuned his 900 and also did a clutch upgrade. We’re going to test it out this weekend at Carolina Adventure World. Can’t wait!
It's about 12" wide. What makes it special is that it is angled just like a vehicle's rear view mirror which means it gives you a perfect straight back view.
David haha, I hear you my friend. Upgrades aren’t as easy as they appear to be. Got to take your time and put in the research to ensure you’re using quality products!
My opinion you spent way to much on a “name” for led pods door bags and rear view mirror if you wouldof done a more budget friendly on those you couldof spent the money you saved on a decent stereo and maybe even a decent set of tires for your stock wheels
Glenn, dude tell me about it! I wish I had a much better sound system and wheels/tires. That’s why I made the video to prevent others from making these same mistakes. Thanks for tuning in and thanks for the feedback!!
Yes sir even tho the wrap cost and is only for looks I must agree I wouldof done the same with it tho it stands out makes yours look way better then a stock bike I say money well spent there
Hello and thank you for tuning in. We acknowledge the feedback and appreciate your straightforwardness. Here are the cliff notes for this video: two most important and impactful upgrades are wheels/tires and a solid aftermarket cage. Don’t spend a lot of money on things you won’t use much like LEDs and bumpers (based on how you ride). Also, the seats that come with the RZRs are actually really nice and they drain much better than a lot out there so our advice would be to keep them. A wrap looks cool, but there are much cheaper options than ordering a custom one. Be careful when purchasing mirrors; a lot of side mirrors look good but are basically worthless; get convex-type mirrors if possible. Finally, talk to your co-pilot (as applicable) about the upgrades you want to do. They may be able help you realize upgrades that will be useful versus ones that won’t. Again, thanks for watching. We hope you come back!

I had patience to listen to this hole vid from start to finish. Thx for all your points, opinion and options I liked all of it. Nice assualt side mirrors btw
Chapster haha, I’m glad you enjoyed. I know it was rough. I watched it myself the other day because I’m getting ready to do a part 2 to this and it was rough. Thanks bud!
Better service customers by telling them they cant make the wrap? Because.....their machine is now too good....or something? Sounds fucking retarded, or its just a BS excuse to NOT service the customer after they already have his money.
Like I get you're trying to draw your video out so you make more money or some crap. In the long run you're sacrificing all your views. The first 10 minutes of that video makes me want to jab my eyes out with a fork
Sweet ride! You’re way too hard on yourself and overthinking things. Only thing I would suggest is a front bumper to protect the front end of your buggy. And to hell with all the haters on here! 🇺🇸✊
not on here much , dont post much , but ,, im really happy with my new perspective , look at me,, idea ,, doesnt work 4 me .. rather ,, you look at me when my shit works,, shredds, lasts . kicks ass ,, with my ass in the seat ,, rather than look at me in the lot,, or on trailer ,, or garage,,, look at me .... ,,,
juan mesta hey bud! Yes I have seen them and have watched videos on them. We actually went to a show with them and they were good folks. I’ll be looking more a those tunes in the near future. Thanks for checking in!
PewTube Addict haha! I thought I was going to get away with this but nope. Okay, so the rock lights are a sure bet! They cost me about $125, are the Polaris brand lights, and took me about 4 hours to install because I had to remove the center cover over the drive shaft to the front of the RZR. They turned out great and I would do it again over and over. Thanks for chiming in bud!
@@hottubsgalore good for you. A friend i ride with beats the stuffing out of his. Runs it into the salf water surf. Looks for the softest mud to run thru. Never washes it. On a hot dry day every bump he hits dirt and dust falls off him. I dont think he has ever changed his oil. The plastic is busted up. Frames bent along with two wheels are bent so rolling along the entire wildcat kinda undulates side to side from the wheels. Sounds like you and Raymond would make good ridding buddies since he always asks me how many hours washing mine so far. He was at utv takeover oregon... he was one of the night ride buggies to tumble end over end in the video. Used a come along to bend his frame back and a new axle, suspension a arm and a new tie rod later. He admits he needs new wheels. I think he is looking to sell that wild cat. You should buy it from him!
You ever thinking about upgrading your springs? Also look at RVS for a tune man, be glad to let you drive my unit since it has the stage 1 tune and rt pro springs
Freddy Hernandez yes, I have thought about going with something like Shock Therapy but I have been very happy with the springs. They do a good job and it’s rare when I bottom out. I haven’t heard of RVS, I’ll definitely have to give it a look! Thanks for the offer, where you located?
Youngsville NC, I follow you on IG lifted_lowlife. I'm going to be upgrading to either bandit or elka so I'll be putting my RT pro dual rate spring kit for sale
Nice informative video. Polaris accessories are damn expensive! I installed soft top and rear window made by Deuce USA... I trail my Trail 900 alot so I needed something that could be removed as quickly as possible. The top and rear are made in Wisconsin. Nice fit. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and video!
Hey man, just watching your video and noticed that your belts are wrapped around the harness bar wrong. If you have a hard impact or rollover with them routed through the buckle the way they are in this video they will pull right out and you could get hurt. I don’t like to tell people their business, but people have gotten hurt bad from belts wrapped wrong. Please, for your safety, google it and learn how to fix it.
Jeremy, wow I didn't know. I am going to look into this for sure and see what's going on. Good thing I have my rig completely torn apart as I am rebuilding this RZR in my garage now. Thank you very much for the insight and advice. Much appreciated!
RZR_DREAMS I sent a picture to you on Facebook messenger. I’m not trying to be a know it all, but when it comes down to safety we gotta help each other out.
Nope... Wrong.... Only a 1000 runs like a 1000. I see guys with the 900 tuned and they still regret not buying a 1000. Cant match 1000 power. All the tunes in the world aren't gonna let your bike run like a 1000. Especially if the 1000 is tuned.
Brother, it was worth it. The mirror is solid steel and it doesn't move. It's also exactly like an OEM mirror in that it's angled to appropriately capture the entire rear of the rzr.
They make a special sub woofer that fits in the glove box or you can download an equalizer app for your phone that will boost your sound also. Had to do it for mine.
There are mixed reviews about the glove-box subwoofer when it comes to actual field us. Most will tell you to add an external subwoofer. Thank you for the mention!
Did you do upgrade on rear and front suspension, is it stock? I have a RZR 2015 900 eps 4, would it be worth the money to upgrade suspension, tune engine up grade clutch and maybe new exhaust, or am I just throwing money away? I'm looking at either upgrading or just buying another car, the 900 is paid for.
Hi James! This question would be a lot easier to answer if there wasn’t such a terrible market for SxS’s these days. It will be easier for you to build the ride you want right now but it will still have its limits. Our advice is to do some serious studying up and seeing what’s out there to buy and where. Start by calling Jonsey at Interstate 69 Motorsports in Tennessee. He’s a good friend of ours. Also consider ATV Trader.com. You can throw all the money you wan at that 900 but it will never ride like a 1000, turbo, or any other SxS you’re dreaming of!
@@RZRDREAMS Thank you, I just got hooked up with Micky Cohen motor sports racing and have an appointment, it's gonna be one kick ass 900 after he's done.
Good vid and solid advice. The west coast isn't all desert. Xp turbo owner. First upgrades here should be harness, cage upgrade, winch, skid plate, bigger tires, higher clearance suspension. Rocks, tree roots, rocks, mud n fun
Career retired Boomer here. Nice videos. I’m going with the 900S or 1000S next spring. I live in Maine so the S just makes sense. I do have a question. Did you get the 4” drop kit or 5” kit? These are the two kits listed. Also, does the rear window opening maintain the factory dimensions or did you have to modify the rear window to fit? Sorry for all the questions.Thanks. Jay
Jay Ellingsen hi friend! Thanks for the feedback. As far as the drops go I went with the 5”, made a whole video on it if you want to watch that. It will not maintain the same rear cage dimensions.
Jay Ellingsen if I remember it’s actually nearly a 7” drop after measurements but I’m 5’ 8” and I fit perfectly fine inside with my helmet. No issues. My video will give you measurements; 100% bolt-on.
you voided all warranties by these upgrades. just saying. That rap remimds me of an old pinball machine feom the 80s. just saying. Dude, the s only has y0 “ wheelbase,1000 64”. I just took delivery my new 2019 xp 1000 black pearl. Get the real thing dont add on also the shock travel is longer.
Hey friend, it's supposed to look like an 80s car. Btw, we've driven all the RZRs, there isn't much my S900 can't do that all the others can. It's all about personal preference. Thanks for watching.
I got a 21 rzr 1000 xp one big ride no mud riden around 25 an it's already showing check engine and a light with a steering wheel with a ! Speedometer doesn't work no idea what's wrong with it yet so b warned the new rzrs may not b as tough as the old ones.
Cage, tires, suspension, medical equipment, radios, a gps beacon, and winch with snatch blocks...those are the things serious players need to consider...maybe even in that order; not buying enough armor all to shine your tires.
Aftermarket assassins... 400$ for the tune and tuner... amazing i work for Polaris in osceola Wisconsin building the drivetrain for Polaris snow ATV SxS and Indian motorcycles.. aftermarket assassins is in osceola also and they are great! Try that tune my 900 woke up with that tuner..
That's what i paid 429 i think with tax.. makes like 16 more hp for 75 to around 91-93 give them a call aftermarket assassins in osceola Wisconsin look them up.. then you can do a ne video with before tunev and after... it's a big difference changes the temps thrr fan cones on the rev limiter and shift points fuel map governor... and more... way worth the money.. the first thing i installed after break in...
Why did you not buy the "canned" tunes?????.....the same reason you bought a 900 instead of a 1000 or an XPT.......in the gun world you are what are commonly called a "case queen" collector.....you really do not use the "tool" for what is actually designed for.....but, it is your funds to spend...... :-)
When i heard you say you bought then sanded down the front grill to match your colors i was ok. BUT then you said it was starting to rust so you gave the product a thumbs down. Maybe it was your paint job not the product. Stopped watching right there. BTW all show and no go, that ride would not last long on trails around here. Plates and bumpers unless you feel stickers will stop rocks and branches.
I hear you. The grill rusted before my paint job. That’s why I painted it. Cody has the same grill and his has rusted too. We don’t buy assault products anymore. Same thing happened to our steering wheels. This RZR has been ridden in places from the NM desert, to the mountains in TN and the east coast of NC. My ride has the scars to prove it bud. Say what you will but we ride hard. We also take very good care of our machines so if it doesn’t look like junk that just means we respect the things we own.
Really unfortunate the rzr scene is turning into the next Honda Civic smh everyone remember lights and stickers do not get you any farther down the trail or protect your machine. Think of these things and safety when making your first few modifications.
Thanks for sharing the information and your best practices. I just purchased a 2021 Polaris RZR 1000 XP4 and was considering in purchasing the BOSS soundbar. Please share more information & detailson the "sound cannons" you mentioned in your video?
Hi there, I did a full 6-part series when I rebuilt this machine 2019. One of the videos was on the entire custom stereo I installed. It's called "RZR S900 Rebuild: Part 5".
I clicked on the video and immediately recognized the SJ base housing! I lived there too. Retired back in 2013 from the 333d AMU. Took my 500 Sportsman to Busco. That place is awesome!
Cold well, you can say what you want; it’s why we serve. We’re combat tested, with multiple deployments and the scars to prove it. Take care my friend.
air force combat tested lol you shoot one magazine in basic then never touch a rifle again until deployment time but then you only qualify with it. your a funny guy.
Have a 2018 Rzr S 900 with highlifter high clearance rear a-arms that rake back 1.5", 30" carnivore tires on ITP Huricane 4/3 wheels, Bandit dual rate springs all the way around, super atv clutch kit and stage 1 tune.........love it.....Runs great! We hit WV regularly....sometimes Busco too. Oh yeah...and a heavy duty ceramic belt......got some other additions too but the above mentioned are the best. Good video! You need matching yellow bumpers....everything I got is matching black/blue/white.
If those tires have done everything you claim, and show almost no wear, the problem is your tires suck. Moreover, the fact that you don't know this...you have no business spouting off and potentially misleading others. Example: one of the most important upgrades is with your front and rear sway bars and kits. Something like...Shock Therapy's...stuff will make night and day difference on the handling...issues involving weight shift. This upgrade deals with the control of your vehicle...keep it traveling as flat as possible...and preventing flips; causing damage and injuries. On the other hand...your shit is shinny...and people need to focus...you have too much interests in how your UTV looks as opposed to how it handles, and what its capable of doing.
Along with adding true dual coil springs, and then having them set up so your as end does not try and flip you over if you have don something to reduce weight shift. Everyone needs to be caring first aid and or trauma kits...just in case...and radios or emergency beacons that work off satellites. I have an old aviation radio permanently mounted in my buggy...if all else failed...I can talk to pilots who can help get EMS too me.
Hey thanks man! After a long weekend of muddy riding it can take as long as about 5-6 hours to detail it if you do it right. But if you're just out for a day of dusty riding it's only about a 1 hour job. Not too bad it's all in your personal preference and we use top of the line cleaners such as Chemical Guys foam cannons, SC1 after cleaner and Armor All tire dressing.
