There's so many little details I can't get over but my top tier favourite bits are the neat little twirling animation and the bit after voguing where they smile at each other. Bless these siblings. This slaps.
@@gianinnakarla I fear I'm pretty late to this but, I suppose its to resemble a goat's pupil, considering the satanic symbolism of ellsee (I'm pretty sure someone told me that and now that I think abt it :o )
Vast Error has all the advantages of an aged Homestuck that's hit its stride and knows what it's doing. The first bits of the comic wobble in the same way Homestuck does, but it really is quickly cured and it really does feel like a second Homestuck for the kids who grew up looking to Homestuck for support. I honestly prefer this to the epilogues and Homestuck^2.
ngl, i wanna kid myself and say that all the vast error content makes me want to get in the loop and thats why im reading it, but in all honesty i saw this video a couple months ago, found it fucking hilarious, and now im reading it.
Ok everyone this is cute and all But can we all agree that if taz had started dancing, and her server player had followed, continuing until everyone was dancing, would be perfect What I'm saying is Dance party pls
you fucker i bet you are a great person that people love you. god fucking dammit you fuckboi. jesus i bet you're an amazing person to be around. ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
I remember seeing Vast Error about a year ago and I didn’t give it too thought, but this one flash just made me super interested. And the music is just fuckin stellar, I’m going to give it a listen on the bandcamp and probably buy all of the albums. Edit: All the music is free so sweet and I already like Volume 1. Edit #2: I have officially come full circle, I love this comic so muuuuuch!!!!
Man, I'm just obsessed with this animatic. I was never into homestuck but the music and the animatic just work so well together and I just can't get over it. I think my favourite part is the spin from where the one character becomes the other. It's just so cool and makes me really happy. Good job man
I can't stop watching this. I'm at the introductory stage but this is distracting me from continuing. There's a perfect duality with these two. Her moves are expressive and fluid; his moves are reserved and stiff... but they're both having fun.
fr, i wonder if u still come back to watch this but i must be a snake bc the music and the movements are so hypnotic it gets stuck in my head and come back and watch it again at least twice
@@tropiccheekss 1 Nice Kul3dud3/Breezy pfp. RIP Breezy Town. 2 This comic is harder to read than Homestuck. People keep telling me it gets better but the intro is dragging ooon!
@@jengadenga3165 1. that is not a flash animation style. 2. Even in the style of panels, there is a fair bit of variation in them. 3. said variation in style, of multiple media stacked together, paint stacked in front of photo editing, different artists, purposely downgraded quality, the same pose used in different situations almost like a motif, It's just so iconic that Vast Error could never. Lmao.
@@aflooki Isabel Garcia ok mayb i sounded to agressive? But just because the panels and flashes are two different things dosent mean that they dont have similar art styles. I guess if i had to quote what art style it would be, it would be called "expresive wonderbread" lol
I just wanted to say that this was my first ever exposure to Homestuck. Today, I've read the entire story, and started reading Vast Error. Thank you very much for the weird, confusing, and incredible journey that was Homestuck. It will stay with me forever.
Gosh, I truly love this project with my whole heart! This music sure is a bop (even arjec dances to it =0) aehufhsoef thank you guys for all of this,,,
For the record, it took me 19 hours, 48 minutes, and around 27 seconds to binge watch everything, and I have to say that being met with this; was totally worth it. Keep up the outstanding work!
This is an animation for the multimedia webcomic Vast Error (mspfa.com/?s=2302&p=1). It uses the song Blood Right (vasterror.bandcamp.com/track/blood-right) by psithurist, which is from Vast Error's own music team (vasterror.bandcamp.com/) but samples The Sweet Science by the band Vulfpeck. Vast Error is a fan work of the multimedia webcomic Homestuck (www.homestuck.com/). It has an original plot and set of characters, but is heavily inspired by Homestuck's own and definitely wouldn't exist without it. Homestuck is about a group of four kids who are online friends that play the beta test for a new video game called SBURB. The game begins affecting real life, and the kids are forced to flee into the game world to escape a meteor shower. There, they must attempt to beat the game and claim the Ultimate Reward: To create a new universe to rule over as gods. However, the game starts going wildly off the rails, and the kids get contacted by a group of twelve trolls from the planet Alternia in another universe. The trolls claim that they played SBURB, beat it, and created the human universe, but were prevented from entering it by an "indestructible demon"... originating in the future of the human game session. It's really hard to explain much more than that, because Homestuck is *weird*. It's a coming-of-age story, it's a comedy, it's the world's most bizarre creation myth, it regularly parodies itself. I highly recommend you read it. It probably won't be what you expect, but it'll still be great. Homestuck also has its own music team (homestuck.bandcamp.com/music), which is extremely prolific, having released 30 albums. Alright, back to Vast Error. Large parts of Vast Error are reimaginings and subversions of parts of Homestuck. It's a webcomic about a group of twelve trolls, but they're from the planet Repiton, which is quite different from Alternia. They play a game of cosmic proportions, but the game's not SBURB. If they succeed, it promises to revitalize their dying world. Things also seem to be going wildly off the rails, but in completely different ways. There's still plenty of comic left to go. (Homestuck is complete, but this is the second time it's "ended" and it could probably go for a third.) Vast Error is also definitely worth a read, but if you haven't read Homestuck first, you'll probably be fairly confused, since it doesn't spend too much time explaining some of the things it expects you to already know from Homestuck.
@@alexandershea2418 Hey, thanks for writing this! I also have no context and am trying to get into VE/Homestuck. This was helpful, and it was really cool to write all of it because nobody actually made you do so. ^~^
@@dirtydan9785 No problem! I really like explaining things to people, so I sometimes just find myself typing out lengthy things like that. Homestuck is definitely worth a read, the last few acts aren't great (pacing issues and some plotlines that don't get properly resolved) but even they have their moments and mid Act 2 through Act 5 is some of the best stuff I've ever read. It's been a while since I've been up to date on Vast Error, but it's probably the best fan comic out there and I should definitely get around to catching up.
So this animation is what first got me interested in Vast Error honestly. I think I saw Ellsee Enter shortly after without context which made me decide to check it out and after starting and stopping two times, I've finally gone through everything currently out. And I love it. It has what I loved about original Homestuck and more. It can be goofy and insane at times, and other times the characters can have a deep meaningful conversations where they are 3 dimensional. I just love that spin Ellsee does transitioning into Arcjec, it just feels so good.
I feel like that scene from 1:15 to 1:27 would be really cool as like, an animatic meme. I might draw that,,,, this music slaps I can’t stop listening to it lol
no idea what this is but the animation is absolute art and the music is so fire. I especially love the contrast between the two characters dancing and the scene where the girl spins and it transitions to the guy dancing, absolute masterpiece.
or don't read but listen to the homestuck and vast error soundtrack, watch some and animations and other art, I find the story itself kinda boring but there's some really cool things to apreciate
I've literally never heard of this comic but as a Homestuck I couldn't resist and man, I don't know any of these characters but this warmed my heart so much. They do be jammin and so do I
Everytime when RU-vid shows to me this video, i've just standing up and starting dance out from my frustrations, and I feel like someone in the other side is doing it too
This is like a baby sensory video for me in particular, if someone were to put it on loop on a TV i would be completely glued to it. It took me forever to finish writing this comment because i was staring at the video. Amazing and awesome.
Small note, but i appreciate that neither's dancing is singled out as good or bad (at least in the video itself). They are both simply expressing themselves through the art of dance, and not restraining themselves based on ability or type. They wanna dance, so they fuckin dance.
everything about this is so charming! the music itself is catchy and groovy and the art style is really pleasant to look at. the characters are really adorable too and i love ellsee’s outfit :0
I’m still getting into Vast Error - because of this very animatic - but let me say it doesn’t fail to hit hard when you get to it. As important as this is for Ellsee to get herself back on the level and up for her next task, Arcjet has had such a day up until this point that it’s so liberating just when he realizes that’s something he can do. Pushed into taking every moment so seriously and taking everything so personally and having himself babied by some and bullied by others this one moment let’s him think to clear his head about where he really wants to go from here. Even if moments before built up to a real change, I feel like this was the penny drop that Put it all in place.
It's actually Homestuck oh my gosh, I thought this was actually a part of the webcomic and I missed something. Oh my frick it looks identical to the real thing,oh my gosh it's better tham the real thing. This is so good omg?!
Don’t mind me, just making a list of all the times I’ve come here for serotonin :) 1. The sounds make my brain all mooshy :) 2. Someone liked my comment and I came back too see it and now I’m watching it again :) 3. (3 years later) I still like this video
Man I remember seeing this before I read Homestuck I thought it was actually apart of Homestuck like these were the trolls descendants or something which made me think Homestuck was even longer than it actually was but then I found that this was a entrily seperate story of its own and wow I got say this is really good flash and comic :)
this whole semester i've been using almost exclusively this song to study/read for school/write essays. it puts me in a trance and makes me actually able to focus. so thanks for making it
