I bought this figure for like 70$ plus shipping and I was immediately disappointed from how it just feels to move. Articulation is meh and she looks goofy, probably one of my highest regrets on blowing this much money for a mid figure
It's strange to me some of the decisions tamashii nations take when it comes to their different lines of figures. Certain figures are given such poor treatment and then certain characters that don't need extra figures made of them, are made.
Over engineered to hell and back 😂 I’m dying. Great review , this is exactly why I was so hesitant to open and display this figure. Mine is still sealed . Probably going to sell it soon .
For a character who fought Ultra Instincts Goku, I feel like she should've been made wayyy more better, abit bulkier, better articulation, and better proportions.
Yeah the head of the figure does seem oversized and it's more noticeable in person plus the right arm Peg was to thin so the arm popped off too easily so I can barely move it without it popping off and the the two pieces that make up the right wrist split on my copy
Launch and the Bulma with the machine gun are older figures that are a lot better. They have the female molds, but they made a new, worse mold. Also, people don't like U6 saiyans because they didn't earn their transformations. I hate both the kale and caulifla, but Cabba has some potential. I bought this figure and it is now in a display with base gogeta kneeing her. It SUCKS.
For your question. I don't really care for the character that much. I think it was a way for Toriyama to make female saiyans in canon db lore. Because goku and vegeta and vegeta's little brother was the only pure blooded saiyans around. I like the female saiyans but not so much the figures. They aren't great but not bad. At least to me anyway.
I definitely don't understand the IMMENSE hate she gets, I can understand why you wouldn't like her, but to call her the "worst" is really pushing it imo. I get that she definitely got too strong too fast, however EVERYONE during the TOP arc got very strong really fast. The power scaling during that arc was absolutely insane and all over the place. Goku easily took care of Caulifla and Kale once he got used to fighting them and the second he went God, they literally stood no chance. Goku JUST got done fighting Jiren and received a small amount of power from Frieza to be able to fight again, he was so injured that he couldn't move and needed that boost to get back into the fight. Kefla is a fusion character, fusion characters always have massive multipliers and are absurdly strong. Considering they basically made Caulifla a prodigy and Kale is quite literally Broly, it makes sense their fusion would be quite powerful. Now I think Goku, if he WASN'T tired, could've beaten her in just Blue, especially Blue Kaioken. However because he was still really tired from his Jiren fight and because Blue Kaioken drains stamina really fast (as Kaioken always has), that one really powerful kick to the head KO'd him which obviously pushed him into UI, which then Kefla had literally no chance of beating him at that point since she quite literally never could hit him. Are they (Caulifla and Kale) poorly written as a whole? Yes. But are they the absolute worst characters? No. This is an arc were Android 17, the character from the Cell Saga, was able to fight Blue Goku before the TOP started and later was able to at least help in the end with Jiren, doing noticeable damage to him. Everyone was buffed up in terms of power and everyone got stronger during the actual tournament.
Because of them, Super saiyan 1 & 2 were reduced to “a tingly back feeling” when before they were massive milestones that marked a significant point of growth in an individuals character, hell vegeta sold his soul for that transformation. That’s why they’re my least favorite characters
@@AnthonysCustoms While I will agree to that as I already said they don't have the best writing, pretty much most of the cast didn't have great explanations during that arc of why their power increased so much. In the manga version of the TOP arc, Ultimate Gohan actually KO's himself with Kefla which honestly is really dumb for Kefla, as she should've been able to easily handle him. So even in the manga version the writing and power scaling is very inconsistent (which honestly imo, the manga version is significantly worse anyways. It was pretty obvious Toyotaro just wanted to rush through it). Also, this isn't something new to Dragon Ball, Trunks and Goten in the Buu arc with almost little to no training both went Super Saiyan with ease. Now this did cause a problem back in the day with fans, but most people have kinda just gotten over it at this point. The writing for the series since the Buu Saga really has kinda been all over the place.
Yeah, this character is kind of crap. IMO the female character that was with Broly in his recent movie has a lot more potential and could also have a cool SHF released that will hopefully look better than this one.
I remember I said the head is huge when Tamashii Nations revealed her on Instagram and those white knights be like "stop complaining just be grateful bla bla bla like the figure is the best thing ever".
One thing that really bothers me with this figure that I think was missed (or at least glossed over) is that her head isn't just big, it's HEAVY. It literally weighs as much as the whole rest of her body. This makes her very awkward to stand, pose, or even really handle unless you are holding her by the head the whole time. Even more annoying, when I tried to get her head off to weigh it, I couldn't do it, even with a hairdryer. The neck came off first. They connected the ball joint to her head extra securely, like w/ SS3 Goku. Meaning, they probably knew her super heavy head would cause some problems, but instead of just making it lighter, they just stuck it on tighter. Honestly, almost every design decision about this figure seems backwards.
I think Jiren was a worse character than Kefla. In my opinion the only new character in Super that was actually good was Hit. I LOVE Beerus but i don't count him cause he's technically a Z character.
Kefla is very overhated. She is FAR from the worst character in the series and I think people are massively overblowing how bad she supposedly is. That said this figure is hot ass lol. And not the good kind of hot ass; the bad kind.
I like Caulifla as a character, and Kefla was basically "Caulifla but super strong" so I don't mind her. But man this figure looked bad from the moment they revealed it. Her head is way too big, and it's honestly stupid that they gave her the default dainty girl body, when she's absolutely ripped in the anime. The effect parts look cool at least.
universe 6 saiyans are very controversial, and for good reason. caulifla/kale/kefla aren't the worst but definitely bad. cabba is better. figure is ok. the accessories sold it for me, I'm a sucker for the effect pieces and this has pretty good ones. figure itself is pretty stinky tho as you say.
I like kefla a lot and I'm not ashamed to admit that that probably is in large part to her being a girl. But this was a REALLY lowsy release. Head too big. Weird faces. And that arm scares me.
I want this figure… but I REALLY like her components (Kale and Caulifla) better. Seriously there’s only ONE Kale figure and I have to get 6 others characters to get her?!
This figure looks goofy and it kinda looks like a cheap figma. I haven't watched super yet but i've read the manga and kefla was meh just like most villains in super. It was kinda cool seeing gohan fight kefla after he became a nerd tho.
Personally I’m not a fan of Keflas power scaling in the anime but I can’t even lie her fight with mui omen Goku is badass, so I kinda think alota people like her because of that too
For me yes all the U6 Saiyans are underdeveloped. Cabba's whole shtick is he's a beta male, trying to become more assertive. Caulifla just loves to fight, and has a short temper. Then there's Kale, whom is just DBZ Movie Broly. Complete with dumb reason for going legendary super saiyan. Finally we get to Kefla AKA Alternate Kale design. Caulifla at least had an interesting, and unique look. Kale showed up in the tournament wearing her yoga clothes. And Kefla basically looks like Kale wearing Caulifla's shoes. At least if they would have done the Fusion Dance then the character could have gotten the baggy white pants in the cool vest.
I don’t mind Kefla, I just think she’s useless. It’s like they created her to bring the Legendary Super Saiyan into Canon…but then just go ahead and bring Broly into canon lol Rendering her moot
Regarding the question: I feel about the same, just feels like asspull after asspull with the characters involved in this fusion, they start off having no idea what super saiyan is, then proceed to jump through forms, fuse and manage to keep up with one of the stronger main characters like nothing? Neat fight and all, though. For me it just felt like something out of a terrible fanfic. I don’t hate the character but I wouldn’t say I’m a huge fan either. The figure looks meh, I love the effects but I’d only be tempted to buy this unless it’s for sale OR if this figure came with a head for each form and a few tweaks to the articulation.
I mean, I get why she could keep up with Goku, she’s a potara fused Super Saiyan 2 and a Legendary Super Saiyan. So yeah, she’s going to rock some nuts. But I felt like her character was not utilized properly. And Saiyans getting Super fast is a known ability that differs per Saiyan. Goten hit it during a sparring match with Gohan with no problem and didn’t have to be fueled by rage. So I can’t make that a mark against Kefla. I just feel like her only purpose was to introduce Legendary Super Saiyan to canon, and then they make that pointless when they make Broly canon lol Toriyama wasn’t sure what to do with her, it appears.
As much as I don’t like Caulifla and Kale I still kinda want all the warriors from Universe 6 I would love to be able to put Universe 7 and 6 teams next to each other.
...Was there anyone who said this character (or the figure were good..?) every toy community I've come across, has said it was middling at best. Most flat-out said it was bad. As far as the character, she was totally throw away, and the best thing she did was make UI Goku look badass when he glided across her beam on a charged-up Kamehameha.
Android 21 is a much more interesting " sexy anime girl" character and I hope she makes an appearance sometime down the road now that they've established she's canon.
Great review! I agree and this is coming from someone who genuinely likes lots of female characters. Many of them have been ruined especially in modern times for various reasons. This character should've been so much better since db doesn't have many female fighters. I also don't understand the strange proportions on many modern female anime characters either, they don't make them look like adults anymore but instead aim to make them look like little girls and teenagers. It's just weird
I don't know how this character is personality wise, but... Goog god is it a lame design. It's as if someone made a Dragon Ball MMORPG and you kept a completely unmodified base female character.
When this figure was first announced I was hyped and wanted 2... so frikin glad I only bought 1 cause this fifure was such a disappointment. Heads to big, arms fall of too easily, legs don't have enough range it was just a huge let down...
I don't mind Kefla or Caulifla and Kale but I'm not a fan either. I do like their character designs but their actual characters don't have that much going on. It's just some friendship stuff from what I can remember.
If you mean Dragon ball as whole, the original dragon ball anime and dragon ball z are good. However Z has a lot of filler and stretches itself out. Dragonball Kai is a better version of DBZ with cut filler and better dialogue for the dub. Voice acting is a preference thing but I prefer Kai overall. The manga is also a good choice. As for the sequels, GT and Super have their moments but they’re mostly skippable. If you watch DB and want more you might like either or both but they’re hit or miss
@@yorknew423 Watched a DB Super movie, which I think are episodes. Was weird. Everyone is everyone else's father. Animation was on par. I guess this is similar to a Marvel comics "What if?"
Went from the legendary super saiyan broly killing his father by squeezing him in a capsule to whatever kefla is and a tingling sensation to turn super saiyan
"Other figure you own and might feel bad about" made me laugh out loud. Nice one. I've seen all Dragonball up to about halfway through season 2 of Super, so haven't gotten to Kefla yet. She looks neat though I guess.
I also don’t like this character and I think people only like her because she’s the first female saiyan to go super saiyan. Then again, I think most of Super’s characters suck, especially Jiren.
Kefla got completely plunked out by Goku immediately and has a super boring personality compared to Caulifla and is nowhere near as cool visually as Kale when she's transformed. Just a total waste like much of Super.

No lie the characters in the top arc don’t exactly have the most depth, in terms of the other universes.I like Kefla many because of the design, I think the green hair is pretty cool
As much as i love DBZ and the SHF line for the anime it feels like with every base body they're experimenting. With the likes of Figma, Marvel Legends, Neca and Mafex figure you tend to have a pretty good idea of what to expect with the figures outside of the occasional revamp of the design. With SHF DBZ it feel like unless it's based off of the Goku or Vegeta base body then it's pretty much a crapshoot as to how the articulation will work, whether they get a bfly joint, how the waist articulation will work, or whether it's gonna be a ball hinge or one of the lucky few who get a double ball-peg.
It sucks that the one figure that comes with really cool character specific ki blast effects is an awful figure. Bad articulation, off model proportions, and a hard plastic diaper that scuffs up the legs. How did this get out the door?
To answer today's question, not really at all. She's not in my top 3 or 5, but I do enjoy Kafla as a character, I think watching her be amazed at her own crazy strength and feel super confident at fighting because of it is fun to me, and I like the colour composition of her design along with the flashy red and green moves she uses. She could definitely be improved though, she's basically just a cockier Caulifla without even a hint of Kale, but I dig her despite wishing for some improvement. A lot of my love for her comes from playing her in Fighterz, I think she's super fun, easy to cross up and mix with, though the reason we're here is less so the character and more the figure so I should get to that. Very disappointing. It's a shame to see Bandai really cheaping out more often now, No. 17 and No. 18 were half assed and seeing it happen again sucks. For a character I like, seeing the figure of her stink really hurts. Even though I find Dodoria and Zarbon to be super boring characters I was still happy to hear they turned out good, I want characters I don't like to get good figures as much as characters I do like. I think Bojack is a far more shoehorned in terrible character and my most hated in the franchise, but I'd still want a good figure of him. The point of collecting is to get solid representations of your favourite characters in plastic form, and seeing so many releases fall short is unsatisfying, even more here because she's not like Goku or Vegeta where we know they'll get a new improved version in the future, this may be the only time she's ever done and it's weak as hell. Really disappointed. I expect better of this brand.
Mine had a lose bicep peg. I immediately hated the leg articulation, and the effects were the only reason I bought it, and those are a pain to put on a pose the way I want. As a character, she gets redeemed SLIGHTLY because she caused Goku to do arguably his coolest attack ever, but in general, super uninteresting PLUS what happened to ‘no outside objects’ Zeno-sama? She was purely for plot, and really the Kale part of her is the only interesting part; Caulifla sucks to the moon and back.
I agree with you Anthony, all universe 6 saiyan girls are very shitty characters, in the manga they are not that bad but in the anime they are stupidly overpowered and annoying.

I never cared for kefla as a character. The saiyans from universe 6 all kind of sucked. At least cabba actually had some development. As for the figure, god damn, do they fumble this one. The hair is way bigger than necessary and everything else just looks bad. The accessories were good, but everything else was bad. Even the promo images made the figure look like shit. I’m really glad I skipped out on this figure
I didn’t care for her at all, Super has plenty of great new characters and she was not one of them. I wasn’t impressed with the figure at all, it’s finicky to play with and pose and even if you can put the lack of effort on the aesthetic to one side for a figure, it should at least be fun to handle.
I think I just like the character because the green hair. And Broly like super saiyan green transformation. Can’t tell you much about the characters personality because I didn’t notice one lol. Her accessories are dope though lol.
She's the exact same thing as plenty of other characters tho, at least after z. Strong character with little to no backstory. I mean she's not an amazing character but really none of them are in super so idk why the targeted hate towards her.

Isn't this one of the only female Saiyans that we get to see actually go Super Saiyan? I know she's a fusion, but still. That is just about the only reason why I tolerate her. It was nice to see that happen for the first time. Apart from that fact, I honestly find her super annoying. Sorry to people who do like her.

It’s just ridiculous this figure cost 70 freaking bucks plus tax and shipping. Wasn’t no where near this price. I was extremely disappointed because I actually am a big fan of kefla but the arms and legs killed it for me. I can’t enjoy this figure without fearing of something breaking. The arms are barely usable and I’m afraid to even touch them or they will break. She can’t even do full splits 🤦♂️
Gohan is easily the most overrated character as far as i'm concerned. He's likeable, but i've never seen a character get hyped so much by fans for doing so little.
100% agree with you on how bad of a character Kefla was. No character development at all!!! (were they Pirate Queens or something?) Was going to give you a thumbs up on the review anyway, but I would've given it a like just off that comment
the effortless powerboost they gave this character just to have a female saiyan on par with goku was cringe and if I didn't know any better i'd think this figure was from the dragonstars line.
I personally love and want this figure to add to my collection I respect and like watching the vids to understand the problems so I’m not mad people don’t like her😂 But I loved her in the anime and hope they do Caulifla & Kale separate eventually👌🏻
