I can agree. I didn’t want to get this figure because of the colors from the forearms to the shoulders. I don’t want a discolored figure just to have a “Vegeta” figure. Makes me want to buy a scouter vegeta figure more than anything. But yeah, these new figures suck 100%
This is probably my favorite look for Vegeta, followed by his look in the Broly movie with the grey armor and the really dark grey/blue undersuit. His Resurrection F armor is also awesome. It's a shame the figure has those weird issues, if it cost more that would be a deal breaker but at 35$ I can shrug it off. Fingers crossed that the Super Hero Gohan comes out as good as it looks. Piccolo was a real winner so there's hope.
I really hate that the new standard for SH figuarts has become a "hit or miss". Like evil majin Buu, Cooler, Broly are all great figures but then we get releases like full power goku and this new Vegeta that are total crap. BS!!
Yeah . I bought my Cooler figure once i seen it was available for pre order from Bandai in Japan . I saw this same Vegeta for $40 on amazon . I see why its only $40 . 🤦🏻♂️
My favorite Vegeta look has got to be his Cell-saga, followed by Resurrection F. As for this figure, I do not find those issues to be deal-breakers. I have seen pictures on Instagram and other videos in which this figure is kicking forwards pretty well, so I am guessing it depends from figure to figure. That said, I am definitely not a fan of those ankle joints and the cheap-looking plastic. I know dragon ball is their best-selling franchise and they want to put products out fast and all, but they're definitely taking a lot of shortcuts on these.

Thanks for this review! I have sadly cancelled my pre-order. I WANT to love it because it's Vegeta but there are so many flaws going on with it. My favorite Vegeta looks are Cell Saga base form and pink Badman shirt Vegeta
The issues this figure has really surprise me, considering at first glance it looked like a retool of Majin Vegeta which, while it did have some problems, was a way better figure than this. Glad I didn't decide to go for it. My favorite look for Vegeta is his Resurrection F armor. Really hoping we get a V2 of that look in SHF form someday. Same with Goku's' outfit from that same movie.
I was waiting on your review for this figure. Personally Vegeta is one of my characters in fiction and just like you I too love his no shoulder pads armored look the best. Upon having big hopes they would nail this, your review along with another tells me, I’ll be saving more money. To the point I’m not even worried about how they’re going to screwup the Gohan. Those once high, big hopes with this line’s continuation are now just, whatever dude!
Yeah, I think it's a general thing of quality being dropped with not so subtle details in every new release. I like watching someone who points this out firmly like you because of that, it's always cool to know.
I’m betting since he apparently plays no role in the new movie, they didn’t pay much attention to the design. I’m also betting that they are just getting lazy and assume that they’ll make just as much money putting less time, effort, and labor into products that they know fans will but anyway. What a shame, though, this line used to be soooo good and it seems recently it’s mostly been tanking.

Namek Vegeta look was my favorite. Loved the shoulder pads, and the armor he used after taking the senzu bean was great too. Hope we get those two figures.

Honestly, aside for the arms bit everything else doesn’t seem like that big of a deal for me… still good you bring it up though. I’m sure more hardcore collectors got a lot to think about.
Hi Anthony, thanks for the review! I had seen other reviews but I was waiting for yours. I was thinking of buying this one since I only have the super saiyan god vegeta and although I love the body and paint on that one I am not a fan of the rose and blue colored hair. So I still want a normal looking vegeta but thanks to your review I will wait for the proud vegeta v.2 whenever that comes out… Always appreciate your observations, continue the good work
Also the shirt was intentionally shiny bc if you look at the attached belt or waist band it is matted. I think it lends a good effect to the piece in that the shirt is not one connected jumpsuit like majin vegeta or his regular gear.
Been waiting on this review, personally I don't like the baggy shirt but those faces are pretty good. And for the price and it being a base form Vegeta? You can't beat it in most cases.
@@fiftyg1753 It works better this time around but the Majin Vegeta shirt just cut off at the waist, looked very meh to me. If done properly it would've looked cleaner.
@@ZARAHAnimation true, I’m curious how a 3.0 design would be. Ideally for me the waist and crotch area are one piece made with soft plastic so it doesn’t lose too much on articulation. Although it’s just a hope for now..
It’s nice to have a honest reviewer because the different colors of shirt to the pants and also the paint arms make the figure looks cheap. I hope super saiyan 4 vegeta turned out nice once he released to the public🙏
Great review! I was going to get this figure because I just got into SHF and can't find a Vegeta at a reasonable price, but with all the issues, and especially the head issue, I'm gonna pass on this. The forearms thing is genuinely shocking coming from a SHF figure.
For me-it is hands down tak top/majin look. Showing his evolution of haracter ,less and less armor,less and less freeza influence,and for me it looks the most bad ass/second is super saiyan armor-no shoulderpads,and all of the badassery
The new faces are cool but the new torso is pretty "meh". Bandai (and Toei) could've gone for a Majin Vegeta style jumpsuit, this one feels too loose imo. The articulations are also ancient at this point, the same 2.0 we got for years now. Lastly, the company could at least put a super saiyan alternate head in this figure, since Vegeta from the Broly movie doesn't come with one, so besides third party accessories like Demoniacal Fit we haven't seen this hair mold in yellow yet. Unless you're a die-hard Vegeta fan or isn't able to find Broly movie Vegeta at a decent price, I'd say skip this one. Especially because super saiyan 4 Vegeta is coming and that one is all new, not a single reused part.
Hey Anthony are you getting the sh Figuarts alpha suit buzz? That figure looks really cool Also they've always been bad matching skin tones, Gotenks, and battle damage ssj2 Gohan had the same problem, where part of the torso was painted and it didn't match at all.
This was supposed to be the PERFECT new age base form Vegeta and he completely flopped. I'm so upset, I am not getting this poor excuses for a figure. Hopefully the pull a Piccolo and rerelease it.

its refreshing hearing someone give an honest opinion on a figure. we should always hold these "premium" figure companies to a high standard. eschpeially when paying a lot for them.
I'd been waiting for your review on this figure and I'm not impressed either, but I feel like how hard you were hitting the lower body may have been biased based on disappointments from the rest of the figure. the entire lower body is the exact same as all the 2.0 vegeta figures, except that this release and the broly movie vegeta have more rounded toes. leg shape, sculpt, and articulation have been exactly the same otherwise. Either way, this release looks disappointing, just wanted to put out a check. Love the channel and look forward to more videos.
And the hips too, if I'm not mistaken! Only Majin Vegeta had unimpeded hips but they had sort of a mark on the plastic, something on the manufacter's end. Vegeta needs a 3.0 upgrade or at least a new waist-down mold, replacing the hips with the newer style and the ankles with ball hinges, like in SSJ4 Goku IMO.
Well, the Super Saiyan 4 Vegeta looks like it will be the best looking Vegeta face wise. Its based on the design/animator Kazuya Hisada. Which to me was prime Dragon Ball Z art and animation. The Naohiro Shintani depiction( Dragon Ball Super :Broly) is a Close second in my opinion.

Do you think this is something I six year old can play with? I bought the Bandai one but did not last long and same time I realized that it is only good for display.
The faces look fine to me. The torso could be better tho. I can’t see the paint issues on the arm they look fine at least viewing on my phone And the legs have been like that on every Vegeta since 2016. The shoulders also seem adequate
Where do you order your figures from? I have zarbon on preorder from premium bandai and they just finally gave me a delivery window for next month, and all the US sellers for this vegeta are still a couple months out.
I’m pretty sure that super vegeta is ssj 2.0 vegeta even if is called supersaiyan vegeta. Yes I know he supposed to have more muscle mass but if you compare a 1.0 ssj vegeta next to 2.0 ssj vegeta every one will said that the 2.0 ssj vegeta is super vegeta. But maybe I’m wrong and in the future they release the true super vegeta.
Hey man, found your channel from robot damshii gundam reviews. That's cool you're still doing these reviews as I saw those gundam reviews were 7 years ago. One line of gundam figures that would be cool to review are the Banpresto Special Creative Model Humable line of gundams, they come with I believe 8 figures. They are pretty rare to find since they were only came as arcade machine prizes, but they are pretty neat with great head sculpt for only being arcade prizes.
Incredible, how did they manage to miss one figure like vegeta . He is simple with almost no cloths so he should be well articulated. In terms of bad Sh figures, the worst in terms of aesthetic was Ace of one piece, and the worst in terms of articulation was the Ultron.
Buu Arc Vegeta is my favorite vegeta design. So, nice to see it’s return. I can now have vegeta in buu arc outfit and it can make sense for him to be ssj blue
I don't know why and if it happened only to me but his one boot felt off and doesn't fit any more since then, so i had to fix it with super glue :P kinda lame for tamashii products
I like this Vegeta look a lot, bunches, but I am also a fan of the Saiyan Blood figure, whatever that look is, armored? I absolutely hate when skin to es don’t match and glossy plastic that shouldn’t be, cause it’s representing cloth… I bummed by this review… but it’s honest and now I know the figure wouldn’t make me happy. Your super hero goku review has point higher than super hero means that vegeta still hasn't surpassed kakarot 😂😂😂, but in all honesty I really like your objective reviews so keep up the fantastic reviews.
Funny how he's essentially a naked person and still has bad articulation. What makes it even more hilarious is how the new buzz lightyear has way better range than him, and from the same company no less.
I see they have a reissue of this figure on Entertainment Earth, do you know if they’re fixing issues of this figure with the reissue? (the same way they did with Trunks ‘Boy from the Future’ figure)
for the comic/manga looks, I like the majin SS2 Vegeta. for the figure, I like the Super saiyan version. I noticed that they still kept the stopper on the pelvic for the forward movements? everytime I bought vegeta figures I had to disconnect the thighs and sanded down the stopper.
Was also thinking about doing this with my Broly movie one. Just a question: do the caps on the hips became more floppy once you did that? Thank you very much!

I did it with the 2.0 supersaiyan and also the scouter ver. just need to sand down that stopper and you're good to go. be careful when you take it apart tho, because the thighs connected via straight peg and they aren't that thick. so do not yank it side ways.

We should ALWAYS listen to Anthony’s reviews before buying. Just got mine today, I didn’t expect it to be that bad for an SHFiguarts. The forearm and the ankles are the worst! Different color on the forearm is awful, you can’t unnotice it. Finally good luck with the ankles when posing it. My guess is they don’t want to go on with SHFiguarts and regular releases, just exclusives.
I definitely understand your crits, but ultimately it’s an affordable base Vegeta, which is something we’ve never gotten, so I’m willing to put up with the flaws. As for favorite look, I don’t know how popular this opinion is, but I adore his Resurrection F look. Some tweaks to the familiar armor to make it sleeker, plus changing the bodysuit to grey. Love it. I assume Toriyama chose to change it to grey so there wouldn’t be two clashing blues since the blue form was introduced in that film. Of course then Super went and put him in the old armor and that’s basically what we’ve been stuck with since. Also love Goku’s “F” outfit. Wish those looks had stuck around. We really need official 2.0 versions of those designs.
