@@Gecko69420 He's fine. I have him on a low shelf so he doesn't fall. Still an amazing figure. I miss placed those elbow pieces. Still looking for them.
@Worldwar1940 He's doing well. Still poses super good. I paid, I think, 136$ on release. I recommend that Model kit kiryu. BBTS has both 02 and 03 kiryu in model kit form for like 80$ if I'm not mistaken.
Yeah your denfinetly right about the self dive I’ve had to fix those two side fins on the head and the bendy wire on my arm gun broke so I had to glue that as well but I still love the figure
I like battle ready Kiryu with the destroyed right arm and Absolute Zero Cannon. It's amazing. Great review, Steven. Makes him feel like he just finished a battle with Destoroyah, with the absolute zero cannon ready to fire, after sending him and itself into space and Japan sends and nuke at them and both declared dead. But Kiryu is alive and crash lands 5 miles from Tokyo Bay, raining at night, with the broken right eye and broken rockets. #Kiryu #Mechagodzilla
Got this little dude on my birthday! Absolutely sick! He’s my best buddy. only problem is that the canon does have a hard time attaching. Once took me 30 minutes to put it on
I really hope they re release Biollante but I bet they will probably re release heavy arms kiryu and another repaint of the Rebirth Godzilla but I'm hopefull because of all the good figs theyve released this year
I think this is the absolute best SH MonsterArts figure and should be the standard for quality. I own it and love it to death. However, I'm having a hard time noticing any shading differences between this and the very first Kiryu aside from just above the thigh thrusters. At least based on your lighting.
Getting one pre-owned for a cheaper price. Just to let you know I'm Swedish, doesn't matter where I get it. It's like 10 or 15 dollars cheaper in AmiAmi
To me the only downside is the paint chips easily, I have one and there are quite a few scarches, but if you handle it better it's not gonna be a problem
I find it interesting that you keep glossing over the drop down hips on this. They're minimal but work better for moving the hips outward. If you don't trust that they're there, you can pop the PVC thigh off of the 3 part POM socket that's screwed together on the ballpoint. At least on the original, dunno if they've simplified it since. The setup for the pulldown is mostly diecast but because of how little it's used I doubt it'll get loose quick or anything.
What bugs me out with the Original release is that, there's spacing between the eyes. Its one of the minor details you might miss but it really impacts the accuracy when you realize it. Which made the shinagawa version the definite one.
That’s such a weird term. Unless you found where your parents hid it or something, you have know way of knowing that. You asking for one does not confirm anything. lol
Awesome review Steven, already have the previous releases and ended up canceling my preorder to focus on other lines but I don't know, think I may pick this one up anyways just to have another Kiryu with them extra accessories. Still my favorite release in the line.
Hopefully the next S.H. Monsterarts Kiryu Heavy Arms re-release will include more accessories perhaps: - 2 Jet Planes- 4 'NEW' Electric Beam Effects; 1 for the mouth and 3 for the Hyper Maser Cannon on the chest.- 2 or 3 Bandai/Tamshii Act.#_ Stand and Base to support the jet planes and beam effects.- Lastly is the wire cables as shown in the last scene of the Godzilla Tokyo S.O.S. These are the accessories for a true complete S.H. Monsterarts Kiryu Heavy Arms re-release.
@@StevensToyReviews Well I did miss out on the original releases of Kiryu. If Bandai and Tamashii Nations don't re-release the Heavy Arms version, it is okay. I did pre-ordered the Kiryu Shinagawa version at BBTS at the end of March 2018. Thanks for the reply.
@StevensToyReviews that's a wee bit pretentious, new collectors are introduced all the time and Kiryu is one of the most popular incarnations of Mechagodzilla ever. So saying that it's the consumers fault for not getting a figure is quite dumb, especially given how the after market for Kiryu's go up 600%.
@thememeguy2195 I can definitely agree with you, I just discovered that articulated godzilla figures exist by random chance (got recommended a video showing off the super7 burning godzilla and destoroyah, and I've always wanted articulated godzilla figures but had no idea they existed until recently). I really want this kiryu, but the only one that's worth it currently is the soul of figure. Which is great, don't get me wrong, it has more bells and whistles than even this version, but it is quite a bit larger so it won't fit with others. However, I can understand his side in that if Bandai focuses on re-releasing figures too much, then we may not see new kaiju figures. Like we're missing Orga, Megaguirus, Megalon, Titanosaurus, etc. So as unfortunate as it may be for people, like me, who just discovered these figures, I do also want to see other kaiju get some love as well (and hopefully not suffer too many quality control issues on top of that).
