I love and hate S.H Monster Arts, I like their figures and articulation, but I don’t like how expensive and fragile they are

Why are we still using clear plastic for load bearing parts in 2024?!

Just like Gigan's tri wings and Iris' feet are made with clear plastic. I don't get it either it's like Bandai can make a great figure like Gamera Rebirth and than take two steps back and make duds. I know they read our comments and etc, but they won't do to fix their issues. It's like we need to do some so drastic that Bandai realize that their needs to something done about it.

Aaaand I’m canceling my preorder … I rather loose the $17 of down payment than loosing almost $200 on a piece of utter trash ! Tamashi expects us to pay for a “premium” figure when they give us a piece a s*it ! Who ever was in charge of this figure should get black listed from the industry…

UPDATE: I would like to make it crystal clear, sans my demonstration of the fragility of the plastic lol, the whole wing system was fucked. Every segment had something broken off of or in it, rendering near each section unusable. Pros: HLJ responded to my initial 2 breaks and said they could help, timeframe TBD. ???: stuff broke after I submitted my CS request, waiting to hear back. I'm not expecting them to help with *TWO ENTIRE NEW WINGS* but we'll see. And I still got Zinogre on order.

Just got mine in today, opened the box and the bottom wing plate was broken off. We have damn near the exact same issues, loose front wing plates and broken bottom wing plates. And you being able to easily tear apart the wing is really infuriating especially for such a high price item. I appreciate you also showing that the ENTIRERTY of the wing being clear plastic is really stupid. i do not think i can get a replacement because i bought mine off of mercari, so it isn't directly from a website that sells it exclusively. Bandai/Tamashii is unresponsive so far on the issue. I really hope Zinogre is better.

Aw man, I missed the firs zunogre’s release and now I’m worried about the anniversary edition

How can Blue-Eyes and Red-Eyes get such great releases… and then this happens on Rathalos of all creatures. I can’t imagine if that was a Velkhana which would most likely use transparent elements for the ice… Yet they did it on the mascot monster. Tamashii just keeps sabotaging themselves and, if you know how the MH community has been as of late with the Wilds stuff… the fans will take this Rathalos and show how unworthy this King of the Skies really is.

Interesting, my original Rath is still doing fine despite me dropping the figure multiple times. Maybe it's this specific figure?

when I ordered the original off amazon, I had to return it, the tiny balljoint in the wing was so loose and eventually snapped off, It's a shame this figure looks cool but it feels so fragile and not fun to pose. I see they didn't fix any of those issues. infact, they made them even worse! 😭 I never even popped off the wings and tried the flying ones it feels like it will snap instantly.

This is super upsetting! I genuinely hope this is just a massive QC issue and not a productions wide problem. I went ham on collecting the SHMA figs (including an aftermarket Nargacuga) and I’ve preordered Rathalos, Zinogre and Rajang off of BBTS. If the quality control of this figure turns out to be that atrocious….yaaaah I may just abandon this line entirely. Not paying $140-$160 for things that snap when you breathe on them.

Thank goodness king of mons got announced before i pre ordered this thing, also i saw this disaster unfold with a 1⭐️ Japanese amazon review wich said something along the lines of this as well as that the chest/ torso joint barely stayed pulged in, so yeah just a new bandai standard of bull shit

Monster Hunter line was perfect until now. Damnit I really love Monster Hunter too.

In 1 point in time I considered Bandai to be my favorite toy company. But now they have fallen so hard from their former glory I question how did things get this bad?

Its beautiful but too much issues and in my coutry its price is $200+ , well i rather buy other figure than this, its ashame i like it. For that kinda price and that kind of problems i feel like i got scammed btw Thanks for the info man

What is the point of clear plastic if it's gonna be painted over anyway. Just cast it in black or whatever. I cannot fathom these fucking stupid brainlet design decisions over at Bandai anymore. Sure, don't take my money I guess that's cool Eyeballing my Rathalos on my shelf right now. Do I even want it at this point if it's a ticking time bomb?

As an anniversary figure, i feel really let down. This is kinda offensive to make this for a 20-year anniversary. How could they call this figure a celebration piece. At this point, i hope Hiya steps into the ring to wake them up.

And to think I was super excited for this figure. And I get that there may be some that don't have any issues, but I already got a mizutsune figure where 2 of the fins can't go in (clear plastic joints too so that makes it SO much better) and one of the ball joints in the body is prone to popping out. Its now, unfortunately, restricted to a shelf so that I don't potentially lose any parts. Maybe someday we can add Monster Hunter to the phrase "Hiya does what Bandon't" (or Bandai finally steps up their game across the board, that would be nice too)

This is the one last final straw, I thought the Godzilla lineup is the only line that gets huge issues in the SHMA Line but that is not the case here, this here proves that the entire SHMA Line is officially dead literally and it angers me that Bandai hasn’t shut down this line yet, everyone do not buy this, if anyone that is still going to buy this, then that’s your fault, not mine or other toy reviews. Are you people really supporting THIS?! If you want GOOD Godzilla and MH Monsters go for Hiya Toys and Kitzconcept, sure Kitzconcept version is extremely expensive and extremely rare to find but think Kitzconcept MH figures are still worth to pick then picking up this. After seeing this “MH SHMA Rathalos 20th” I’m completely regretting buying these SHMA in the past, also instead of calling this an anniversary figure, this release should be called as SHMA Rathalos Disaster Ver. Don’t even bother picking up Zinogre 20th figure, I said this a billion times and I’m going to say a again, BANDAI IF YOU DON’T LISTEN TO OUR FEEDBACKS AND DON’T WANT TO FIX THIS THEN WE ARE GOING TO SUE YOU AND TAKE DOWN THE SHMA LINE FOR GOOD!!!
