Yes. ....i also fantasised about this interview ...but i expected it to be thrilling......Raja mohan seemed pretty mild on jaishankar ...questions were brilliant but there was no counter question....he swallowed everything jaishankar spoke as it was ...
Lol no indian express Is highly nationalist ! Sometimes they go over the edge in sunday newspapers He's referring to likes of telegraph hindu whose board members were linked to SFI some decades ago *cough * * n ram*
A grand narrative "Liberal Fundamentalism "Nobody ever tried even to tread into that territory. A great Diplomat, he blew the veil off many such as NDTV and others.we were yearning to hear it.
Damn the first question itself was fabulous and the answer was equally marvelous. Modiji might have made many mistakes but he chose the right person for the challenging job.
I could listen to it - and increase my own knowledge - all day.

I don't understand why in every corner of international fora and economy development one keeps comparing China with India. Its like comparison of 'apples and oranges'. Why don't people take cognizance that China is a Communist state whereas India is a leading, liberal and vibrant democracy? It is not easy to get things done in an overly liberal mentality society - every major issues or potential development being debated and time wasted on these issues and programs.
Yes, China doesn’t have human rights, labor laws and open society. Most western businesses are greedy and ignore values set by themselves, which they expect India to religiously practice. Our leftist never compare China and India on value basis which are like north and south but always ready to find fault with present Gov. There was policy paralysis in UPA 10 years and lost in many ways the competition plus corruption ate away funds.
Comparison becomes important because China is increasing its influence in the Indo Pacific through debt economics. India needs to make countries realise that India’s way of investment is different from that of China as it is more inclusive
Great!! Jayshankar...Sir Sternly put ideas on foreign policy...and strategic diplomacy.. In the changing scenario perspective of India has been firmly established..and endorsed by rest of the world.. The decisions of India certainly affect the global... It's our power and we've to strengthen it....
I fantasised about this interview ...but i expected it to be a little more grilling or thrilling......Raja mohan seemed pretty mild on jaishankar ...questions were brilliant but there was no counter question....he swallowed everything jaishankar spoke...as it was ...
India was in transformative process whether economically or diplomatically since independence until now. Immediately post independence India was perhaps mild until 2010 as India felt that was right then. Now there is perhaps shift in India's global image due to India's gradual transformation since independence. India's steps towards it's international policies in past was in sync with its global standing then. Shift in policy of USA towards India, post cold war perhaps majorly due to large sucessful Indian diaspora in USA and Indians sucess in science and engineering , has also had positive affects in India's image in other advanced nations.
@Arid Pakistan is a rogue state(a mad child with loaded gun) Hence we cannot accept rational behavior from states like Pakistan,North Korea. Also we should not look at China . We should not give bigger image to China... The way forward is there is need of paradigm shift in our foreign policy ..
One of da great policy for da Indian Express never give important for da Union for employees only great handling by Administration it's fantastic policy 💪👍🏾
Extremely competent minister. Wish other ministers match this in their respective fields. Also the bureaucracy should learn from IFS which has done exceedingly well for the nation but that not true for IAS who are pure generalists usurping authority without knowledge in any field. If they were focused then they could have done good to the nation and themselves.
One thing Dr. Jaishankar did not touch upon, which is seminal for China catapulting many time India's GDP is because of the form of government we have. Democracy in India, while most people love, to be free instead of someone does sits on you commanding you to "do as I say", which China doesn't have. They just move with their mover and clear stuff and start building sky scraper. In doing so they may have dislocated it people of out their living! Look at what happened to Tata motors in West Bengal, after several years of harranging with its CM, (while Tata moved their tools to Gujarat). In that time China would have built a city!
How aptly the EAM put the New York Times into perspective. Truly its New Yuck Times, i have seen the writers who write it, most of them does have an ancestry, whos very lineage was inimical to India. Truly, New Yuck Times is sold out to those group who says denouncing terrorism is akin to denouncing Human rights, Quite strange times we live in....
Not signing the RCEP, I see as a diplomatic win.. China is highly interested in it because it will extract money from India, and after distributing a little to 10 A... N, the money will reach to China. It's India's strength that India is able to deny. On manufacturing, I think India should deal with multinational companies more strongly. If you need market you also have to manufactur minimum 66 to 75% of your value in Indian market.
Rise of fundamentalism in Pakistan and Bangladesh will finally lead to rise of fundamentalism in India, making life of around 250 million. People in jeopardy
His all answers start with NO, Look, and all other expressions of the vanity of a bureaucrat, Contrarily, CRaja Mohan appears so cool and content laden.
Considering Indian boots on foreign lands wrong is really an example of conservatism. It seems the sustenance of such dogma will be a limiting factor for prospering India.
Yes, it could be for some individuals. I have a small suggestion. You could close your eyes and just listen to the wonderful interview. This way you can concentrate more!
India always thinks that it is a democratic country. Please tell the world whether India's caste system and discrimination against women should exist in a democratic country? All Indians should not evade this question. Please persuade all the people in the world.
Democracy has nothing to do with castes, racism, love jihad, religious riots, radicalisation, immigration. More or less every society has some kind of disparity. All these are issues must be addressed by society itself with the help of certain legislation if needed.
Hey bot. Here too? What's up with you guys? Why be so obvious? Indians know that China's time is coming and India will takeover. RU-vid spamming won't change that. Get a life, yeah? 🤝
