Lowes carries SK on their website, but it's the Chinese line SK. SK sold out to a Chinese conglomerate and started making a more "affordable" line of tools in china. All it did was make them junk. I can't remember which company bought them out, but it's the same company that owns Shop-vac. I'm pretty sure it's not Greatstar who owns Stanley Black and Decker. They were my favorite tool company until they did that. It lost them a lot of business. They say they're going to keep making the USA line here, though. That's the only thing that's kept me from buying one. Sometimes, a company will make only the ratchet body in the states and use a Chinese company to supply the internals. I haven't heard if that's what they're doing, but I'd like to know for sure.
Yep that's disappointing when they sell out for greed. I been downsizing my tools and trying to just stick with a couple brands. I had to learn to accept non USA products. Lately I think it's best to buy high quality more affordable tools. I mean, I owned some decent used snap on combination wrenches and realized they were not any better than my Crescent or Gearwrench wrenches. I dumped em!
