Real music. No rap, no hip hop, no cursing. A great female lead vocal with a great arrangement behind her and great lyrics. There will never be music like this again.
True golden age hip hop had no problem because it was still true to the game.....but yea it there is alot of negative rap just like, i love old school like sam cooke, sos, teddy, curtis mayfield, whispers but i also noticed alot of negative old school too, presented positively.....it was alot of lust and sex and false senses of love too.....jus said in a smooth way.

Oh god, what a magic time in life young people will never understand. 1979-80 was great. I had a 66 barracuda I bought from my neighbor for $500 bucks and drove it to LA. Didn’t have money for hotels so slept in the back seats. Walking on Santa Monica pier I met my wife working in a gift shop. 43 years later we’re still together.
Oh man tell your story of hope in this life, write a book, give people the faith! YOU MEET YOUR WOMAN IN A GIFT SHOP! SPREAD THE HOPE! tHE FAITH MY MAN!
yes! I just love her voice!! The whole vibe everything about it! When this came out I was very young but I DO remember it!! I Adore the 70’s and 80’s more and more more these days🎸❤️
How f|_|cked up are you, calendar anonists! So primitively and cheaply you are trying to get meaningless likes and comments. There is a special place in hell created for you: a vat of boiling sh|t.
Summer 1980! 43 years ago and I, a 29 year-old White Boy, married, went with my Wife Camping here in SoCal with two other couples. We set up Camp by a River in the Angeles Forest; no Campground, just the six of us. We had our BoomBox, a Campfire and 3 PUP Tents. Sitting around the Campfire in our Sand Chairs this Song came on. We Rose as ONE and started to Dance! We Laughed and Carried On with HUGE Smiles on our faces. All these years later, I remember it like it was Yesterday! That is the Sign of a MAGICAL MASTERPIECE of MUSIC! Tonight, as a Widower ALONE, I ROSE as ONE and Danced with a Big Smile on My Face! PRICELESS!
54 here too. I couldn’t agree more. Working on a music list for holidays with elderly parents that taught us how to dance to THIS music for this year and this one is top on the list.
i was born in 87 , i wish i could have lived the 80's nights as you did ! i might have been tucked by those years cuz i'm only listinging to those songs now....
As a member of the last generation that truly appreciates AND understands the power and originality of both R&B AND Hip Hop (born 66-74) salute to SOS Band🫡💐! R&B royalty right here! That bass line take me to a place!
Just turned 57 over here, this funky jam brings tears of joy everytime I listen to it, our wonderful generation under Disco Music will never come back only in our collectible mind. 🕺
Loved this song and group for 45 years. I "m a white guy from Montana and brought this "45" home from Spokane and it was always requested at dances, I too was shocked that everyone always asked me to bring that "45" to dances for the next 5 years. It got played at my 40th class reunion 7 times, people called it the Robert song. I had not been to one reunion until last year. I made sure everyone knew it was The S.O.S. band and that it's not the Robert song ha ha Thank you Tony
I had put a dummy in my bunk me and my partner from Jersey snuck on post to the club we had never been there. Song came on couldn't get a dance so I danced by myself by the middle of the song I had 2 females grooving with me. All I need is 3 beats and I can tell if you got a smash 🕺🏾💃🏾 when I got back my entire rack was outside of the drill sergeants office.😝
Im a "White" brother who grew up in Chicago in the 70's and want to thank to Mrs Anita Bustamante and Mr Kenneth Heiman for introducing me to "Black" music
My wife and I love this song and the disco era. Best time in life in 70’s and 80’s for great music and wonderful clothing and groups entertaining without all the special effects. Just happy people singing and loving their lives with passion. Didn’t matter what race you were back in those days for you to love music, and everyone got along. Love those days, and miss them. Nothing like it today, so Nostalgia sets in , and hard. Blessings to you all. Richard
I was 13 or 14 years old, asked to my parents permission to go to disco. They agreed making me so happy. This music was everywhere. Soul music.... ❤ Disco era!
April 23,2024. My wife was a disco girl before I met her, and to hear this song she just lights up and starts dancing. 70’s were her era, and 80’s more mine, but I agree that these times were the best ever, best music, with clean lyrics, and great outfits on the band members. Groups like the SOS band should be very proud of themselves for all the joy they have brought to people of all races and ages. Can you imagine being a grandchild to lead singer Mary Davis of SOS Band and hearing this song, “ yep, that is my Grandmother”. Bless all of the SOS band , and Soul Train for these times. Epic for sure.
This is back in the day when music was vocalize with Heart and Soul , The SOS Band delivered love in their songs not hate , a lot of music today has lost its Passion to define the meaning of Real Music 🎶😊
Badass Soul. Love it more than when I first danced to it. Who is listening with me in 2024, 41 years later? Can't stop jamming. Such beautiful talented people.❤❤❤
May we realize our Lord that we cannot be happy until we seek satisfaction the spiritual process guarding our peace of mind from all influences that would destroy it let us understand that happiness comes not by aimlessly thinking about but striving to express it in our moods and actions no matter what tasks We are performing teach us to fill the divine undercurrent the hidden river of Bliss overflowing beneath the sands of our married thoughts and the rocky soul of our difficulties may we be secretly joyous in spirit of all adverse circumstances knowing that happiness is our bright our divine Berry treasure the goodbye guide us to find in the soul of riches beyond the dreams of kings Thank you bunches 🧁🥛💦💋
Fabulous, brilliant. The powerful voice, the music, the musicians. Funk is a revolutionary black music that allowed people to have fun while dancing. Funk will never die...
I agree 💯 percent!!! My late cousin and I were two White girls who LOVED to watch and dance with Soul Train. GOOD TIMES!!! Rest in Peace, Don Cornelius 🙏.
It's ashamed my generation (2000s), doesn't really wanna hear great music like this. Most of us have been brained wash with negative music nowadays they have out. Good Music Never Dies.
It’s a damn shame for sure. 60’s-70’s music is so positive and wholesome. I’m 23 years old and mostly listen to 70’s soul & disco music. Trying to keep the old music alive ✌️
One of my favorites, I still remember walking around the club unable to get a dance(lol), although the women were dancing in there seats. Lmao....I had no game!!!
Born in 1987. Grew up listening to 90s rnb, classic rock, 80s metal, 00s nu metal and hip hop….then fell in love with EDM in 2010 and started getting into DJing…and man starting to play at weddings and diving deep into these oldies is just magical. What everyone is saying is true about this music. It is perfect and timeless. Imagine being from this era and hearing this banger for the first time?!?! I would lose my shit!
No doubt! The music back then was music, not all the same thing these groups sing about east coast/west coast rivals. I sure do miss those times where everyone got along. Where are all the groups from back then?? Miss you all!!
WONDERFUL Job Tony Mendes Re-Mastering this Solid Gold CLASSIC by the Mighty S.O.S. Band Took me RIGHT BACK to 1980 and I just had to get and Dance doing the Smurf
SOS Band! The only band ever where you were waiting for their 7 minute intros that got you tired from dancing before she ever sang one of her flawless lyrics and you had rest to listen to her! This group was pure genius!!!!💯💪🏿
Makes sense, the phrase "Do It Right" could apply to a multiplicity of topics, "Do your project right and take your time, If a writer, edit and do it right and take your time, If in a purity club take your time" "If a romantic couple "take your time" meaning"...etc. It's very catchy and could mean anything.
