First, as a language teacher, this videos was nerdy AF...and I loved it! Two things: 1. 'Conversation' etymylogically comes from 'con' meaning 'with' + 'versare' meaning 'turn' (it's where we get verse, inversion, reverse, and so on). So a dance is LITERALLY and FIGURATIVELY a 'turning with', i.e. a conversation. 2. We all learn languages (communication, or patterns to effectively turn with others) differently. Some people can scientific anylize the individual parts to build up to the patterns. While others need bigger chunks to breakdown the meaning of the pattern (This is called the 'lexical approach'.) Often beginners are better off using this 'chunking method', and experienced communicators can go both ways; bottom up or top down. While neither is right or wrong, you want to 'learn your learning style'. From there, you'll learn quicker. Here's a bonus 3. Never forget that language/communication is a tool to serve towards an end. It has a clear function. I believe that function is to create connections, expressions and impressions. So whoever is reading this, next time while on the dancefloor, continue to express yourself and keep your three connections: with your partner, with the music, and with yourself. Joe, in one video you have an ol' school throwback to Eric B. and Rakim and in the next you're breakin' down grammar structures...all while talkin' 'bout salsa! Ha! You speak to a narrow niche here on RU-vid and again, I'm lovin' it man. Keep doin' your divine work bro.

Good points all. I think we all know certain people who dance with two connections: the music and themselves, and forget that connecting with a partner is more than just having a connection to her limbs for manipulation purposes 😁 PS: Marcus Aurelius, good name!
