Passengers, vehicles, and even a semi-truck and trailer were loaded onto the S.S. Badger car ferry in Ludington on Friday, May 17, 2024, for the first time since July. The 2023 season was cut short by a mechanical failure related to the ramp lift system. The lift system was completely rebuilt, with painting finishing up on Thursday.
