I apologize for the poor quality of zoomed-in shots, which makes some details hard to see. This is because of file compression on top of the recovered footage from the original video. I hope you enjoy despite this technical difficulty.
the shotgun looks LOOKS like a semi auto, its not a pump action due to the lack of a sliding mechanism, and doesn't appear to be lever action because it has a loading gate in front of the trigger and a pistol grip. My best guess due to the lack of a lever action, pump action, or foregrip, coupled with what appears to be a pistol grip its either a Benelli M4 with or some random semi auto hunting shotgun without a foregrip, its a weird one for sure but saving that extra few ounces of weight on the front could be useful in the zone...maybe. Edit, took another look and saw the stock, its definitely as best I can tell, a Benelli M4 or M2 that's been HEAVILY modified and stripped of the sights, rail, foregrip and basically everything else not needed for the gun to go bang, most likely to save weight. The mag tube also has the bulges and mounting points you would see on some Benelli's
It's been a month so you might not read it, but that is my theory about the topaz. First of all, why the hell did they drive out in a blowout with sensible tech, they could have picked any other time to visit that giant arch anomaly. Maybe some anomalies are only available under certain extreme conditions only existing at that place during a blowout. It is already known that anomalies follow certain patterns and conditions. Like electros forming near metal structures and electrical devices or burners being at temperature Hotspots. Maybe the topaz records or saves those local conditions and swirling energies during a blowout and then you can reactivate those conditions and energies again at that place with the topaz. Having a need for you to venture out during or right before emissions, giving them more use then changing the zone and having you drop everything and haul ass to a secure location.
There is nothing you can hide from him! The details, the monolith machine seen for 1/10th of a second before being kicked.. the flower in the depot... Nothing can be hidden! Amazing work Anomalous. 46 minutes of "what!?" in surprised reactions.
My theory is Strelok becomes a Vtuber with a big tiddy anime girl avatar and it's the mission of the main character to save him before he opens an OnlyFans and becomes beyond saving.
The idea of the zone behaving differently based on your desires and beliefs is such a cool concept, and could potentially lead in to some way of making your in game choices have a greater impact in your gameplay.
@@flam3thrower595 they’d have to be really careful with how they implement it. If the easiest way to play is to not kill anybody then it would get dull and the optimal route would basically be to not play the game properly at all
Hot dang you've covered the trailer better then any I've seen so far. Great catch with the flowers in the pot and the echo detector! Makes me wonder if they'll focus some detectors on artefacts and some on anomalies. I do hope you're right regarding the inventory system, the trailer doesn't seem to put much focus on it beyond that snippet which would hint at this. My excitement grows, so many potential theories as to what might happen already!
When PC Gamer magazine was released on December 9, 2021, some well-known Russian-speaking bloggers about S.T.A.L.K.E.R. exclusive concept art's of the game and some information were provided. Them were told that the appearance of the Stranger on the roof (from the 2021 gameplay trailer) was specifically changed for the trailer so as not to spoiler the character ahead of time. Following the trailer, a new dev diary was released showing how scene on the roof was created. From the developer diaries, you can learn that the motion capture and voice acting of the Stranger on the roof was performed by actor Leonid Zakharchenko, whose face was also used for colonel Korshunov, which is clearly visible on the concept art. I assume that the Stranger on the roof was colonel Korshunov (also his manner of speech and behavior when talking is very similar to the Stranger). I hope google translator translated correctly)
22:06 The stamina divisions represent -Full Sprinting capability (drained the fastest for running into combat/away from trouble etc) -Middle bar represents full "standard pace" (Including the end bar) it is the most you can keep going before having to slow down -Bottom bar is your final bit of energy to be able to move with your load before being exhausted completely
I watched on someone's video that "the Zone in our image, after our likeness" is partially a meta-reference. STALKER has been modded very diversely and as a result there are many, broadly different, "versions" of "the Zone."
The leader of monolith and stranger which Skif meets on a roof look like the same person, instead stranger is much younger and no longer blind, also the dialog context means that old man got a chance for a new life from zone itself. That riddle part being told by old man also may be the description of a one of the zone's legends, Yuri Semetski (i may be wrong) which according to legend reached the wish granter and became immortal, but with some flaws. He is still mortal but people say that after most of the brutal deaths that person reappears like nothing really happenned safe and sound just to be killed some time later in a different place, in a different time
This was one amazing trailer breakdown. I was looking for analyses in the days following the trailer premiere, but only found few, and those weren't very in-depth. So kudos for outdoing the competition by a landslide.
36:23 The monolith psy-field beacon looks like it functions a bit like a thermos bottle, in that the cap screws on the casing. In this case, the cap functions like a core, also holding the three emitting rods which you can just about make out on the active beacon. The core on the disabled beacon has been taken out and is laying next to the beacon, which might be why the player hesitates shooting the monolithian: Maybe he intentionally disabled it, in addition to being unarmed, to show weakness and the player has taken this as a gesture of friendliness.
Yeah maybe that's what it is. However, the devices we saw in Call of Pripyat had a different looking core, and was in some instances seen deactivated despite the core still being inside.
Great analysis! I haven't even noticed some things which you have pointed out. The theory about TOPAZ somehow influencing anomalies seems very plausible. I've heard that it was confirmed by GSC that the new currency will be Coupons. I also like how the description of GP37 is almost identical to how it was in Shadow of Chernobyl and Clear Sky. I think that "found with the stone around his neck" alludes to method of execution by tying a stone to someone and throwing them into the water, not to a necklace. Also, I wouldn't be sure that the antennas which were used to communicate with Monolithians truly went silent after the C-Consciousness was destroyed. When Major Degtyarev examined the device in the book store, he came to a conclusion that someone talks to them. And while it doesn't really fit with the fact that Monolithians mourn about the Monolith leaving and not hearing them, maybe it can be somehow explained - when the Monolith device was still active, they possibly could hear it all the time. When Marked One disabled it, they lost their connection with it, but someone still could give them orders when needed. As for the Strider - it's possible that he and his squad got freed from the brainwashing not because they lost their connection with the Monolith, but because the Brain Scorcher was disabled by Marked One. There is a theory that Monolithians need to stay in the area of psi-emitters to remain in their brainwashed state, and that the Monolith device itself was not needed for that. Monolith troops in Pripyat could still be under the influence of the devices in Pripyat (the one from kindergarten, which was jamming radio signals, was surely active). But who knows, maybe it's not like that.
Thanks. Good points you got there, there are indeed a lot of things that are not entirely known. Surely the situation will get clearer when the game comes out.
Imagine if that's the blind guy's whole point. Reactivating or as they would put it, "Re-awakening" the Monolith so that all the former Monolith fighters that other STALKERS have slowly grown to trust over the years after they were no longer showing signs of psychopathy, all of a sudden revert back to their old brainwashed versions and start attacking everyone.
As I remember the devices themselves were turned off but there was some kind of functional radio hidden in the altar that "someone" used to control the members of the monolith but through simple commands, not mind control. but I played the game for a while and in the Spanish translation
Who knows what happened to Scar at the end of Clear Sky, besides the fact that he was likely hypnotized along with everyone else. I think it's likely that he very well may be the blind man. The scene with the stranger on the roof is I think after you kill the "music man" shown earlier in the trailer
1 day ago I was talking to someone about where Doctor's dog is since he doesn't bring him to agroprom underground in Both SOC and this trailer and he somehow made streloks Hideout into a medical place due to the vent behind him
Ok, this amazing work made me think of a few things: 1. If electricity is less present in the zone underground, my theory that it was RTG plant or even small autonomous reactors furnishing electricity to the lab could be true... after 10 years most of the fissile material inside a reactor would have reacted and there will not be any chain reaction anymore and for RTG their nuclear components will have decayed enough to produce nearly/not enough power to power the labs... 2. If we see more "everyday life" object being changed by the Zone, it could be like in Roadside Picnic (which is still one of the game source of inspiration). 3 I have some problems with your theory about the Monolithians. In the first three games, Monolitthians are portrayed as brainwashed, nearly zombified fanatics which can barely even talk, just enoughto pray. I imagine that it should be quitte difficult for them to speak normally back again as we see with Strider's group who still talk in small and quick phrase. However it could be explained because the Monolith has been far from them for at least 5 or 10 years (based on your estimations)... The other problem I have is that I don't really remember Monolithians willing to talk... like they are fanatics, if someone want to leave them they are likely to shoot him before even talking... but it can be explained from a lack of recruits... even though I think this behavior quite strange from the Monolithians... and to finish 4. We still haven't see Duty or Freedom in the game... we have seen their models but never, that I remember, in the trailer... I think they have quite a lot of importance, even more for the old S.T.A.L.K.E.R enjoyer... To finish, I say it again, excellent work brother. The Holy Monolith is pleased. I hope to see you back as soon as possible!
During the final scene I believe the object lying in front of that device is actually neon bulbs / the core of that device, just ripped out. He may have done this himself to stop the Monolith from controlling him, or possibly because Skif stopped the Monolith and this guy stopped hearing it, leading him to rip out the core of the device in frustration.
An "Introduction to stalker" video might do well. I know several friends who are only getting into stalker now. Trying to get some to play the other games but I know some who only want to play stalker2. Having a basic video to pass around would help and also help grow your channel.
That prophet guy reminds me a bit of Joshua Graham from FNV Honest Hearts. It’s the religious context and the whole “thrown of the cliff” thing that does it for me. Not really saying anything important but just making an observation
I think, the part by the psy-device shown in front of the man in a chair, is actually the inside part. Diameter and shape matches perfectly. Deactivated and partially disassembled.
For the pripyat shootout, there doesn't seem to be a damage indicator, but the enemy direction indicator does show the enemy, my guess is that the compass will be the direction indicator.
37:39 the monolith could be an artificial artifact requiring power to remain not only active but intact, it’s a stretch, sure, but it could explain both the rock around his neck and the fact that the monolith has collision in shadow of chornobyl, especially given that the words « hologram » to describe the monolith aren’t ever used in game.
It is called an "illusion manufactured in a lab" by Doctor. It is also literally called a "hologram" in one PDA entry which I think doesn't actually shows up in the actual game (although I've seen people use it as a canon piece of information in the Russian community, so I'm not sure), but it still kinda proves what the developers intentions were.
@@panda896 yes, it was made in a labhence the artificial part, which is still a stretch I admit but it’s not a direct contradiction. Secondly, things left in the files aren’t canon, or else soc would be much, much different (see: Shadows Addon). Yes, the devs’ intention, especially at some point, were to have it be a hologram, but seeing as that is technically cut content, it’s not stated anywhere within the game that the illusion is specifically a hologram and not a physical psi-installation, which could be either some kind of weird crystal antenna or an artificially created artifact requiring a power source. As I said, it’s a stretch, but it doesn’t directly contradict anything
@@anomalousdugout9557 Keep in mind too that the inventory needs to be simple enough for console players/controllers to easily navigate. While it may be counterintuitive, maybe the armor and player stats are in a different tab of the menu and you can switch between the two?
I just realized that the stranger is wearing a black suit. Dark stalker anyone? I know he has been only rumoured by chatting stalkers as an urban legend with some mystical powers and all that, but this stranger fits the description and looks like someone who can care for his own self like just like Strelok and other legendary stalkers. I can see this guy being in deep connection with the Zone and perhaps even possessing unique "powers" . These so called powers might as well just be insight into how to safely traverse the zone and live a true loner life, or something not so mystical but the stalkers who would have either known him briefly or have spotted him will have made these legends of a mysterious dark stalker.
While I'm not sure about the Dark Stalker thing (I've seen people speculate that what he's wearing is simply a SEVA suit just without the helmet, which would make sense if he's pro-anomaly and around them a lot), I agree that the Stranger seems more like a lone agent to me. I don't think he'll be affiliated with any of the factions. His speech: "I'm not giving Her to anybody. The Zone gave me a life. A new life. The one I am prepared to return if I have to. I will protect her. Always." It sounds very personal to me, and it reminded me of meeting Forester in Clear Sky. Forester says: "[...]the Zone spared me, you see? Heck, it didn't just spare me, it gave me a gift! [...] You must understand that everything comes at a price. Some day the Zone will take payment for my gift." Sounds like a very similar concept to me, as if they both feel like they owe the Zone a debt in exchange for abilities or "a new life". Whether the Stranger has abilities or not remains to be seen, but it wouldn't surprise me.
@@anomalousdugout9557 the man himself :D I also don't really think that's what they're going for, it was just speculation and it would be very underwhelming if the whole dark stalker thing ended up being just a guy lol Keep your work up and never change, you have such deep knowledge of the games and you're the only person who can satisfy my very deep curiosity of the Zone. Cheers Stalker!
Glad You did the video, but I got to talk sh*t about guns :P. believe, in the first scene It ain't aks 74, it's more like some ak103 variation (mag angle suggest 7.62) Other ak's seems to be good on details, so this mag angle should not be coincidence, like in previous games. I got some objections for guns models from trailers in general (like those weird dimensions of as val, or pumping more west block gats into the zone, instead relying more on eastern constructions, especially modern ak modifications such as zenitco furniture. Guess I'm gonna rely on the modders on that once again. Shotgun is most probably mossberg 500, but I can be wrong here. After all You did the best breakdown of the trailer compared to others, well played waiting a couple of days, to catch more details on it. I especially like the theory on topaz device actually sort of 'deactivating arch anomalies' to make it possible to obtain super rare artifacts.
@@anomalousdugout9557 Not really, You got others right, not like every one else ;) Kiparis, vulcan were not easy to spot for someone who does not pay close attention. Someone even got hk416 wrong, sooo ;) Like usual, keep up the good work friend!
4:45 im guessing they'll use the old zzz for sleep; that might be just a time of day indicator. granted we have a clock so i dont see the need for that.
That AK on the floor in the first part of the video with the Underbarrel grenade launcher is actually a 7.62x39mm AK platform and not a 74 series. The magazine is one for 7.62 ammo. It looks like it could be a AK-100 series with a grenade launcher. Edit: I didnt realize it had a metal fold stock on it so it's not a AK-100 Series like I thought but it still looks like the magazine is a 7.62 magazine so it must be a AKM series AK with a under barrel grenade launcher. The shotgun looks like it could be a Mossberg or a Benelli, it's hard to tell really as a lot of those shotguns look the same. Could also be the Russian shotguns like the TOZ.
2:45 yep it might be an benelli M4. i hope they finally add an auto shotgun in the game later edit. it's actually the M3 model not the 4. i actually reseached both of models and i seen that the buttstock of that shotgun isn't from an m4 at all but the one from m3.
I may have interesting theory or rather speculation about that shard that guy from Monolith have on his neck. In that scene where he sits on a chair in front of that psy-wave emitter you can see that the top part is broken, what if that shard was inside and that shard when powerd with electricity is emitting psy-waves that controls monolithians? And him having that shard on his neck is some sort of symbol of his strong faith in monolith. What do you think?
17:58 I've seen that before, it exists in real life, but I can't put my finger on where it is. Might be Reactor 5? 20:59 That's not Pripyat, it's the Jupiter Factory exterior.
What worries me the most about the game is how generic the UI of the game looks. You just have to compare the HUDs between the three original games and Stalker HoC to see a clear drop in personality and charm. Moreover, like you said, the inventory/looting UI looks unfinished at best, and lacks all of the character and charm the original games had. I reallt, really hope that these are all just placeholder UI elements and not the final product.
@@anomalousdugout9557 Hopefully, if it does end up looking like it did in the trailers, the modding community will be able to give us a proper replacement. Either way, really interesting video :)
I seriously do not understand what is so bad about the compass UI. I see so many complaining about this but I can’t wrap my head around why in the slightest. Yes, it’s simple, but is that really a bad thing? Why do we need so many UI elements in the first place? What if it’s made in such a way to complement other immersive gameplay mechanics? I thought immersion was what people wanted, or maybe I’m wrong
@@anomalousdugout9557 Sorry, I meant "roof", not "room". Pause your video @ 40:17. Open up another tab, and open that new tab to 44:03 . To many of us, that looks like the exact same person. Facial structure, etc. Maybe 10 years reversed... maybe with his hair restored, not sure about the circumstances to explain that (if it is him). Slightly different because of the modern graphical jump. But, bottom-line: they look like the exact same person. The dialogue also fits, from the perspective of it was Strelok (theres also a reference to the Zone giving him his "life back", which may go some way to explaining his restored hair and *apparent* youth. He also says the Zone gave him "his life back", though admittedly, that's slightly more ambiguous... but still points to Strelok, since he was basically near-dead pre-S1. Being at some point near-dead is not really an event explicitly referenced with any other person in the lore except Scar, as far as i'm aware). It would also be a natural, narrative development at this point in the series for Strelok to be brought back as a villain. Be honest: if you were writing STALKER 2, who would you consider the more, dramatic villain choice? General Korushkov... or... Strelok?
@@MaxDamageTV They don't look like the same to me. Moreover Strelok wanted to destroy the Zone. But who knows, maybe you are right, we will see when the game comes out.
@@anomalousdugout9557 What better setup for him to become a villain than his desire to destroy the Zone becoming an obsession with protecting it...? Especially if it granted him something he wanted (like youth? A new life / purpose? Power? Etc. I mean, this is backstory of most villains in media). Also, some time has passed since the previous events, so the writers could of taken the character in literally ANY direction they needed to for this new game's story. To me, the faces look nearly identical (hair aside... and one looks somewhat younger, as i've said). I'd challenge you (since i'm sure you know FAR more about Stalker than I do) to find any other character in the setting's history that looks more like the Roof Guy than Strelok does. As you say though, we will see when the game comes out. I'll come back to here and accept defeat in public if it's not Strelok...😛No problem.
@@anomalousdugout9557 but one thing that doesnt look good is that THE SHELL EJECTION PORT ON THE MP5 IS STILL ON THE LEFT SIDE AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
yea the only only only only thing i found wrong in everything weve seen so far is that the AI especially people, seem very dumbed down which makes me sad since all the stalker games always had AI ahead of its time but i have a feeling they wont let us down, or maybe the game play shown is on easy mode? xd
i hate those on-screen blood effects & some of survival features (in any game), might not play it then. Or will re-play first part for once - then first time play the next two, and revisiting my decision after
So you would not play a game over a screen blood overlay? That’s silly, features like that are commonly switchable in accessibility settings Even then, STALKER is a famously moddable franchise, so if 2 will follow the trilogy, you will be able to change anything
Can anyone read ukrainian if so can you tell me what those words say written in ukrainian? Out of curiosity the ones near the picture and the one in the top right plz and thank you in 10:16
It kind of looks a bit soulless tbh, which is bad cause the old games are oozing soul. Damn, i really hope this will be good, it´s the last game i want to play before i go. But everything human past 2010, it´ll most likely dissapoint.
I assume the scene with Colonel Korshunov takes place either directly before or after the first cutscene in this trailer. You're in a room with dudes from his faction, then get kicked.
Some more details and theories I think worth noting: 1. At 35:08 in the Poppy Field Anomaly we can see in the distance what appears to be a swarm of red petals that move from left to right, which means a new type of moving anomaly, like Comet or Tesla anomaly. 2. The machine at 5:20 look very much like a nucleus and rotating electrons, but it also looks like a giant eye, which resembles the Monolith logo the soldiers wear on their patches. A watchful eye, possibly, this device will be very important in the story of the game. 3. My theory is that the blind Monolith leader is attempting to rally the remaining monolith forces to him using those hand-held psy emitters. Hence the "Come To Me" but it is a very far-fetched theory. 4. From the character's point of view in the very first scene at 2:40 with the Monolith soldier beating everyone up, from the legs and arms we see that they are not wearing the Ward armor but instead a black suit, which resembles the suit the Mysterious Stranger from the rooftop uses. 5. At 18:30 in the trailer if we observe frame-by-frame, during the jamming animation, the ammo counter on the bottom right is not visible, it is only after Skif fires the first shot that the ammo counter appears, which means there may be a Dynamic HUD option that appears and disappears based on context.
Hello from Ukraine. Very good video analysis among all youtubers 33:32 the artifact looks like a modified truck mirror. There were 2 similar modified artifacts in Call of Pripyat - Steering Wheel and Isolator. I also want to add that this place is similar to the entrance to the Bar, only now instead of a path with dogs there are a lot of anomalies
This is the video I was waiting for, so many details I missed or did not know about. I think the fact that seemingly Monolithians will interact with outsiders/leavers is interesting, I hope we learn new things about the faction and their motives.
It’s so indescribably amazing to see this game come into fruition and have the franchise given AAA quality care. I love the original 3 games so much already, man. So excited to explore the new and creative ideas that the developers have brought into this one. And while I know the story is a bit overlooked with most people, I actually think it’s really intriguing and cannot wait to see what they do with all these characters and the overall plot. I enjoyed the endings to SoC as it was really deep philosophically. I really hate overhyping myself, but I have an optimistic mindset 🤞
AAA in today's standards mean usually cheap, trash and half baked games. Don't hype yourself. It kinda looks like every other unreal engine game idk how the atmosphere is gonna be it also can be that the game is gonna be to easy because of the compass for example that shows you everything. No need to explore or to look out for enemies
@@fy4370 the minimap original already show ennemies but yeah i'm not big fan of this compass i will personnaly disable it if still the same on the release
hey man, I am from Russia, and I am a huge stalker fan since 2003 (right after the game was anoncend). And I realy apreciate your work on this chanel. I really like how you exploring vanilla stalker lore. For all this years I never saw anyone doing something like you. Great job!
You are the most passionate S.T.A.L.K.E.R fan and content creator ever. I can't wait to see more infos, tips, tricks and contents about S.T.A.L.K.E.R 2 when it gets released
That Monolith leader guy, in my opinion, could be Kharon (Харон), he was in Soc and I think he was the leader of Monolith group. He was located in Pripyat in Monolith base, he had exoskeleton suit and was equipped with VSS. The player could also assault that base of theirs and kill Kharon, though it didn't really affect anything after. Maybe he survived after Soc, who knows
I’ve seen a lot of speculation on that shotgun in the first scene (Us gun nerds are rather pedantic as you may have guessed :P), and personally I think it may be a Fort-500 shotgun, mainly due to the profile of the barrel and the grip, also it seems that some of the guns chosen are due to their Ukrainian origin such as for example the Malyuk, and the Fort-500 would fit due to it being a Ukrainian shotgun. As for the missing hit indicators you noticed in the Pripyat Shootout section, it seems that GSC is perhaps taking a few cues from Escape From Tarkov which also forgoes hit indicators. This is mainly aimed at headphone users since in that game the ballistic audio is good enough to determine the direction of incoming fire, hopefully the audio in STALKER 2 is good enough to allow for this, or it should at least have the option to turn on hit indicators. P.S: Don’t let us internet gun goblins stop you from making speculation about the guns, you got most of them right and your video was awesome!
22:09 Also we see that the bleeding is still in full effect here. This makes me guess that the healing item shown here replaces the classic medkit and that bandages will still remain in the game.
One thing I think be cool to have is for Skif to have option to help or harm die-hard Monolithians or ex-Monolithians as well as Ward and Ecos or others who work against them, or maybe even third or fourth option with like helping and/or betraying one, another or both for self-interest or simply taking no part in it at all I think that could branch out more endings and more replayability
Supposedly the player will be able to choose who to help and who to make enemies with, and the story will be non-liner with many different possibilities.
Regarding the riddle, it's very reminiscent of Samurai death meditation. Listing all possible ways you can die and thinking about them. Most are STALKER specific, but some of them are actually pulled from Yamamoto Tsunetomo, such as the "thrown from a cliff". No idea if that means anything, but I highly doubt it's a coincidence.
The game must take part approx. 10 years after COP, the dead stalker with the old Echo detector (at 33:05) looks like he has been there quite a while, since there are only his skeletal remains left.

Would it be possible that the faction that could be opposing SIRCAA and the Ward are just the Loners who united, just like we saw in Clear Sky when Father Valerian declares the war on the bandits.
"Thrown off a cliff" in Clear Sky Strelok's script glitched, and he fell down, and stood in one place (this always happened to me), and Merc had to jump down, so Strelok threw him off a "cliff". :D
the new bolt throw animation is a much better arc for clearing a path in front of you, where before the bolts might go just over the anomaly so you'd have to throw a bunch over and over down the path you're on, rather than clearing out a line in front of you with one.
