5:38 - 5:48 Good approach, but the asbestos filter is still open next to the inhale valve. I would recommend that you block it by tracing the diameter of the filter thread on some thick cardboard. Asbestos can't get in or out.

on 6:20 you show this mask, and yes it does say that it is approved for airsoft/paintball, but those are fake and misleading. The lenses break very easily which is a huge shame. and if you absolutely want to do airsoft with real gas masks, then it is possible to buy airsoft approved lenses on ebay and such, but that whole procces in it self basically destroys the mask for it's original purpose. Great video as allways :D
The Russian PMK-3 actually comes with rather thick and sturdy outsert lenses if you get it with the entire kit. It's also rather cheap compared to other masks out there, but the connection is a proprietary bayonet plug, which needs an adapter to work with standard STANAG 40mm cartridges. I found one for around 40-50 dollars, which includes the whole kit.
m40s are wildly accessible for westerners. they are surplus at this point with the introduction of the M50, and are everywhere on ebay and American surplus stores.
I have a drager m65 mask its used by the german army, it looks exactly like the sm-90 i got a few for 15 bucks a piece. They are super comfortable and high quality
The romanian M74/85 is a direct copy of the Drager M65. Join my discord and you can sell stuff there if you want and there is also a discord server and facebook page dedicated to selling gas masks.
Ya know a little thing say that carpet tape can give the gas mask a good look if used correctly and the PDF gas mask is not in the game but the dead look of it gives you that stalker feeling. Thats all good vid btw.

idea to use the pbf gas mask but without the filters and keep it looking like the filters were inside ? because i have one but of course with old soviet filters i don't wank to take the risk to use them
@@RobertCBRN I tried with some wires inside the mask which were holding the caps, it works but doesn't always look perfect. By the way I found those 3d printed models for eo-19e filters: www.thingiverse.com/thing:4266255 , now i just need to find where i could print them.
Question about the pbf kit, you stated that they can contain asbestos is it the filters themselves that contain it or the mask itself? Im seeing kits with the filters that are in plastic bags sealed, only wondering for a safer option. Cannot seem to figure out the the 3d printer ones lol.
Ok so idk how but I got an SM 90 from my local surpuls pretty cheap and yes I checked everything on it and to my surprise it s ans original onenew out of the box
You mentioned it a few times but I’m gonna expand. Soviet filters are a no no. Most of them have asbestos, and it’s not worth the risk, for most masks running the hose into the bag will work, if not get a GOST to NATO adapter and use a modern nato filter with a filter sock. :)

Home made adaptors are not good, only for radioactive particles, but if any chemical agents are used, you have no guarantee that they are safe to use. Get any mask for cosplay and don t complicate your process with adaptors and stuff, but for ppe and life threatening situation get something different that will be stored in a dry and dark place.
I had a lot of issues with the GP-5's sizing and my ears, so I opted for a GP-7 and it fits perfectly while also fitting the theme. Is this a good call, or not? Lore-wise.
Lore wise all soviet masks make sense , however i would like to point out that recently in Ukraine we started producing our own gp7 (looks alot like the.pmk , basically a licensed copy)
Yeah, I just watched couple of videos about gasmask today, and found out that with a good filter even a GP-5 can function as good as an S10 (at least in terms of protection).
One of my tips is that you shouldnt try and copy some character if you dont have money or well to be more precise you really cant since the gear and most importantly the masks are a mishmash of random masks that only exist in the game world. Also why cant i like the video?
I really need to find out where i can get a GP4 for my S.T.A.L.K.E.R. costume if i want to do some full face mask shots. Do you have any idea on which size i need according to my heads measurements?
What do you think about pmk 2 gas mask would it be good? Or better to buy like gp4 . I dont really going that much for cosplay very close to game so i can buy one or other. Main question is what better to buy gp4 or pmk2?
