I just bought a Le Grand in gold. I get it this Saturday. I got it because it's beautiful and because it accommodates both cigars (with the torch) and pipes (with the soft flame). I'm looking forward to hearing the famous clink.
@@SmokinBarrelsShowit came in this afternoon. i had to sign for it from USPS. there was a white box & then the black ST Dupont box. it's very shiny & impressive. the clink is very distinct. it's thicker & heavier than i expected. the inside of the filler cap has the red code. i'm happy to have one lighter that handles both types of flame. everytime i see it, it looks dazzling & exquisite.
Hi @ScaleCrawling. AFAIK more gold ones will be made, they are just made in limited run batches. Keep a passive eye out, we're not sure of the schedule of release. Quickly looking, they seem to be available directly from the US ST Dupont website?
Hey @pornets! Thanks for the comment! The lacquered ones do not, but the gold and the palladium have a beautiful ping like in our video. We’ll post another one comparing the pings on the Le Grand and Line 2, so stay tuned!
All ST DuPont line 2 lighters will have perfect ping. Older 2020 earlier will have more of a cling. The gold one in the video is the newest generation with what they call the perfect ping
Hi Chip! Thanks for the view and the comment. We're collectively avoiding "Death by wife" and dodged the pricing question in the video :) The prices can be a doozy. The gold one is around $1500, the paladium/laquer one is more around $1800
