Really good video, I think it was a fair assessment 👍🏾. My only knock is I don't feel a portability/concealabilty category should have been part of the criteria. I am waiting for S&W to release a 10mm metal version of the 2.0.
Great vid, one important point is the m&p competitor weighs roughly the same as the polymer gun, so I’m not sure it is worth the additional cost over the polymer version. The canik steel version is significantly heavier thank the polymer version, and I think is a better option for its intended purpose. I think the m&p is a cool gun, but would just buy the polymer version. The canik steel version is a kickass competitive gun.
Thanks for the great comparison of both guns. Great job bro! I don’t like having to rely on the red dot only, just saying if your red dot battery dies when you need it your in trouble, no other sights! They should all have the original sight as a backup!
Very extensive video. Thanks. I also have experience with both and the Canik Rival S is a class above the M&P. That view is from a competition only focus. Weight and Balance, Magazine capacity, quality optic plates, competition holsters availability and trigger all favor the Canik Rival S. That is why they are in demand and the S&W sits on the dealers shelves. Take care and keep up the good work.
I'm a GenXer, remember my first Glock 17 in 1992, thought it couldn't get any better than that. What I've seen past 4 or 5 years blows my mind. Great video, my friend, great time to get the exact gun you want.
Thank you for watching! There have been a lot of flood of new products from a lot of manufacturers over the past 5 years which is great news for consumers & content creators alike.
Pretty good comparison, however the carry category shouldn't be included as the Canik is a race gun pure and simple, not a carry gun. Also takedown is stupid easy on the Rival it takes about 3 seconds. Finally I have a Rival-S Darkside which came with the Canik red dot and purchased it for $999.
This was a really fair and informative comparison review, I am in the process of picking up both of these firearms, going with the Stainless on the Rival. I have been watching various reviews and happened upon yours which was a 2 in1 so that worked out, always good to see others like me in this 2A space, I have subscribed to the channel and look forward to other good content
In my opinion you didn’t do the canik enough justice. The case is so much better. The optic plates have the charging handle option for both sides. The slide in my opinion is even better. I got 22 rounds in my mags by the way as well plus all my 22 round mags work in all my other caniks too. Personal it’s hands down a better firearm in every way. Also if your looking for a palm swell check out lok grips they got you covered my good man. Sick grips and cool colors!!
@@Baseball4Life- you are right it is all about preference. As long as your getting out and practice with what you got that is the importance part. I work at a gun range where we get to try pretty much everything we want. If anyone has something like that take full advantage of being able to try before you buy. At the end of the day they both put rounds down range
@@Baseball4Life- yes yes. It is sure nice to get the friends and family discount. The range here is like my family. They were there with me when my wife passed away and gave me a place to go to focus on moving forward. Still cheaper than therapy
I bought the metal(not the competitor) this past week, does your frame to slide fit loose? Mine is pretty loose, so loose that when i shake it it makes a clicking noise. Most of my other guns have play but its nowhere near as much as the metal.
Good video, but the ocd in me can't stand the fact that your beard left side is fluffier than the right side 😅😂😂😂, just kidding, actually this was a really great info video that made me change my opinion on the m&p for the better!
