Just ordering parts but I'm confused where the IGUS bearing and linear bearings are used. How many did you need from the 2 amazon links you provided. And where do they go ? Thanks for any help.

Hi i ordered 8pcs of this plastic bearings and need just 4 of them. I install 2 of them for the X-Axis and 4 metal bearings for the z-axis.

Taking a break from construction and relaxing on RU-vid watching other people build their Hypercubes, its a weird kind of 'Hypercube inception' I have to say much respect Frank thanks for posting this series , and a small amount of envy for your workshop :) with all the changes in the world its nice to see some fine German engineering still exists! oh and you just got a new sub.

Your old printer seemed capable of printing out the parts for this printer just fine to me. So how was it, "exhausted"? I think I'm going to have to agree with your wife that you didn't in fact need a new printer.

+Paul Frederick sure :) But the surface quality is better on the new one.

+Frank Herrmann what specifically do you attribute the improvement in surface quality to? Like what does the new printer do better than the old one?

Moving such a light hot end and not all the mass of the heated bed is a major step forward, you could still get fine quality on the old printer but not at a reasonable speed

+vizionthing I have a fixed gantry CNC machine so the table moves. It is a fast axis on my machine too. I'm not sure what makes 3D printing slow, but that seems to be how extruders are. Some have told me it is mainly down to the nozzle size. Small nozzles capable of high detail are just inherently slow.
