5:00 that was interesting .. fits right in with my study of Lawren Harris and the Group of Seven. Thomas was the artists father and passed on in 1894 from a liver infection. Alanson Harris was the artists grandfather and also passed on in 1894. He was no starving artist when he met up with Tom Thomson and the others. The group went into the Algoma District to paint. Did they reach Salter township where the Massey mine was being opened c1900 when Lawren was 15 years old ? Did the Massey mine name fit into the story of Massey Harris ? These machines were always important to farmers but the technology in general was important to the war efforts of the 20th century which made mining very important to them all....
