You discussed a crucial topic. I find it interesting. Thanks for the video. I would like to describe my mate's personality: I am lucky because I have such a wonderful mate. She is humble and generous. What I like about her more is that she keeps the secret and she is honest. She always stands by my side especially in difficult moments and hard times. She is really a real mate. I wish for her all the good ❤️

Hey besties ,hey cuties My friends group means so much to me. I'm really lucky to have them as besties. My best friend Amal is the epitome of a social butterfly. She 's always hosting get togethers and parties. Then there 's sarah, we usually just hang out at her house or do something relaxed. Let 's see. Marwa is such a good friend .she's so funny and she always knows the right thing to say. Everyone brings something unique to the table and they 're all incredibly supportive. We're pretty tight knit and i value their honesty and their different characteristics that they offer.so that's definitely why we 're friends. I consider myself like Ema, i came across as quite shy and reserved at first glance. But once i get to know me i am a riot.

Thanks for the video, Greets from Indonesia, I wanna ask about word "extroverted". At 12.00 minute mark in this video, Mark said that he's extroverted. Why do we use "extroverted" instead of "an extrovert". I think the extroverted is an adjective and we will need additional noun after that
@highlevellistening
@highlevellistening 7 месяцев назад
Hi there! Good question! You are correct, "I am [an extrovert]." is the noun. "I [am extroverted]." is the adjective. I think if we want to focus on someone's general behaviour or personality, we will say the adjective. A: "What's he like?" B: "He's very extroverted, so he has lots of friends and he loves telling stories." But I think if we want to talk about our social habits, like how often you go to parties etc., we use the noun. A: "How often do you go to language exchanges?" B: "I'm kind of [an introvert], so I only go once every 2 months." I hope that makes sense!

Hot dogs are a snack food in the United States with a meat sausage in a bread bun, we commonly eat them as snacks or during barbecue parties.

Hello Kat I'm enjoying followng your episodes. This one is also very useful and helpful with having lot os of phrases . I'm glad for this video I have one question for you. You use "kind of'" phrase many times. What does it means for example : I kind of light up when I think my friends But my inglish is awful .So forgive me for my mistake in the sentence
@highlevellistening
@highlevellistening 8 месяцев назад
Thank you so much for joining the class! "Kind of" is such a common filler especially in American English, it's similar to "a bit" or "a little" and it's often used to soften an adjective or sometimes can make it a little "cute" in a way, so your sentence: "I kind of light up when I think of my friends." means I light up a little when I think of my friends and that sounds very nice! I kind of light up = I light up a little I light up I light up a lot Thanks for your comment and question I hope that helps!

I've been reading the comments to your video and some of them are full of advanced vocabulary as well. Efficatious and Effective. Is there any difference at all? The browser found the following explanation: effective means able to produce a result in general, efficatious - able to produce a specific desired result. Is that true in both English varians?
@highlevellistening
@highlevellistening 8 месяцев назад
We almost never use the word efficacious in spoken English, effective and efficient would be more commonly used quite often. Effective is giving us the result we wanted. Efficacious is similar. Efficient is not wasting any resources. Hope that helps!

Funny this has become a great question from our students Doing something relaxing is like a spa day, the activity is very relaxing, it’s helping me become more relaxed. “Something relaxed” in English is something calm or easygoing So this is a common phrase to use when we’re just going to spend some time doing something relaxed (watching tv, staying home) or something relaxing (meditation, listen to quiet music, have a massage) Hope that helps!
