As you discovered, this thing jams very easily, and with those feeders only going one way, it's impossible to pull anything out. You have to unscrew the whole top. The hole shape really puzzles me, because they cause it to jam. It's fine if you're mulching broom sticks, but anything of good size needs any crooked parts cut off and run through in short sections. Also, side branches need to be removed, again due tom that design flaw in the holes. I also removed the hopper. It just gets in the way.

Thanks for this video. My yard has tons of branches in it. Was going to call someone to remove them but decided to invest in this so we can do it ourselves every year and not waste money. Thanks again!!

Have you ever used it to shred brown cardboard boxes for your compost?

I am having a problem taking out the blades. I can only get to the outer bolt up front and the inner bolt through the back hole in the rotator plate guard, but either way, the bolts are in there rock solid and I cannot get them loose and I don't want to strip out the heads. Recommendations?

loved this video! I had heard and read about this machine so purchased it for new home with established yard and lots of trees and leaves. your video was helpful when I put it together - It appears to be just what I need.

nice vid but an important Q for me : did you try passing the chips thru again to see if it would reduce the size ? most vids i've seen shows the chips as too big to compost fast. better than a branch but not what i'm looking for

Interesting coincidence I notice the time on the clock on the back wall is 11:40 which is exactly the same time I watched the video here.

No messing around with batteries either. Sick of charging up batteries and dead batteries filling up the landfills where they can leach out into the water supply.

i purchased one, easy assembly, just looked at the picture on the box. First use was good, tons of limbs and branches to chip.

Hi. Thank you for posting this. I have a follow up question. I see a lot of large sticks and things but have you run a variety of kitchen scraps through it? I am looking to buy one for making compost or something similar. It seems like it should be able to handle it but not totally sure. Thanks!

Interesting question there, Clayton. I haven’t tried that, but I imagine it will mulch just about anything you can push through the holes in the hopper. It might get a bit messy inside the unit however. There’s a fair amount of space around the blade so I’m visualizing scraping a lot of vegetable pulp off the inner walls. So with that in mind something a little more specialized may serve you better.

Any guidance on turning over or replacing the blade? I've taken it mostly apart to clear a jam and observed a few of the screws are really hard to get at. Would beceasier of the main body blade cover (green on mine) could be removed. But I had no luck trying to do that
