What a find! It's not running. It's rusty. It smells. But it has some great potential. We haul it to town, have a closer look, then discover some stow aways as we start to clean out the cab!
Follow me on my first-ever auto restoration as I work on breathing some new life into an old beauty. With my family helping out, we learn along the way. The “Pilothouse” model was produced in 1948, 1949, 1950, 1951, 1952, and 1953.

I drove a 1950 dodge pickup in high school. In 1970 I purchased my own 1948 dodge pickup. I think it's wonderful that you and your son are working together. I wish I would have been able to share more time with my Dad!!

Really enjoying your coverage of the project! I will soon be working on a '51 so thanks for the great detail - it should help me out. And - the family is really engaged and eager. That is outstanding!

Someone may have changed the wheel bolt pattern from Dodge to something else, the plugged holes may still have good threads. I'm gonna subscribe so I can watch this unfold, keep it all original please. 👍

Where in Canada are you? I just got myself a 1951 Dodge DG2-26 truck, it's in very nice condition & patina, I'm in Manitoba. I've been watching all your video's. You have a lot of common sense. Good luck with the project.

Thanks Malcom. I'm a total newby and I think that helps. Its funny because I never thought I would spend so much time fighting rusty bolts! And also keeping the lid on my POR15 paint from fusion welding itself to the rest of the can. I'm in Alberta. Good luck with your project too!
