Being alone in nature is both frightening and awe inspiring. I have been alone at sea more so than in the bush and can attest that one grows the most as a person when one feels the least significant. Ride safely my friend and enjoy the night sky!

Having done this ride (as a 57 YO) I can attest to its challenges; a fully loaded bike is a handful - well done to this point and I wish you luck as I catch up on your posts. It's a tough track physically and mentally - those are not real corrugations yet either.

That low after the Adrenalin wears off can be really fatiguing.

Yes.... indeed, after a crash i usually just sit around for a bit..... Drink a coffee, and most of all.... Eat some sugary thing to get some energy back into yourself.....! I see you're a Africa twin fan! I Couldn't ride a Africa twin, such i beast would be hard to control isn't it? Thanks for watching again! And commenting, much appreciated!

Keep an eye on the headlight bracket that connects to the bike frame. With all the corrugrations It is a weak point on the bike. Mine broke while doing a trip across the centre. Had to get it repaired in Alice. I read on some forums owners removing the bracket and getting it strenghtened.
@Adventure_Fever
@Adventure_Fever 5 месяцев назад
Yeah, true Chris, thats a good one to point out.... a point i will probably reinforce in the future aswell, on my old bike i Tenere i had some issues whit that aswell.... If this happends in the sticks, i have fencing wire.... not the prettiest option.... but as a bush repair it will hold up :)

Stay safe, be very careful on sandy corrugated sections, glad you are checking your bike over for loose nuts and bolts. It's amazing that Beadell trail blazed a road through that country, keep on pushing 😊❤

I can tell you exactly what happened. Your rear shock over heated and had boiling oil in it and it cavitated itself into a milkshake cream that’s completely useless. When you came around that corner your rear wheel would have been flapping away uncontrollably and that’s why you over steered and came off. Before a trip like that you need to upgrade the suspension to have remote reservoir at a bare minimum.
@paulcregan4647
@paulcregan4647 5 месяцев назад
That’s interesting, I didn’t know that but what you said makes sense
@Adventure_Fever
@Adventure_Fever 5 месяцев назад
Hey! Thanks for having a look at this.... however my shocky is upgraded, and its upgraded and calculated based on my weigth and the weight of my gear.... the shocky has got a seperate oil resevoir aswell, i dont thinks its cause suspension overheating but more the shear weight of my bike and all its gear....
@tonyrdr7207
@tonyrdr7207 4 месяца назад
@@Adventure_Fever😮ouch that looked like it hurt. I agree with what you said re the shock. I rode those tracks for years with a DR650 with the standard basic suspension just fine. You were not pushing the bike hard enough for the shock especially one with a reservoir to have a meltdown. It is just learning to handle the sand and getting enough muscle memory to allow you to relax and ride smoothly and react quickly. We all learn the same way.
