He is playing with a monitor with low blue light feature and it is set on very high i guess, therefore it doesnt hurt his eyes that much..

Probably what mann0re said plus it doesn't really cause problems. If you have eye problems like myopia, it is genetic. It get's worse throughout life because of lack of treatment

@Schutzstaffel yeah, but you strained your eye day after day really close to the screen. That causes your eye "muscles" to tense up and to stay like that. If you had taken time every other hour to rest your eye you'd last a longer time
