$20,000 is an awesome deal!!! Totally trust in LHT's performance.....wondering who has the honor to buy this extremely nice condition S2K. Good Job guys. If I am in the USA, I would definitely and seriously consider buying this car. Hope you have more similar content videos coming up. So enjoy watching this kinda long video!
I'm not so much a Honda guy as a car guy, but I have to say it's not the cars that bring me to your channel. It's watching your attention to detail and the quality of your work. That's the real draw.
I only got $338 in my account, boy, I sure wished I had $20,000 dollars. God bless you guys though for being so awesome. Love LHT.. The Honda S2000 ROCK'S !
Yea brother. Love your vids, buying my first s2k next week. 2004 58k miles !! Checked out with my mechanic all looks well. Just needs a good detailing!
I most certainly want that car, I used to own an AP1 spa yellow and had to sell it unfortunately, would love to own another S2K but currently making payments on a Stg-2 2012 6spd GTI w/99k mi. Not to shabby for being my 1st turbo car but nothing gives me the same feel of driving that S2000.
John, just to show my age, I "double-clutch" when I drive ;) I found it helps clutch/gearbox life. I don't drag race...Oh, and your Gran wants her necklace back...
Love your channel , great work & really informative ….just wish your shop was in Birmingham Uk 🇬🇧 keep up the good work!👍🏻 Will never part with my 2004 s2000!
I just watched five of your videos in a row. I love the attention to detail that you apply to everything. Would love to see a 5th gen prelude show up for some love on the channel in the future!
Awesome car. About the camera it's weird. Shutter speed was probably set on auto. Way too much background blur for what you guys are showing. Colors are off and too bright. Try different settings. 30 fps set to 1/60 shutter, 60 fps 1/120 shutter speed. Hope that helps
Hi John. Im not liking the new camera set up.. Allow me to explain myself. I feel that your guy has set the camera up to give an out of focus background, as you would want for stills photography. However for your purposes, I don't want the background so out of focus because while you are talking, I still want to be able to see what is going on in the background. Sometimes it's useful to see the background with technical videos. The wider angle the lense, the more in focus the whole image, so I'm guessing the 20mm lens must have a wide maximum aperture, probable being used to let more light in. But that creates a more out of focus background and for me, being able to see what's going on in the background outweighs any benefits of using a wider aperture. Hope this helps. Thanks
On my AP2 I did the AP1 swap on the flywheel and swapped the slave to AP1 to delete the Clutch delay valve. Some high horse power and drag racers leave the CDV slave in for the half second delay.
Great video. Great tech tips. I'm not digging the new camera though. Seemed like the camera didn't know what to focus on and spent half the video out of focus.
For the audio, you may want to look in to the Sony ECM-B1M. It has an omnidirectional setting and is able to pick up audio around you while still sounding decent.
Awesome video. I need to polish my stock exhaust like you showed here. It never really crossed my mind but the surface rust on it has always bothered me since you can see it from behind the car.
aye, I picked up my 03 AP1 with 42k miles a few months ago for $29k. The biggest price factor with these seems to be the mileage though, the farther below 100k miles the higher the price skyrockets.
John. I am looking for a S2000. I would love to buy the cat from you. I live in Maryland and I can make arrangements to come down next week. This is not a joke.!!! 🙏🏻❤️
We’ll, I had an overwhelming response to the car. I’m going down the list in time received and giving folks chance to buy. It’s the only fair I can think of.
I’ve been receiving offers 25+ already, I can’t go back on what I said and have to be fair to the folks I’ve been talking to. I don’t want to be greedy or do wrong by someone for extra profit.
Camera settings are okay. Color is good. The depth of field (blurred background) is nice when it’s just you, but in the group shots and driving shots it’s a bit rough to watch.
Wish I could send you this brand new Mugen intake to test John. Admittedly I picked it up mostly for branding (on my original AP1 years ago I had an AEM V2 intake but had always wanted to go full Mugen) but it would be nice to see a back to back compared to the factory airbox mod. Dream though would also be to compare a full stock S2000 with Mugen intake, header and exhaust to see if their full setup makes any power together, or individually piece by piece but I didn't opt for the Mugen exhaust or header since I can't find any trustworthy data for most of this aftermarket stuff.
Seeing the numbers on lht's test are pure gold. Piece by piece vs fully integrated and then tuned to those specific parts are my only question mark. This was of particular question, for me, in regards to their test with the ap1 intake cam.
@@petermontbriand6432 yep - from the research I've done on these things over the years, the only 2 'easy' things that seem to reliably make power without boost are a high-flow catalytic converter (or test pipe) and proper ECU tune. The tune would, I expect, show more gains with additional mods but like we see time and time again for the most part Honda really tried to pull out all the stops on this motor right from the factory. In my case, I owned an 02 AP1 for 8 years and the only mods were an AEM V2 CAI and Hondata intake manifold gasket (also bypassed coolant going to the throttle body). It always got 24-25 mpg for me, and so far this 03 that I have now which is all stock is getting 23mpg so anecdotally it would seem that at least that AEM intake and/or Hondata IM gasket made at least a mileage improvement.
$20k is price? Is she sold? Im in Ormond Beach so close to Tampa and yes PuddyMod is the man!!👍or if gone i found an 06 john can you flash ECU Hondata if I mail to you? Seems many buyers at $20k let us turn in bids for more than $20k
should scan and 3d print your own shift boot plastic clip, and fab your own soft foam with raw materials. eventually there will be a greater need for it once Honda decides to no longer fabricate any more spares. I't already at low volume anyway.
The video looks better than the last one, but both cameras struggle with focus significantly. The quality of this video seems washed out and grainy, still. Not sure what cameras you're using, but what camera you use makes a huge difference in the video quality of your videos. I'd definitely recommend getting a nice one and get it dialed in to match the quality of the work you're doing. Honestly, a newer iPhone would be awesome for your videos. Great in low-light, great stabilization, and you don't have to worry about any of the settings for the most part.
Hi John, I’d love to bring in my AP2 for similar maintenance. I emailed you all but have not heard back yet. I’m sure you guys are slammed! Is that the best way to get in line for an appt?
I’ve been researching on s2ki and cannot find the answer. Do you think the enkei pf01 with staggered setup 225/40 r17 front and 255/40 r17 rear will fit the s2000 with no fender modifications with ohlins coilovers set at ohlins recommendation and will not cause any rubbing?
Hi J ,G and E Could you guys Build me one like that , I would like one that you have gone over and performed all the refurbished bits It can be an older s2000 that's fine just as long as you check it all out and work your magic on it A stock car is ok with me they do sing and look tasteful I'm sure it would be hard to find another car like the tiny dancer but maybe I'm lucky and 20k or under is perfect Thanks JP
@@LHTPerformance Probably but cost a lot of money... I think this bad torque curve is the main problem of the S2000 engine. The K20 seems to be better on this point.
