It's okay to like it that way, but a large number of Samsung users don't like that. Plus, that's what natural mode was for. Vivid was never accurate and was supposed to be for those who preferred more saturated colors. They made a whole roundabout solution for something that they had already solved! Natural for more accurate colors and vivid for more saturated colors. All they did was irritate a whole group of large users who were accustomed to having the options for more saturated colors. How is it fair that both natural and vivid modes were practically the same and didn't offer the saturation that many others liked? It wasn't, and that's why there was a big pushback. On a side note, I personally don't believe that Samsung actually made this change intentionally. People who have looked at the screen under a microscope showed white light leak through for pure colors (red, green, and blue), indicating a bad screen driver issue. Screen driver issues are fixable via software, too. I think Samsung was just trying to buy time with an excuse. It doesn't make sense with the fact that natural and vivid mode already did what they created a solution for. Now you just get extra variability with 3 options.

I've always used the vivid mode. But I find the vivid mode on the twenty four ultra to be just fine. I'll be interested to tweak it a little bit to see but other than that, I don't imagine that I would put it fully up. I've exclusively used android my whole phone life. One of the things I used to always say about Samsung phones before I started using them, was they looked very cartoonish.

Why even have to give Vivid mode, when your priority is to Give natural color only to the customer..! The Truth is Samsung did a mistake, and when they see enough intellectual dumb people like you, then they change their stand from apologizing for a mistake to accepting it like they have done deliberately, to save their image...!! Samsung is making fun out of this people, and they don't know it...!!

Coming from the S22U I feel the same way. The battery performance and flat screen was worth the price alone!

How is the camera in terms of video recording as compared to s 24 ultra ?

Now they just need to start to improve the panels calibration so the grain issues goes away.

The Note 7 was the perfect phone. Such a shame it was ruined by the battery defect.

I expect it was an email that should have turned into a bug fix and someone thought someone else would take care of it but nobody did. The stuff that makes it into production by accident is just nuts sometimes.

I was thinking the same thing but maybe they wanted to see what the customers think first. Samsung CEO or Engineers may have approved it but the customers didn't like it.

​@@capadon77yeah, that's what I was thinking as well. They probably wanted to gauge the response by just doing it and then fix it later if they got enough complaints.

That's technology. You can't figure it all out by yourself, and feedback is needed to make it suitable to your customers' likes n needs. That's why updates do exist. 😉

Exactly the same. Got my S24U almost a month ago now, and I'm blown away. The natural screen causes less eye strain. The Note 8 was one hell of a phone. My go to music player in the gym now to avoid distractions.

I switched from a 12 pro max to a S23 ultra and the Samsung camera was garbage in comparison when trying to capture a moving object! Seems like it’s still an issue on the 24.

My prehistoric Iphone 6 has better pictures of moving subjects compared to S23U I used for 10 months. Samsungs camera software is just terrible, these results should not be acceptable even on 3 times cheaper devices

The screen is for all of them. The camera update is all for the ultra and some for the other S24 models

The grainy display only seems to be affecting some units so if yours is fine then you shouldn’t have anything to worry about

My understanding is that it's a hardware issue and you should try to replace it

I got a replacement, and the grain was on the replacement as well. That phone was produced January 30, 2024 in Vietnam, the same as my first one. Called Samsung, and they had no response to if this was hardware or software. Every single agent I talked to wanted to steer it towards the washed-out colors. The thing that irritates me the most is that they didn't acknowledge the issue or give people an appropriate response in their Samsung Members app or over the phone. People were forced to live with the issue or return their phone even though they just wanted a replacement. But Samsung would only give you a replacement if you purchased another replacement device by using a credit card, returned the first device, and then got paid any difference in pricing for promotional deals. This is a horrible solution, considering many had the issue, and many don't have the money or credit to drop another grand for a replacement.

i went to samsung store where i bought my phone they said that we dont know about this issue you need to wait the next update if it wont be fixed we will replace your screen not your phone... thats very bad its the last time im pre ordering a phone from samsung... i have been using samsung products since the galaxy note 2 and now im very very disapointed@@TechOdyssey

Lucky! I have a Note10 plus so it doesn't get any updates anymore. It's still on Android 12 software. It's a great phine despite this issue. Like my aura Note10 but will have to upgrade this year 😢

@@TechOdyssey yeah, while S23U was your (and many many other honest youtubers) choice for the best phone out there, I kinda remember waiting for those updates that did not come. Just like in those honest dimensions shutter lag is not present on S24U while in reality... well.

I spoke with Samsung and complained about this washed out colour screen and how my experience had been poor with the exynos version. The first phone call to them, I was advised that they are aware of this screen issue and will be updating it to fix it. I needed this done within two weeks as thats when I could still return it if I wanted to. A week later, I was reading some comments elsewhere saying no fix available as this screen was intentionally done. So I called Samsung again to ask if it was true and two of the people that worked there confirmed to me that there will be no update to fix the washed out colours as it was intended to look more natural! Obviously I didn't want that so gave it back. Now, I would've given it back anyway just because of the horrible exynos experience I had but decided to give it a chance. No regrets in giving it back as have purchased an amazing S23 ultra 12g 512g for dirt cheap and am super happy with it. The trouble is with Samsung is being told one thing, only to be told something different is extremely poor service and bad communication from their side. Many gave theirs back after Samsung confirming no update available as it was intentional and are super annoyed in losing out on the original preorder double your storage deal with free galaxy s6 watch. I loved the design of the S24+ but really didn't mind trying an ultra for my very first time especially after my unfortunate experience like others have reported too. I did also prefer the slightly wider and shorter S24 ultra over the S23 ultra but don't think it's really a worthy upgrade especially after only paying £500 ($630) for the my S23 ultra. They are both brilliant devices. Exynos is simply trash and shouldn't go anywhere near s series flagship phones!!!

@@TechOdyssey Can just google "apps crashing on s24 ultra" and see all the complaints. Mostly only games that crash but other app crash too.
