I can't believe how loud that outboard is. I would concoct some kind of noise mitigation.

In real life most people remark how quite the OB is. The mic must be amplifying the sound

All those bridges one after the other reminded me of the four or five roundabouts leaving Charlottetown going east lol I never heard of “moneyshots” before 🤔 will try and google that. Loved the video and the beautiful scenery!!

Once you get used to them, those traffic circles are great. Thanks for the comment Linds

Excellent briefing and narrated passage to the Chesapeake … thanks! My work used to take me on occasion to Andrews AFB and at the weekends I’d always drive over to Chesapeake Bay … from Annapolis to Norfolk, plenty of really great maritime museums, so much to see and did I mention the crab cakes … yum! Bon voyage and hold fast! ⛵️🇨🇦🌞

I still remember that sunset. Of course sunrise was memorable due to the discharge of multiple shotguns as it was duck season.

What beautiful November weather and waters, especially since there is a raging winter storm came through the area last night and today. I see you motoring much more than in Wave Rover 1. The ICE outboard works to your advantage. I originally thought that an electric outboard would have been good since the motor's battery could recharge with solar panels.
@SailingWaveRover
@SailingWaveRover 5 месяцев назад
Having the 6hp OB has really given me so many more choices
@jepomer
@jepomer 5 месяцев назад
@@SailingWaveRover - Having an electric outboard on my Capri 22 made me sail much more rather than motor. Sailing Uma went all the way to the arctic and coasts of Europe with only an electric, so it can be done. But my Catalina 310 has a 25 hp diesel. This one does "spoil" me while giving more options as you stated. It's all in how one wants to travel on one's journey. Taking the inland waterways, stopping at interesting places, AND most importantly traveling back to see Mrs. Rover frequently is good for both of you. You are not on a "around the world" solo non-stop sail. I think your approach is quite enjoyable.

@@SailingWaveRover - Just viewed a time-lapse video of the April 8th total solar eclipse. Rover's Rest will be in the totality path. Will you be taking break from sailing to return home to watch the eclipse with Mrs Rover?

Not sure yet, that late start and the extremely active hurricane season last year caused major havoc to the planning. I will be crossing the North Atlantic this summer.

Is that really a horizontal Hatch ? difficult to tell .. But surely Not a great idea out at sea
@SailingWaveRover
@SailingWaveRover 5 месяцев назад
The Wave Rover hatch is hinged and can be secured from the inside. It is a serious sea going hatch.

Do boats have to motor through the canals? Some of them look wide enough to tack in.
@SailingWaveRover
@SailingWaveRover 5 месяцев назад
Some canals will specify engine power. Bear in mind the strong currents in these canals. You will see me sailing in the C&D canal shortly

That poor little motor. Consider an inboard! 😅
@PineappleAdrift
@PineappleAdrift 5 месяцев назад
Inboard means more hassle, several more holes in the boat, more weight, etc. An electric outboard would be best, get rid of the noise.
@SailingWaveRover
@SailingWaveRover 5 месяцев назад
I agree completely with the first sentence but an electric motor would not have had the range to do what I did in this video. This small inexpensive OB gives me so many options.
