I'm still upset the Republicans were able to stop Obama from electing a Supreme Court justice... And then went right ahead and did the exact opposite thing in 2020. The audacity to do this and somehow not face any consequences...

As someone who works for an agency that has to assist clients with obtaining documents such as their state ID... it is absolutely not guaranteed that everyone has easy access to obtain one. The amount of red tape and bureaucracy to cut through, given someone's circumstances (still in 2024), can be incredibly daunting.

I remember when the Chipotle thing happened. I remember someone saying "Yeah, they have all-natural ingredients and no preservatives, and sometimes natural food goes bad."

It’s amazing what you folks are doing, and I really appreciate it. Small request, if I may. Please stop ordering the playlists backwards. I imagine you’re checking the add to playlist box as you’re uploading content sequentially, starting with episode one. This results in playlists that begin with the last episode of the season and end with the first. Then, inexplicably, they’re left there to fester in that condition, making me wonder whether you folks are trolling us. You can keep the same process but just upload them in reverse order. Or, manually rearrange the playlist after uploading. RU-vid, especially on mobile devices, has very poor controls for building and managing playlists on the user end, and it’s even worse if we’re not the creator of the playlist. They’re too busy shoving endless Shorts in our faces. For seasons 1-3 I just made my own playlists in the correct order, but it’s quite tedious. I have to find each episode, tap the three dot thing, tap add to playlist, then tap the correct playlist (which I’ve screwed up several times because reasons). And since seasons are pretty long, it means I have to do this like 100 times. Except, it ends up being more than that because I lose track of which episode I just added. It’s devastating. Please, for the love of whatever it is people still have left to love, rearrange the existing ones and upload new ones in the correct order. If you do this, I swear I’ll vote for whatever bird or buy whatever ass cake you tell us to. Thank you.

Viewing these old episodes is such an interesting thing to do. Chipotle's stock price went crazy high by 2024 . At its peak, it went above 3200 dollars. And then it had its stock split. They bounced back from their debacle.

Oliver's last skit reminds me of the "Dancing Dildos" song from the movie, "The First Nudie Musical."

As a European I can't fathom the idea of people not having any form of picture ID and it actually is crazy that you can vote without one. Where I live having one is mandatory, you need to have it not only to vote but for bunch of other things. All that being said I admit I barely use mine but the idea of not even owning one is just so unreal and dystopian to me. America really is a very weird and specially crazy place that never fails to shock me...

If an insignificant amount of people lack voter ID, the state should be able to afford the insignificant cost of providing one for free on request. If that cost ends up being significant, then clearly you cannot just place the burden on disenfranchised people.

If your law is going to disproportionately harm black and latino people, you know this, and yet you still keep trying to pass it, then we can safely assume those who still want that law are in fact racists.

John failed to mention that in Wisconsin, Alabama, and Mississippi you don't have to have a special voter ID card to vote. They make them, yes, but only for people who don't want a state photo ID for whatever reason. You can use your drivers license or state ID to vote in those states. You aren't required to use the voter ID card thats just one other form of ID you can use thats completely free. Since, driver licenses and state ID's cost money, they offer voter ID's completely free. This was to ensure people who can't afford a state ID or didn't want one could still vote. But, John is making it out like its the only ID you can vote with. It makes sense that office would only be open very few hours. They aren't charging anything for the service and how many people don't have a photo ID nowaday to use instead. There would be very few people and I doubt it would be open year-around again because everyone has a photo ID no matter what John claims. So, very few people need it. But, I notice John spins a lot of topics this way. He uses the bits he wants and doesn't mention the rest of the story. I blame the writers but John is on the writing staff or so the credits shows. I think its deceitful but this is a comedy show, its not meant to be taken seriously only for entertainment. John is a comedian, someone who tells jokes not someone to be taken seriously, its not factual information.

I had to get a state id because my license expired and I was fighting a traffic violation that temporarily suspended my license. The only place to get one was the Office of Motor Vehicles, which cost $18, or I could go to a notary/title transfer place and pay $55 for the same thing. I got in line at the OMV here in New Orleans at 5:45 in the morning, over two hours before they opened, but I was still behind a couple dozen other people. After waiting five hours, they said they were unable to issue any physical cards because their printer had broken… I tried for the next few days, losing time at work, and I eventually had to pay the extra money to get one from the title company. Not everyone is able to take time off of work, just to stand in line at the DMV all day, only to find out you don’t have the required documents to get the id The Constitution says that elections cannot interfere with a citizen’s right to vote by using burdensome requirements.

Don't typically side with republicans , but asking someone to prove that they're an american citizen before they vote is common sense. Im Canadian.We can't vote without our I.D.

As a person from a country (Poland) where everybody has an id (like a proper id card not a driving licence and stuff, having one is mandatory tho the penalties are not very harsh) the voter id law debate was as stupid for me then as it is now like the problem is not in the ids! Its in your fucking bureaucracy! i know its easier to say than to fix but I'm truly astonished how US for a major world superpower is such a broken country. Like yes we also complain about the bureaucracy here but it works well enough I just went to get a new id in july and it was ready by august! fr US get your shit together

I do not know one person who doesn't have an ID. Even the hermit that lives without electricity or running water has one. I have no idea how he does it in winter in SE Ohio but he does. I have photos and you would be shocked to see them. You can't do anything anymore without an ID. Its required for EVERYTHING except voting in some areas. Here in Ohio I've never not been asked for an ID to vote, it seems crazy that you could vote without one. I turned 18 in 1998 and I couldn't live without an ID, its like a cellphone nowadays you need it to live in society. There are even apps you can't even use without an ID. I have several banking/money apps that all required one. Given the amount of illegal immigrants that come through our border every year, it would seem foolish not to require some proof of ID to vote.
