Uncensored in-car footage from the crash that unfortunately knocked S3 Racing and their New Can-Am Maverick X3 out of the Best in the Desert Vegas to Reno over the weekend! Luckily no one was hurt!
That sucks. Makes me think that some kind of forward facing range finder might help... would be a challenge to make one that can pierce through the silt but even if it kinda worked, it would be helpful.
One thing i would like to add to this here, the racers say "Get out, we are going to die". This is ABSOLUTELY THE WRONG THING TO DO. We race Best in The Desert, and when you get in a crash rule #1 is STAY IN THE VEHICLE. DO NOT GET OUT! Getting out of a vehicle in a situation like this is what gets people killed.
Incorrect. We were at higher risk staying inside the car when in the center of the track when trophy trucks are coming through just minutes later. Fortunately for us we have been racing for many years so we KNOW the proper way to wait for clean air and no engine noises before we get out of the car and safely get far away from the center of the track. If a person was to do something ignorant jump out of the car in the blind dust while other race vehicles are coming by then they would be at extremely high risk of being run over. Thankfully for us we have a significant amount of race experience and a higher race IQ than most.
@@Battle_Axe_Jones Ok, i get what your saying now. We too have been racing for many years. It seemed like what you were saying was to immediately get out and run from the car. We all know in the dust thats a VERY VERY bad idea, and many have been hit and killed from doing that. Possibly add this into the next video. As you know, with all the newbies, we need to teach them right!
