glad it's not just me, lmao. i wish she were kinder to herself, she's alarmingly pretty in that fit (i hope this doesn't mean my type is 'reform candidate') and has stage presence to match.

Same, I had no idea how she looked like, and I am loving it.

I can do it if given enough alcohol, or the license by being in the company of at least two hyped up children, but it'd be nice to just turn it on at will.

You get to see a snippet of Devon in an episode of "Well There's Your Problem" (the one on the sinking of the "Herald of Free Enterprise" car ferry) early on. It's very short.

There are a handful of clips of Devon in more recent WTYP episodes. About half of them are them lamenting the lengths of episodes

Devon mostly exists only as silent and deeply sarcastic text in my mind. This was a treat!

​@@tahreythere's too many layers to explain fully​, but Devon is referencing Natalie "Contrapoints" Wynn. A screenshot from one of her videos is circulating as a meme lately where she says "They don't want power, they only want to critique power." Nova is also referencing something Natalie said "I sometimes feel like the last of the old school transsexuals." Natalie and Abi used to be close. Now they aren't. People that have followed them both for a long time have seen bits and pieces, and put together a narrative, but it's not really any of our business and neither of them talk about it, so I'll leave it there

I kinda feel they shouldn't mean the same thing and the older one should be destigmatised for situations where it'd be more appropriate.

@@tahrey it was part of a longer piece (twitter thread? idk, its been a while). She was talking about the imho real phenomenon where older trans women see their transition differently to younger/more recently transitioned ones. Older women might think of themselves as once having been men/cross dressers or only come out if/when they pass. Attitudes and language have changed a lot very rapidly in trans circles, like the widespread adoption of Transgender over Transsexual. I didn't think she was trying to say there was a problem with modern attitudes, just that she felt out of touch and more aligned with "old-school" attitudes. But it was very poorly thought out thing to say, and this is a fairly charitable reading. She did used to post a lot without thinking

@@gingganggoolie I guess I can kind of sympathise with that, seems to happen with me even when I believe I've thought something through well... Not sure how true the idea is, might be more of a personal experience being extrapolated onto others, but oddly I can also empathise with that kind of feeling, if only because of general ongoing confusion over my own identity and just seeing how far i can very gradually and subtly edge into the NB region before coming to any decision or statement. Like, by no means saying people don't have that experience and feeling, but at the same time I don't think it's universal _or_ exclusive. Maybe just a shift in the balance of attitudes and viewpoints, brought on by greater freedom and visibility so self identification can happen earlier. But, having seen assertion of a trans identity by a preschooler with little mass media access... kinda makes me think that could have happened at any point over the last few thousand years too.

Problem is it just makes me think of the M-substitute character from Knight Rider...
