Congratulations on your new toy. Been a Toyota tech for 40 years you can't go wrong. Make sure you got all the service records and make sure the timing belt was done. Other than that 👍 great job.
I didn't see a timing belt service sticker on that engine cover. At 125k miles it's ready for it. Previous owner probably didn't want to put a thousand into it and then sell it on.
@@TheOverlanderNextdoor Also, check the lower ball joints. It the most important on these trucks. They can last a long time but if they fail it’s very dangerous, use OEM ONLY. I have a 2004 Tundra double cab that I have owned for 9yrs, love it! It’s fully built for overland and I’m going to Moab Utah next month, super excited! Congrats on the new rig! God bless!
I swapped a old motorcycle with a friend for his 01 Tundra. That old truck has 264,000 miles its paint is faded on the roof and hood and the clear coat is peeling off the bed of the truck. She runs like a top and I just rattle can clear coat all over it to preserve its petena. I have nothing but a smile on my face every time I get behind the wheel. Congrats on your beautiful old Tundra that will last you from now till who knows!
Arid climate of New Mexico keeps these vehicles alive forever. The only real problem is dry rot of rubber - so control arm bushings and vacuum hoses are a required replacement. My 25yr old Toyota truck still has the original stickers on the frame. I have a extended cab, and you made a great choice! They're troopers, as long as you maintain them.
I'm so glad you rescued your dog. Cause the video I saw you. Karen him down the road. He's coming a long way and he loves you. He will definitely protect you If he had to so thank you for rescue and ham
Tuba has come such a long way since I first saw you adopt him. Good things happen to good people. ..And now you've got Frankie.. Karma I think. Taffy is the cutest Lil One ;)
Love the new ride and as others have said Frankie will treat you right as long as you treat her right. Love the progress of Tuba, he is turning into quite the boy. Peace Out.
A few years ago, we dropped off our Jeep Wrangler to get a new transmission. We later picked it up and drove my wife’s 4Runner to their shop. The shop owner asked how we liked her Toyota. He said they NEVER see any Toyotas with transmission issues. Another friend with a 4Runner has over 350K miles on his. Just routine maintenance and normal wear items (brakes, bets, etc.). Your truck should serve you well.
Congratulations on your Tundra. I've had a couple Tacoma's and now have a 2017 Tundra myself. Love them all. Great trucks. Can't wait to see the build you do with it.
I have always wanted to build an adventure style pop up topper with 2ft slides on each side with windows.. It would totally open it up inside.. Push the slides in and the top would lower down over it and be almost cab level.. maybe a ft higher than the cab??!! Just a thought!
Hello, I congratulate you on your new truck. I started watching maybe three videos and I saw when your other car broke down. Good luck and thank you for sharing your adventures. Well, we have to modify the tundra.
Get the bruteforce fab bumpers from Billy. I have them and they are great! The big single swing out holds spare and two Jerry’s and my propane. It has a fold down stainless table as well. Then you will have to get archive garage leafs packs to handle the weight 😅 lol! It never ends but it works great!
Love your new ride Julianna! Always keep a bag of what you need, to spend a night or three in your vehicle! Drive, & play carefully, be kind, & keep your smiles on!
I love the tundra. You should be able to find a used topper for it. When you are finally making your millions from you tube. You can get Mark to build you a Kimbo for it!!!
In New Zealand at mo petrol's around 2.80 ltr couldn't afford to start that over here let alone run it. Yous are so lucky fuel prices over there ant as bad as here. Anything Toyota is usually pretty good. Fingers crossed you have a good run out of Frankie 🙂
Congrats on the new tundra! That’s a great generation right there. Not sure if I told ya or not, but if ya wanna avoid dealing with those damn mice in your engine bay, take a squirt bottle and fill it with some peppermint oil and water (shake vigorously when spraying) and spray it all over your engine and some of those tasty electrical components. Vermin hate peppermint and will keep ya from what happened to the FJ.
Are you still going to be taking your trailer? What are you thinking of for the truck bed? An already built camper or a shell you build to meet your needs? If a shell, there's cab high models to hi rise versions that will give you more room yet not affect the performance of the Tundra. Or you an check out 4 Wheel Camper's Hawk(?) model. A pop up shell you build out your way. Good luck!
I would love to know how much you paid. How many miles? What you plan on doing with it. And how you found it..and I live in ABQ...glad you made it home safely..
