Bob fantastic video cant ever recall seeing the Aircon on the bench. In Uk almost impossible to get good A6 compressor so just changed to Fenair system
Excellent video. I posted a link to it on both the Jag Lovers and Jaguarforums forums. Look forward to a detailed look inside this fall when you do Old Tex. One mod I made to my 87 and 95 XJS' was to block off the outlets going thru the console to the back seat area. This significantly increases the output of air from the center and dash end vents when using the A/C. Nobody sits in the back anyway!
This is great Bob, the cc system in the Jags is a complex piece of kit and there's not much out there that covers the later versions. Btw love your bench test setup, well done.
I'm wondering if the MkIII is identical to what's in the DB7 - as I suspect Aston still has NOS parts available. I wonder if the fiber optics could be replaced with a LED ring on a PCB. BTW those piano board connector numbers have been documented on the Jag Lovers forums in case at some point a DIY diagnostic setup is ever created.
I would have liked to see in detail the internal repairs such as the evaporator . When u do remove the AC unit from Old TEX maybe u can include that . I do own a 1990 Jaguar XJS V12 HE coupe so it would be helpful . I live in Yuma , AZ where it is absolute to have AC.
Great Video. I'd like to see the internals work one day. TO further clarify the man / auto. IN manual the duct temperature is set by the dial. In auto, the dial selects the interior temperature setting with the system adapting as required. cheers!!
Incredible demonstration of how the climate control system works. I don't know if trying to sort the climate control on my 94 is scarier or taking on pulling a cylinder head for what I suspect to be a failing head gasket. Can't wait for a video on the tevis antilock brakes.
Wow, thanks ! Would you share the plans for that thing you mounted the air conditioner on? Mine was okay until I went through a hands free high pressure car wash... 😢
