I have been looking at your videos of the ABC repairs on your S55 AMG. That was great work you did on changing out the rear hydraulic line. I'm glad everything is working for you. In one video I asked if you had changed the tandem pump and you said you had not but in other videos you talk about ordering the tandem pump from California. Did you install the tandem pump you ordered? I'm surprised you didn't make a video of that changeout. Maybe you were able to salvage the original tandem pump and it is still in the car?

I did order a new pump but never put it on because the original is still working great. If I do change it I will be making a video.

You must have found that you didn't need to change the tandem pump but I wasn't sure. My pump makes a noise I don't like but it has sounded like that since I bought the car. Nothing to do but keep driving it.

I have an 04’ S55 AMG. My rear valve block looks different than yours. Your valves on the rear are just like on the front valve block. Every valve is independent and separate from the other ones. Mine on the rear the valves are attached together. This is the part # A2203201258

Any issues with the parts purchased now that it’s been a while? Would you trust the aftermarket Reinz hydraulic lines form Fcp euro? They say they’re made in Germany. Any advice looking back? Thank you!!

I’m pretty sure the hydraulic line that I replaced said Mercedes-Benz right on it. It’s been about 10,000 miles and I drive the car hard every time I get in it and I’ve had zero issues with anything I’ve replaced. Also FCP euro offers lifetime warranties on all of their stuff so you can’t really go wrong. Thank you for watching

Did you use the $80 lines from Fcp euro?

I don’t know if the part numbers would be the same for an S 55. I got all the parts from FCP euro just go look on their site that’s how I found the correct line for mine. Good luck and thanks for watching

I have a 2003 s55 amg , every time I shut the car off my car quickly goes to sit low ! Mostly in the front ! When I start the car 10-15 seconds it goes to normal height ! I tried reading from a mb2 obd scanner couldn’t get anything , do you think it’s the valve block and needs to be cleaned out and o-rings to be changed ?
@ProjectShopFl
@ProjectShopFl 4 года назад
Most likely yes. If you are not loosing ABC fluid then it’s leaking internally back to tank. Could be the seals on the locking valves on the valve block assembly. Considering the age of the car I’d say your seals are shot. Mine were brittle and falling apart. It’s about $100 in seals and a half days work if you are mechanical, plus new fluid.

My car hit a bumb in the highway and hit the pulsation damper, and cracked the top. You have any tips on removing the pulsation damper? Or should i remove the whole valve block too? I have a 2003 cl500
@ProjectShopFl
@ProjectShopFl 4 года назад
Mine was from a 2004 S55 AMG it might be a little different from yours, but if it was me I’d pull the hole valve block out and thoroughly inspect for damage
@NPAPOLICE978
@NPAPOLICE978 4 года назад
Project Shop Fl yeah so mine is located in the passenger side behind the right front wheel, next to the oil pan. And so what happen was that, the top portion of the pulsation damper cracked open a bit so most of the abc fluid is gone but still hasnt lowered yet, and still has a bit of fluid in the reservoir.
@NPAPOLICE978
@NPAPOLICE978 4 года назад
Project Shop Fl i also bought the pulsation damper, so im just hoping id only have to remove the bolt that holds the damper on without removing then whole block as well.

The car has not lowered because of the locking valves on the ABC valve block assembly. That’s how the car stays up when the ABC pump is not running and making pressure. You must have good seals but I would not drive if fluid came out. You will run the pump dry and could cause damage.

Good luck, hopefully that was the only damage
