Me and my family have been attacked by armed gangs twice , but they were not able to get at us. Thank goodness for my neighbours, and Leon Potgieter in particular.
What hypocrisy, instead of accusing Israel of crimes against humanity, they should take a hard look at themselves. Farm murders have been going on for years and that without provocation from the poor farmers. What a disgrace!

I am from Nepal & I have been reading up on the farm murders in SA. This is truly horrific & unimaginable. I have been to SA 5 times & travelled through all the 9 Provinces by road & was very lucky I made it out alive. I shudder when I think of the horror these innocent people have faced. My prayers & thoughts go out to your community. You are very brave to be able to live every day knowing that anything could happen at any time. More people in the World need to know about this & condemn these attacks. Since unemployment is so high among the Whites, I think farmers should employ more from the white community , to live & work on their farms. Atleast they would be safer when there are more people that can be trusted. I do not mean any disrespect but these attacks look like they stem from racial hatred & colour & are instigated politically. Stay safe & stay strong , beautiful people.
My parents both nearly lost their lives to a brutal home invasion in 2018. This is an issue of national security. Attacking the very people who grow your food is pure evil. The SA government needs to send in military patrols to assist in every farming community. This is utterly horrendous and unacceptable.
SA has changed since 1994 and not for the better, apartheid wasn't the answer but the reality of today's SA is just awful........yet world's media ignore the reality, i wonder why 🤔 🇿🇦

I guess you have forgotten the role the ANC played in the mass murder of African miners that just wanted a fair living wage that the ANC promised they would get. The cities, the farms, the villages are overrun with crime, yet indoctrinated fools like you see nothing. It belongs to the farmers now, that is how things work. Besides, you have no clue what to do with the land and you should be thankful that you still have real farmers that not what they are doing. SA is not that far from economic collapse.
Farmers must learn to carry their firearms.Then you'll have at least a better chance.As soon as they see they getting killed they might think twice to attack the farmers .

This is such good reporting. My heart bleeds to hear about these terrible incidences. I pray God heals the victims of these horrific crimes, but may God also heal the South African nation. Healing is necessary in order to move on from the past. The South African farmers are truly good at what they do for the Agriculture sector. Could skills share and transfer perhaps be a way in which the country can come together i.e white farmers teaching black community about agriculture, sustainability? Its just such a sad state of affairs and whats sad is that these issues are still prevalent in the country.

yes stay far away as possible from the country, just in this year 2 German tourists have been killed,one close to the famous Kruger national park, another one in Cape Town, his body still hasn't been found after months, but of his belongings have, last year alone around 500 farmers were killed, thats, why i know of lots of people arond the world, say now if thy just new before 1994 that them supporting the anti-apartheid movement was going to turn out to this they never would of supported the movement, and realise now how the governments lied to them about the apartheid regime, yes apartheid was wrong, but still, only a small group of people in South Africa supported apartheid, but not the majority as its been told,

I lived through late 70s early 80s Miami. Went through the Cuban crime wave from the Mariel boatlift onwards. You weren't safe in the streets, school or at home. It was brutal. To this day I have "street sense". So if you're out with me and I say shit's about to go down that means you better leave. I don't care how calm it seems. And I am now sitting on top of a powder keg here in the States. People are naive if they think the worst is over. I don't trust hardly nobody, never will.

Why doesn't The United States offer these folks Asylum? They'd need to liquidate what they have, but come to America and grow organic heritage/heirloom foods. But that probably would not be accepted.

Unfortunately, that is not a simple answer. Like any other country, you need to look at history. History in South Africa has not ended. This goes a very long way back. In saying that, politicians in the country aggravate many matters between black and white. The only politician I respected and still respect is Nelson Mandela because he did not have any intentions of driving hate, he did his part to unite the country. If you look into things, you will find the answer to your question. If I gave you the simple answer, you may not learn anything and understand this program to a larger extent.

It was a wealthy country because whites were in charge and because of Apartheid lol. Before white Europeans arrived the place was primitive tribes. Millions of Africans from surrounding countries have since flooded in because of the wealth and infrastructure the whites built and corrupt Africans are in charge.
Apartheid ended over 30years ago. No one who was in power at that time is in any way in any position of power. Apartheid cannot continue to be blamed for the absolute shit show that has governed SA since the early 1990s.

This seems like it was just focused on white farmers and not farmers as a whole thus making it racially motivated rather than robberies taking place all over the countries whether cash in transit house or farm robberies. But i guess other people saw an opportunity to capitalize on the victim's pain and trauma to possibly get money instead of rallying the different groups together to combat crime in these country. It would help if you look through the full duration of the documentary before making a comment. It is mostly white farmers who is attacked and murdered. You are right that South Africa is riddled with crime which needs to be addressed by all. Unfortunately, our current government is condoning the violence and divisions by not putting capable ministers in cabinet.
These attacks aren’t about robbery, they are about racial hatred and cruelty. The people on the farms who are attacked are almost exclusively white,and those attacking are almost exclusively black.
Why would anyone want to live/survive in these conditions ? All for a little bit of gold and silver, isn't a little piece of mind worth more than that ?

God have mercy on us all, this brings tears to my eyes. So much evil and injustices in the world and it's sad because people a lot of times have the mentality as long as im living a decent, It doesn't matter how the oppressed are living life .Your living good because you have white skin and since so much inequality and poor living conditions are happening to the black African-American when they feel they're working just as hard with. An unlivable reward.they're infuriated, feeling desperation to feed. Their families and provide decently for them. So outrage over inequality, unfair wages and definitely unfair housing is fueling this violence in my oppinion.
Mine is a very late comment on this video, but I will make it, regardless. I think Farm attacks are indescribably horrendous. I also think they are, in part, an unforeseen and long-lasting legacy of Apartheid, and all the systemic terror, marginalization, and disenfranchisement that it entailed. The rage and sense of powerlessness experienced by those victims, and their descendants, isn't easily erased. However, it does not help that modern-day political figures appear to be - even obliquely - exploiting this trauma and encouraging violence against fellow citizens. Killing and attacking the community that essentially feeds the nation does nothing to benefit anyone, including the assailants. It serves to reopen deep rifts and feelings of hatred and distrust within a population whose attempts at reconciliation were initiated not that long ago. It's altogether sad, I wish I had viable solutions to offer.
Thank you for your insightful comments. Unfortunately to kill innocent farmers in the most horrendous ways will not achieve anything. Millions of South Africans have been uprooted, exploited and "killed" through criminal actions and cadre deployment by the current government. Their "legacy" has impoverished the country and destroyed the economy, hospital services, infrastructure, power supply, water. This new apartheid is far worse than anything which has happened in the past.
Can’t white farm owners place their farms in trusts with themselves and a group of aspiring African farmers as beneficiaries under the condition everyone live and work on the farm? The farm owners still can profit off the land but the natives get their share and the white owners get neighbors/small communities that live with that that can offer some level of protection/safety.
But that what they were doing in Rhodesai White farmers were building homes for their workers and didn't have to pay it back they recieved wages and still fund their small subsistence farming , my uncle lived in Rhodesia he said the smaller subsitence farmers couldn't provide commercial farming they didn't know how to maintain a large crops so the white farmers in partnership taught them so eventually they had the skills and supported resources to provide commercial farming they only knew at the time subsistence farming but when mugabe used rhe false propaganda the white farmers stole the land and they are enemies that's why Zimbabwe is where it is now today Communism is a corrupted ideology it only benefits the politicians.
