The first part of our July and August 2024 trip to South Australia, the Simpson and Hay River Tracks with our 2012 Land Rover Discovery 4 towing our Track TVan.
This episode covers the 2,500km from Mackay to Cameron Corner.
We had a short visit to the Minerva Hills National Park in Springsure, a stop in Roma to look at the sculptures, a night at Charlotte Plains Station, a couple of nights at Kilcowera Station and a night at Cameron Corner. We also spend a night in Rolleston, St George and Wanaaring on the way.
More importantly, we stopped and had a beer (and generally a meal) at the Rolleston Hotel, Eulo Queen Hotel, Royal Mail Hotel at Hungerford, Warrego Hotel at Fords Bridge and the Carmon Corner Store.
Other stops included Hoods Lagoon in Clermont, Emerald, Kapuna Fishing Park in St George, Cunnamulla and Tibooburra.
