Wrong. Hawk Mk120 is a Hawk specifically designed with more hardpoints than usual to carry missiles, bombs, rockets and a gun pod, plus a few other things. It was designed to be used as a "Lead-in fighter trainer" as well as a light fighter jet.
IKR, if you think about it, even a targeted insurgency of militants could overwhelm our defense forces. This has literally happened all over the continent. We need a strong and competent army.
Don't lie, because those Hawks have hardpoint to mounts missiles, why would you train pilot to become a combat fighter pilot with a machine that is not a fighter and thereafter you want to strap that same pilot to the Gripen which is an expensive fighter pilot doesn't make sense. You train in a fighter jet to become a fighter pilot.
These could still be used as fighter jets! More powerful thank some entire air forces in Africa. But yes, I would love to see us get our strong and very powerful fighters back into operation.
