The Pipes and Drums of the Saanich Peninsula Pipe Band played a small set in the hangar of the BC Aviation Museum's Open House on August 20 2023. The museum, located adjacent to Victoria International Airport is home to many aircraft, interactive displays, and programs for all ages. After the CoVid 19 lockdown limited space was available for band practices with adequate spacing. Band members who were also members of the museum society arranged for the SPPB to access the facility when not in use for occasional practices. This was key to keeping spirits and attendance up, maintaining playing ability, and helping the band survive through a difficult period. We are grateful to the BCAM society and were delighted to be able to play for them as a symbol of our support and appreciation.
