SAARBRÜCKEN: Knife attack on regional train! 21-year-old seriously injured - What we know so far!
A man suddenly attacked a 21-year-old with a knife on a train in Saarland and seriously injured him. The suspect was arrested, the federal police in Saarbrücken announced on Tuesday. According to the police, the incident occurred on a regional train on Monday evening shortly before the stop in Saarbrücken.
A man who was still unknown at the time is said to have stabbed the 21-year-old and injured him in the neck. When the vehicle stopped, he fled in an unknown direction. The victim told investigators on the scene that he had been attacked completely unexpectedly. The 21-year-old was taken to hospital and his life was not in danger.
Emergency services cordoned off the crime scene and confiscated a suspected knife and video recordings. A few hours later, the suspect turned himself in to the federal police in Saarbrücken. He was arrested and a hearing before an investigating judge was planned for later on Tuesday. The motive for the crime was initially unclear.
