To the SAB chassis I and my dad bought us a SAB Havok. We wanted to make the first flight a week ago, but the quality of the landing gear bolt was so bad that it was damaged and bent when driving on a turf runway. The chassis is still well retracted and extended, however, the steering no longer worked. Otherwise, the Havok is doing very well so far, the model is well painted and arrived at us without any defects except for the chassis A lot of fun with the Lizard is definitely great fun to fly
The p130 won’t fit unfortunately. You will have to notch out the former slightly, as the can is slightly too large. You could also raise it up, but probably need atleast 30mm over the current mounting points. Surprisingly, the TV control arms are low enough, that even after notching it out it doesn’t rub the can. The p130 is an amazing motor for this plane, the latest RCJI tests showed it put out 16kg of thrust (34lbs) and my finished weight was about 17ish lbs. 2:1 for a 3D jet is a blast! Great video!
Martin Pickering -great video! CG wasn’t a major issue and I ended up running a 3300 3s life up front, and a 3100 2s for RX. I ran the ECU, RX and lipo on the center tray, and pump, shutoff valve, life bat, and retract controller on the forward tray. 3600-4K is probably max size for battery if you want it to fit in front of uat. The angle of the canopy is a little more drastic than it seems and mine almost rubs with the 3300 (spektrum smart to be exact). I also created a false bottom with carbon/balsa sheet in front of the tank (maybe 50x80mm?) where I was originally going to mount electronics. P130 rocks in this plane, I have only got a few flights so far, but easily got 4:30 with about 30-35% left. Keep in mind wasn’t hammering it yet, but consumption shouldn’t be an issue. FYI, retracts seem ok and sturdy, but electron does have a set of ER30 that will bolt right in. Was going to try the stock stuff for a bit, but it’s an option if you desire. Nice build and best of luck!
Cool video! BTW, since you asked on the live Q&A, I'm Jandro from Barcelona, we met at Furtivos (I was flying the foamy Eurofighter). ;) Friends with Emilio and Raquel too!
I'm hoping you will have a video of the radio setup for this plane. You say you use no switches for the vector thrust, interested in how you set this up. Thx for the videos from Canada!
Is there a beefier set of retracts, or wheels available for this kit so it can take off/land on grass?. The videos i've seen have been on tarmac, and that front wheel doesn't look too tough.
Hola Gonzalo, tienes la tienda mia, casi exclusivo de Powerbox, y como piloto de fábrica tal vez se pueda considerar mas oficial. www.PickeringRC.com si no ves lo que necesitas, me avisas y hablamos!
I want the launch vehicle, whatever the hell you call it? It was @ JetPower 2019! Why don't you show that Martin? The plane itself is SoSo or Asi-Asi, not very aestheticaly pleasing.
