In Scandinavia there are museums that have vikingships at their display. In my part of Sweden there is a museum called Foteviken that reenacts the life of vikings every summer. We also have a Vikingship formation in stones at Kåseberga. Nobody knows if it´s a burialground or an old calender but it is popular to visit. Even in my hometown Malmö there is an old settlement that was dug out at Svågertorp. When it is thundering we say that Thor is out riding his chariot.

Facts regarding the discovery of America, it was actually the Icelandic Viking Leif Eriksson who first discovered America. This took place in the year 1000. Which is long before Marco Polo, who was long claimed to be the discoverer of America.

Vikings were, believe it or not very clean people that took care of how the looked.

Hey Jay, i just wanted to let you know that you're not alone in your thinking of how America is viewed nowadays. Of course we, America, have had our hands in our fair share of s**t throughout our history, but our country is not unique to this. America is still relatively young and she's going to make mistakes along the way but to suggest America contains a special, unique evil is irresponsible and very ignorant. I served our country (7 years, discharged because of an irregular heartbeat developing) and to see the blatant disrespect to the one flag that allows them all the freedoms to do so. It's heartbreaking. I just developed a new respect for you man, thank you.
