"Lejonet Från Norden" performed by Sabaton in Karlskrona, November 2012. "Karolinens Bön" (bonus clip) on the Swedish Empire Live Blu-ray/DVD was recorded at the same concert. Enjoy!
The lyrics translation are just so much more powerful in swedish, in the english version it's just "Lion come forth, come from the north" but in swedish its translated to "lion come forth, from gunpowder and smoke" as well as a lot more just way more powerful lyrics
the english lyrics are just a rough outline of the swedish lyrics, if at all for some songs. En Livstid i krig is about a Swedish soldier who fears the battlefield, which is "a baptism of blood" and fears how he will be remembered after being sent to die in the war. The english version is just someone questioning the war and how queens and kings send men to die. Powerful but you only get to know it when you either understand Swedish (which really helps) or use English subtitles which work pretty well
***** yeah snowy had to learn all the songs in a few days. Very short time indeed. So i guess thats why he changed the tempo! BEAST thats what he is damnit!
The Lion From The North A time of religion and war, Legends tell the tale of a lion This beast in the shape of a man, With a dream to rule sea and land And all those who stand in his way, Will die, by God and victorious arms With the righteous that follows him south, Once more, set ashore, to war Legends have taught, battles fought, This lion has no fear at heart Lion come forth, come from the north, Come from the no-o-o-o-ort Gustavus! Adolphus! (Gustavus Adolphus go forth, libera, impera) Libera et impera! Acerbus et ingens! (Acerbus et ingens leo, libera, impera) Augusta per augusta A storm over Europe unleashed, Dawn of war, a trail of destruction The power of Rome won't prevail, See the catholics shiver and shake The future of warfare unveiled, Showed the way, that we still walk today Der Löwe aus Mitternacht comes, Once more, he is here, for war Stories of old, truth unfold, Control over Europe he holds Freedom he'll bring, Lion and king, lion and king Mighty eagle rule alone Liberator claim the throne Lion from the northern land Take the scepter, from its hand Oh, oh, oh you lion from the north, Ooooooooh you lion from the north
