Great reaction! This is one of the best songs on the Carolus Rex album according to me, and it only exist on the Swedish version.

I am pretty sure this song doesn't have an English version. Some of the songs on the Carolus Rex album (Swedish side) are exclusive.

Actually, every song in Carolus Rex minus Ruina Imperii has an English version

Carolus was killed in southern Norway, and his body was carried home to Stockholm. General Armfelt then left Trondheim and took the northern army home, but many perished in a severe winter storm on the high mountains along the border... That was the end of some hundred years as a warring empire!

I'm so happy that you checked out this song and finally got to see a lyric video made by Piscator but damn that final second pause hurt my soul : D You managed to miss one of the best parts of the song when the two chorus' line up to end the song (and Sweden's time as a great power) with a bang.

I can recommend reacting to Sabaton - Soldier of 3 armies or Sabaton - Inmate 4859. Both are great songs with interesting history.

For me this song is painful. Love it but its emotional.. There where quite a few soldiers from the villages where my family is from, who froze to death during the "Carolean death march". I have a book, with a map, where there are crosses beside the farms where the lost soldiers came from. Some background to the song: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carolean_Death_March

They don't use latin anymore and have especially on great war album kiss ass usa songs and flag. I do get it...make more money but this kind of metal won't ever be very popular in usa, nor any metal. And they used deutsch earlier...all in all great war is probably my favorite album despite kiss ass usa. Like usa came so late...once again and their impact was non existent. IT was already done. WW2 is whole chapter when Usa actually has big impact and that wasn't omaha beach...what most of usa ppl tend to refer. It was economical help for soviet...

Well, there are, as I see it, only 4 Sabaton songs that actually contain some latin lyrics. Attero Dominatus, Wehrmacht, Lion From the North, and Resist and Bite. (No Primo Victoria doesn't count) Ruina Imperii and Dominium Maris Baltici, have no latin in them, apart from their names. There are 8 other songs that have non English words in them (not counting citties or people). Most of them have just 1 word, or a single sentence in a non English language. I can give you "Caroleans Prayer" and "The Royal Guard", since they contain a fair amount of Swedish.
