SABATON Shiroyama Reaction 

This song is about the Satsuma rebellion and specifically the final battle of Shiroyama that was the inspiration for the story in the movie the last samurai with Tom Cruise.

“Shiroyama” is about the Battle of Shiroyama, where between 350-500 Samurai stood against 30,000 Imperial Japanese army troops. The battle resulted in the Samurai being wiped out, and marked the end of the Satsuma Rebellion and the end of the the Samurai class.

What’s funny is the successors to the Samurai - the officer class of the Imperial Japanese Army/Navy basically became aristocrats of their own after the end of the Meiji era, especially in the Shōwa Era

I actually like the Samurai and I hated the end of the film The Last Samurai. I am pleased that in Japan that there are some ancestors of the Samurai who are teaching the Japanese people, Japanese School Children and Tourists about the Samurai plus there way of life. Japan is one of my favourite Countries with my own country plus Sweden and Cyprus. I have visited other countries and some countries I want to visit like New Zealand. My favourite city is Stockholm in Sweden which I absolutely love. I would also love to go to Aikita in Japan and bring my brother's dog which is an Akita called Suki, who is my best friend in the world.
