Fun fact: The tank they're driving in the music video is actually purchasable in World of Tanks, and it's named after one of their other songs, Primo Victoria. Comes with a custom skin and the band as unique crew members.

Excellent reaction. Sabaton actually play this game (there are videos on their channel showing them playing on tour and visiting World of Tanks and playing on the big screen) so this was a perfect melding of their war themed music and the video game. The tank battles were generated from the World of Tanks game, and the tank Sabaton used (a Swedish Strv K heavy tank) is available to play. The cellist is Tina Guo, who has played with Sabaton at Wacken and plays the outro music for "1916'. There is a 2.5 minute video showing the making of "Steel Commanders" that you might find interesting (see below for link, YuoTube being RU-vid). Stay well, look forward to more insightful reactions.

As you guessed this was a song in connection with the team who makes World of Tanks. They and Sabaton have worked together multiple times - like the song Bismarck. However, the song also relates not to just the history and evolution of tanks, from the MK1 that you see going across the trench lines (the first tank) to stuff like Sherman’s, IS152, Elephant, Panthers, Churchills and so many other tanks to list from WW2, and finally to the modern battle tank started by the Centurion Class created by the British. Today instead of having multiple classes of tank from Light, Medium and Heavy, we see a more all round Battle Tank like the Abrams, T-72, Challanger, Leopard II, Centurion, etc. - also reason the centurion is likely mentioned too is that it’s still Swedens primary battle tank with production right bought from the British after WW2. Also, the song relates tank commanders/crews to that of the modern knights. Knights in the past we’re heavily armoured infantry who could slug it out on foot before mounting up and charging down the enemy and either routing them, killing them or breaking them. They were also the primary unit to exploit a break in the lines by charging through. Now who does that in modern warfare? Tanks. Break the lines and charge on through - tho as we learned too, best supported by infantry at the same time or they get quite easily killed/overrun.

Sabaton does not take themselves too serious so the intro to this song was kind of funny in my opinion ( also Tommy ( one of the guitarists) going all Ricky Martin in one part of the song was amazing … that man loves his power metal .. when he doesn’t mash Sabaton lyrics with Disney songs that is 😂) I wonder what you would make of Joakims adventure with Babymetal (oh majinai) or Nanowar of steels “ Pasadena 1994” 😁 as I said in previous comment the band members are pretty down to earth and with a great sense of humor . They often have a ton of fun on stage .. with each other and with the audience ☺️

4 Months late but excellent reaction Gentlemen. I had the pleasure of being a Steel Commander between 2010 and 2015. I served as the Commander for a Beast they call Leopard 2A6M with two tours in Afghanistan for the Canadian Military.

Still, I would prefer you to react to the videos of Sabaton because of liking them and being interested in the band, than purely challenging the fans to become Patreons🤔😀 I do see a tiny evolution of showing more respect of their works as you progress into their catalogue. I did like the reaction of Jakob to the making of 1916. I like reactors who use their professional knowledge and perspective whilst reacting, so please more factual comments on how effects in the videos where made and a discussion on why to go with different choices out of an artistic perspective. You don't needn't always like a certain choice, but I'd like to hear a little more about the thought process in making that choice.
