A major World War I campaign on the Western Front, the Battle of Passchendaele took place from July 31 to November 10, 1917, between the Allied forces and the Germans in Flanders. They were fighting for control of the ridges south and east of Ypres. This battle accounted for over half a million deaths. I always have conflicting emotions when listening to Sabaton. On the one hand you can't resist moving your head but then you realise what they sing about and how sad it is...
I absolutely love, how Joakim screams on 2:33 - "Still no glory has been won". There is so much pain in these words already, but the way he sings it...

Every time I feel depressed and really not myself, I listen to Sabaton, and no matter what it always cheers me up. Thank you for being a thing Sabaton, you helped me through some things when nothing else could and I love you all for that!
Much too underrated song, awesome performance! you don't know how much I enjoy your music and I see you guys as my idols and as an inspiration for me to make a musician out of myself too... (and for learning swedish :D) I found you in 2012 when a friend showed me the Carolus Rex album, which came out a few days ago then. I was instantly hooked by the historical themed and melodic Songs. That was the moment where I really got into metal. Before that I just listened to Metallica, Judas Priest and Iron Maiden here and then without really caring about the metal scene itself. Now, six years later you are still my favorite Band of all time and I'm so glad that you exist and still make awesome songs. On your next Germany Tour I will come to one of your gigs, I promise that :D I just wanted to say that once, it came to my mind while watching your Swedish Empire Tour Blu-Ray. Please keep up your great work! -Greetings from Bremen, Germany
@@TheReichos I actually cant understand that. His energy output after the concert must be off charts. And they have a concert every third day. In my eyes that is unbelievable tempo.
We cry knowing that men died for our freedom, Cry because they choose to fight for it Cry because they didn't come home. For now, they will foreve rest. Side by side, Once enemies, now friends, All united under one flag: FREEDOM!
Sabaton we love you 😘 and i think this great song deserves to be played more often or even, getting a remasterised version as a bonus track from the next album (that we wait impatientlyyy)
This is one of the best songs I've ever heard. You can see that the fans loved it. Search blind guardians live Valhalla and the Bards Song. You'll be impressed by the crowd
Now all over again we are stuck in trenches we will march away and stand in the face of evildoers Ukraine fight to the last cannonball last bullets, last man Ukraine will be glorious you are heroic in everything you do.

The more I listen to Sabaton, the more I wonder why the fuck I didn't start listening to them 7-8 years ago, when I first heard their name. Better late than never, I guess.
Love my motherland Poland love all the Sanaton songs, but by far this is my best of the best Sanaton song!!! When I workout this song goes on and on .. Sending lots of 💚your way Sabaton ..keep rocking🙂
Guys do u though to create some song for bulgarian army? I suggest to be from medieval times maybe how we beat the latins or how in ww2 times we saved our jews from the holocaust. This is my suggestion. Thank you if you read this.
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rescue_of_the_Bulgarian_Jews en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bulgarian%E2%80%93Latin_wars If you need something more, i will be happy to help. And again thank you my only goal is to show to the world that Bulgaria is country with big potential and great history and yhea we have other great battles like in ww1 battle of Doiran where the Greeks and the British assaulting the positions of the Bulgarian First Army near Dojran Lake and at the end we repuls all attacks. If you want to read more en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Doiran_(1918).
You guys came to Winnipeg in 2017, and i loved every moment of your concert! Thank you for sharing your passion for history with us! I have learned so much from you guys, and I appreciate every moment of your music!
I think this song is a little bit different than the rest of Sabaton´s songs. The rest more or less commemmorate heroism. But this song mourns for meaningless waste of millions young lives for nothing. For few meters of a ground. If I go through EVERY, every village in my country there is always a war memorial with so many many names carved in stone. Sometimes it looks like every family in the village lost someone.
I have to learn for history competition about WW1 and WW2 in school. I rather listen to Sabaton. It is the best way for me to learn history. Thank you for doing this guys. Greetings from Slovakia
Can't wait to see you when you get the chance to tour NC again! I was at the Ritz in Raleigh. I was up in the stands wearing the red sweater. I love you guys.
It is 2020 now and you guys keep rocking better by the concert Even after quarantine Joakim sounded astonishingly good! Keep it up guys! Heavy Metal Will Never Die! Joakim is a legend and Pär, your actually my fave of the band, I love Joakim's voice and Pär, I love your voice too, it is so great and powerful! You can write very well too! Pär and Joakim are the best artists ever. Hope to go see you guys in concert in the Netherlands or Falun in a couple of years when im 18 or 19
I've seen them twice in a year. And godddam they never fail to put on a fantastic show. This was one of the first songs I heard. So it holds a special place in my heart. Keep on rocking!
My grand parents in the Second World War served in the Canadian Air Force, they were weather monitors making sure the weather was safe for planes to fly, and and my grandpas great great grandpa was a Prussian soldier.
"No Man's Land"- a mile of ground between the Allied and Central Powers' front line in WWI. Each side would try to advance in a charge, but between the newly developed Vicars machine gun and mortar fire (with the occasional chemical attack-this was Pre-Geneva convention warfare) from both side neither side could get the advantage
This is an absolutely amazing song, like all of Sabaton's music. Pulls so many emotions, it's truly beautiful. I look forward to finally seeing you guys live at Louder Than Life this year, and I hope that The Price of a Mile is on the setlist! 🤘
