The point of balance should be further forward on a cut oriented one hander (like a real sabre). This makes it roll, which is what allows you to maintain the momentum of the weapon. Of course, canonically the blade would be weightless, but speaking as someone who practices European martial arts and spars with steel, I'd much prefer a sparring weapon like this (heavy, sturdy, with a PoB a few inches from the guard).

The ultrasaber lighting is more even, but the saberforge saber sound is ten times better from what I'm seeing in this video.

From the demo in the Saber forge vid I'd use the Mid-grade blade for show (Better lighting feature) & light demos & the V4 for hard combat - as that's what it's designed for & is stronger than the others at full contact. (The others dented & broke against the V4.) Also it may be possible to put a bit of reflective material in the tip of the V4 to increase light capability & even it out. As for the weight imbalance - you could probably put a couple of fixtures inside the pommel & click in a small steel rod to balance it out. As a steel swordsman I've had to increase pommel weight re unbalanced swords on occasion. Lead works as well but this looks like a steel job. Just a thought. Cheers for sharing. Have fun & enjoy.

That's an interesting review. It's funny, though, because when you put those two swords side by side the Bellecose (sp?) really looks more like a toy compared to the Acolyte. The blade thing is an interesting point as that might be somewhat subjective depending on how you intend to use the saber. For me, I use my sabers in heavy dueling and I found that the ultrasabers blades would frequently lose their tips and even cracked in one situation whereas I've never had that problem with the V3 or the V4 from saberforge. I would agree with you about the lighting differences between the two and if I were mostly going to be using the blade for show or light choreography then I'd go with the ultrasabers blade. The good thing about both is that blades are cheap (comparatively) so you can get several from both and even other types to try out from other companies.

Don't forget saberforge has a 1 year warranty and i haven't heard about that from ultrsabers. If you want to hit eachother with the saberforge they will fix your broken saber under a year. Not with ultrsabers though.

why not just get another blade like the one from your ultra sabers lightsaber and put it on the acolyte champion hilt? clearly the v4 infinity edge blade has problems with even light distribution due to the lack of a mirror.

Hello, great review! I've read in the video description you have ordered the saber 30th January and it arrived 2nd March the last year. I wanna ask you if you know how long it takes now to get the order made and shipped or if you have had some problem with saber forge, because I ordered my 2 sabers on 27th January and I don't know anything about them. I've mailed saberforge and they told me didn't told me anything and said me not to be worried , but I am considering that when I get my order done the time lapse was of 6-8 weeks (now it's 8-10 weeks) + 10 days for shipping and this week is the 11th. Moreover I'm not from the USA, I'm in Spain and this distance doesn't help. In my orders' info my sabers are "confirmed". Could you tell me if this change when they ship it or if saberforge notify when they ship the product? Thanks so much, it's the first time I order something there and it's a little irritating knowing absolutely nothing, I don't know who I could ask yet... :/

Is it possible to glue a circle shaped mirror under the tip? If it is possible I want to do that, because the blade with the mirror from ultrasabers looks much better…
