I started playing at the age of 12, I'm 56 now. I've been playing Sabian's since 1983. I purchesed a 22'' AA ride, a 18'' AA crash, 14'' AA crash and 14'' AA htas. still using all of these to this day. live situations and studio. Almost every type of music you can think of, from Jazz to Funk, Metal to Country. My Sabian's have bees so versital in all the different styles. I've added many more to my set up, HH's AAX's, china, crashes and splashes. could not be happier. Sabian all the way.
Bravo!!! The strongest point made here is the fact of the high- hat and ride being critical. That is something all of us drummers instinctively know, but its a good idea to point it out to people new to drumming.
Everyone loves the Groove Hats, even Mike Portnoy adopted the 13" hats on his right kit side, and side project kits to. I personally want some 15"s. Kills in rock/metal and blues/ funk
i have many sabian cymbals but i would use paiste or zildjian or other just need to hear them . i bought mine at brents music head quarters in fort myres fl it was a carmine appice drum clinic and sabians were 1/2 off retail so i loaded up
Amen Zoro! I've been using HHX power hats and HHX power ride for the last 8yrs. and will be a Sabian player for life. When I went for a cymbal over-haul 8 yrs. ago I tried every brand at 5 different music stores. The goal was to make an unbiased choice and pick the co. that could make me happy w/ a ride, hats, and crashes, no mixing of brands. Sabian won hands down! I play a 20" HHX power ride,14"HHX power hats , AA med. thin 18" crash, AAXplosion 18" crash, and 16" AAX stage crash.
I have a 16 "Sabian thin crash, that which i really like. I always have it on my kit, it has a soft feel to it. So when i play soft, ballads or something. I can go soft :)
Check out the B8 Pro series (not the B8's; they sound terrible) I was really impressed with their sound. I used them with my Paiste 2002's and they didn't sound out of place which really surprised me
Love, love, love the cymbals. But Zoro makes me feel weird about the human race as a whole. I think it’s the fedora/bandanna combo. In fact I know it is.
I discovered the B8 Pro's when I was in the market for a 2002 17" crash, and discovered that I could get 16" and an 18" B8 Pro for less than the 17", so I decided to give them a try, and was genuinely surprised at their quality, especially since the B8's are some of the worst cymbals I've ever heard. If you're looking for good at an affordable price, B8 Pro's are a good bet, or Paiste Alpha series for a bit more. I don't like any of Zildjian's low end stuff, but they sure sell plenty of them...
I don't get why people say that... I have a seven b8 cymbals and they sound professional. I mean, I like them better than sabian top brand, I wouldn't dare trade my b8's for anything. well, besides my china, I'd get a holy china but holy because Chad is my idol.
b8's are shit, b8 pros are awesome i have xs20s and they are pretty good way better than b8's but when i can afford it ill be buying aaxs and the holy china, the holy china is fucking hectic, best china out
