I was so surprised when I saw her at the Ring. I said "Sabine?", she says "Yah!", and we took a picture together! She's a really cool gal, cheerful, funny. I'd only seen her on the old Top Gear, and she's just as charming in person.
Not only going sideways over crests, but just watching the front wheels constantly turning in the wrong direction as you were 'playing' with the steering to frighten the passengers! A masterpiece of driving. The GT3 had to be driven hard to keep up! A wonderful human being, always laughing, always having the passion to win at everything you did. RIP Sabine, the Queen of the Ring.
@@fkykas errr.... He is constantly hitting the rev limiter. Go and see an ear specialist! And no looks about it, she would of left him, if no bikes about. She holds several fastest lap records for a reason!!
@@andyview1782 he lets of the accelerator many times just to slow down. Hey I am not doubting her skill. But Gt3 porsche is just way way faster than the M5 in the ring.
@@fkykas BMW M5 E39 laps around 8.15 with Sabine driving. A good driver in a 996, will do somewhere 8.10 - 8.15. Racing driver has done an 8.03 but that's a pro driver. And remember 8.15 is with 4 up!! Don't underestimate the M5. Only upgrade on that car are Pagid performance pads.
I lost my both mother and father to cancer... my mom was 48 when she died. Had the same feelings when I heard Sabine... she was so much talented and funny as hell rest in peace Sabine...

Sorry to hear of your loss Bro. I lost my Mum to lung cancer 21 months ago at 69, 19 months ago my Dad discovered lumps on his head, diagnosed with a rare skin cancer a few months later. He’s battling on with chemo. It’s sad to see so many good people suffer from this modern plague. Thoughts go out to Sabines family and friends.
@psyjager You might have quoted something about the current RingTaxi, but the car Sabine is driving in the video is the much older RingTaxi which was a 400hp E39 M5 (5.0L V8 normally aspirated RWD).
I really should write! Sabine no comment! but having followed her and I have a father as a rally driver! -I know her metal, not mild steel -pure titanium, she literally as a driver, owns this circuit! and more importantly, if you have ever driven hard and fast on any circuit, it's not at all easy to be an ultimate master as she clearly demonstrates, this is a time-served driver! pure talent and exhibitionist when it suits steps the rear out plays to the camera, its a skill long earned and beautifully displayed in raw knowledge of each turn and twist around a myriad of bends dips and straights! It's an art, and displayed here in its purest form! A proper racer doing their office job! sublime !!!!

I sure as hell love driving my E39, best car I've driven so far. The way it travels so effortlessly, it's just so good. Not to mention when you drive the freeway, and some idiot won't let you pass, you can just give a light dap on the speeder and it's there, ready to roll past him.
She made everyone else on the track look like Sunday drivers! God must have wanted her to drive in the great Nurburgring in heaven. I picture her smiling in her M5 racing high above.
This was sabine at her best.fooling her "guests" into thinking she wasn't in full control,throwing the car in late,messing the lines up....all with that famous big smile.in truth that gt3 would have been dusted and distant in her mirrors if she wished.rest in peace angel.
Tour guide on the coach - On zee left ve ave the local taxi driver passing zee race bikes. It was brilliant how Sabine showed the GT3 and that last biker both sides of the e39 and when it was clear the biker wasn't using his mirrors she gave her passengers a rollercoaster ride over the kerbs - good value.
Her driving was impeccable it really was, it's not until you actually get behind someone who can drive like this you realise how fast they actually go 😂 RIP special lady.🙏🏼

Seeing Sabine from that vantage point is amazing. Can imagine her laughs and telling people to get out of her way. Hearing the Porsche’s engine at high revolutions for that long is really cool too.
The definition of dancing a car round a racetrack. Proper finding the limit then getting an extra 5% out of the car! Wish I'd been able to get a ringtaxi passenger ride with her back when she was doing those. Grateful we have all the videos online of her driving to enjoy, the race onboard where she annihilates almost all of the field in one Nords lap is still one of my all time favourites.

wiredsk8r Porsche is a pure track day car with stripped interior and it is very lightweight, lots of aero and almost same horsepower as the bmw, and it looked to me like porsche was clearly faster only in the slower corners. Pretty incredible what she can do with a loaded family sedan
I think we can all agree Sabine was the best female racing driver ever! In addition she was always smiling or laughing, I wish we could have more people like her RIP Sabine you're the greatest.
You're right, she was fun-loving but razor-sharp on the racetrack!But for me her overtaking maneuvers are somewhere between absolute crazyness and ice-cold conviction!
If I'm not mistaken there is the video of inside Sabines car for this run and I think that's EXACTLY what she kept saying...I gotta look that one up because I'm almost positive I saw it from her p.o.v. way b4 seeing this one today.
This man would have been a fool to try to pass Sabine for a good long while. Following the Queen around the 'Ring in a car fast enough to reliably keep up, learning her lines and techniques hands-on? That's a dream come true. All well and good that the 911 could clearly have passed that BMW a couple times in the first six minutes, why the hell would he WANT to?
Very sad to learn Sabine passed away at too young an age. Wonderfully talented, will never have the opportunity to ride the 'Ring Taxi with you now. Sadly missed, RIP lovely lady.
Wow a few bikes held things up, but the guy at the end! Only thing he had was acceleration after a corner. Anyways awesome to see how aggressive Sabina drove, Queen of Nuremberg!

It's only open-wheelers that can keep up with superbikes on any track when ridden by riders that can actually ride. It takes balls to ride a bike quickly but any twat can get in a car and jam the throttle to the floor.
@@karlwalters3763 your numbers are wrong. Jorge Lorenzo has the track record of 127.899 on a MotoGP bike. Scott McLaughlin has the Porsche Cup record at 131.1343 according to Wikipedia. On courses where bikes are closer to car lap times, it's always because there are steep uphills out of slower turns, really long straightaways where downforce slows the top speed of cars, or long radius turns especially ones that open on exit. As for skill, MotoGP riders and F1 drivers are a dead heat.
@@2003wrx64 The record for the nordschleife with Motorcycle is by Hellmut Dähne from 1993. 7 min 50sec. Only real sportscars with good drivers get that fast. Only few are faster. Racing cars or prototypes. To get that time with a motorcycle you need a wheelbarrow for your balls.
The bike rider in the last section was well quick enough to stay on the line, if Sabine had been able to get around him you know she would have. Great video 👍👍
Message to anyone (not just motorcyclists) on the Nurburgring. If you see Sabine Schmitz in your wing mirrors, get out of the bloody way. She knows this track better than her own anatomy, and could probably see off several F1 drivers in a race around it. No you can NOT drive round this circuit better than her, and you never will.
Calilasseia Fact is that the rules (in short) are that you have make sure nobody is at danger thanks to your lousy driving. Sabine knows and would never drive like this!.
The problem is that with Track Bikes we don't have any mirror !!!!! never !! So we don't see when someone is overtaking wheras with a car you see it coming so you can let it go. On the track with a bike, it's the one who overtake who has to do it safe. We never look behind.
