I love the videos and the event coverage. Thank you for doing all this, but I must be honest, I feel like the commentaries are sometimes not great. The "huh, I would've done this instead" or "he made a mistake there" are not really cool for the players and are in most instances wrong. We got some amazing players with a clear and strong gameplan in mind, I don't feel like we can judge an action they make without a direct access to their reasoning. I don't mean to be hostile and I really appreciate the work you are doing!
I would say just give them some grace. They’re learning like many others for this new game. I watched the entire stream and a lot of their best commentary came from reading chat, which I can respect. They did their best and used the knowledge of chat to correct themselves.
After rewatching, I agree that they fundamentally did not fully understand the matchup. I faced Frank round 6 of a 1k and won with almost the same Palpatine deck. A lot of their takes were just them doing their best man…
To add to coverage constructive criticism because I really love this game and want to see it grow, it would be great to have base damage somewhere on the screen so it's easier to track. Seems like there is some free space at the bottom of the screen to add it in. Thanks to event organizers, keep up the great work!
So every time frank uses Sabine’s damage base ability I see him write it down and always forgets to add the one damage to his own base, anyone else spot that mistake?
@@snipsnapification Nick is the one that said to put the 4 dmg on sabine, distracting me while I was writing life totals. Then as soon as we caught the mistake, I offered to back up and redo the turn. He talked through it and he concluded the mistake was insignificant and wouldn't have changed the outcome of game 1.
As a Palp main myself I was definitely hoping Nick would take the match, but this heal 3 doesn’t make sense to me here. If this was a mistake then by all means he should’ve lost game 3 because he went up to 28 base damage later.
I rewatched the life total changes starting before the Sabine flip and couldn’t find a mistake. Maybe the judge or Frank made a mistake about life totals? We can see Frank gesture to take even the third one off.

I messed up and didn't write down the 3 from For a Cause I believe in, and incorrectly told him that his life total damage was only at 16 not 19 so he adjusted it when I said to.
To be fair the control player generally has one card the are able to play and it revolves around getting rid of a threat. The aggro player has multiple plays in a turn and has to figure out which non present threats to avoid
@@CorndogSTEVE99 agree with you here, aggro I feel like has to constantly calculate the line that gets in the most base damage from the very start of the game. You could say control also has a linear gameplan, “see a threat, delete a threat”. And this is coming from a control player myself.
@RedShoxYT also, the commentators were often wrong about who we are waiting on. I was often waiting on Nicknto take initiative so I could do three or more things quickly.
IMO as the proactive player you’re setting the tone, picking the lines your opponent has to deal with. Definitely a lot to think about. Anyone playing aggro by just slamming and turning sideways is probably not having great results.
i like the games but the life keeping is horrible the papa player removes damage counters randomly and the sabine player can’t be bothered to track his own life smh
