Sabrina Carpenter performs a cover of 'Good Luck, Babe!' by Chappell Roan in the Live Lounge, live from the BBC's legendary Maida Vale Studios vevo.ly/C06lQt
SITTING DOWN???? THE LITTLE CHANGES TO THE MELODY????? she made it look so effortless. and it’s GORGEOUS. i’m screaming over this cover. she DEVOURED it
I'm not a huge fan of most of her popular songs and I was JUST thinking how much I'd love for her to sing a song like this and this shows me how angelic she is. Something about this song compared to expresso brings me to tears, she sounds like an ANGEL. I wish she'd sing more songs like this, her range here is so incredible compared to what I've heard in some of her other songs.
@@Strawbb111you should listen to love feels like loneliness on the honda stage, its one of her older songs but her voice is incredible in there as well :)
I'm a 71 year old "boomer" who refuses to live in the past like a lot of folks of my generation. I "discovered" Chappell Roan earlier this year and she's become my new favorite singer. My Spotify app recommended Sabrina Carpenter, and I've been listening to her a lot as well. When I hear good music, I cry. I do that a lot when listening to Chappell, and just now, after listening to this cover by Sabrina, I'm gushing with tears. Those who cannot embrace young artists such as Sabrina or who do not search out new music are aging lost useless dinosaurs. Listening to Sabrina and Chappell make me feel like I'm forever young. Good Luck, BABES!
Switching between her head and chest voice so effortlessly is seriously impressive. Her transition between her belt, head voice, and mix are just beautiful. Her control is amazing and she is sitting down
Actually I came here not to misjudge her by her product, maybe after she will go for some other material showing her vocal quality more, but now it’s her time to sell…
The way she effortlessly sings this the way she does while still checking the lyrics is WILD wow. Props to her, I didn't realize she was as good of a singer as she is.
This collective surge of Chappell Roan, Sabrina Carpenter, and Olivia Rodrigo has felt very much like girls are taking over the world and I love it so much
I love how different the energy is. She didn't just try to do what Chappell Roan was doing. I really like it! I love both of them, this is such a wonderful cover
@@sleepteam if not insane, it's still harder. it's harder to relax the abdominal walls when sitting down and that makes breathing while singing more difficult.
Hope so cuz their both on island records (chappells Amusement Records is under an Exclusive Contract with Island) So it's highly plausible they'll collab! @@maurice1263
I feel guilty saying this is better than the original because I do like Chappell. But Sabrina's version just scratches something in my brain the right way
I think it’s different I don’t really think it’s better at all, but it’s really great and it’s own right. There are equal to me. I think I would still replay the original more, but this is really good.
I don't think Sabrina even remotely knows how iconic, beautiful, magnificent, ground quaking and marvellous this is. The switch ups, energy, vocal perfection, outfit, the lipstick print on the drum, heart on the microphone, "You're standing face to face with...", "I told you so", heels, bangs, makeup, everything. Wow. Thank you
@@finslawoh Chappell’s original version is untouchable to me, which is part of why I’m so happy Sabrina did her own thing with the song. Like they’re such different interpretations of the song, and this version still works damn well
✝️ LORD JESUS DIED & ROSE AGAIN TO FREE YOU FROM SIN! ✅By Faith in the sacrifice God has made are we saved from the penalty of our sin! ↪️Turn from your sin that leads to death & accept His Gift that leads to eternal Life! 💟God proves His Love for us in that while we were still sinners Christ died for us! (Romans 5:8)
@@sophiadear12exactly, its also generally stupid, why do we as a culture think we have any right to judge the decisions these women make in their love lives? we don’t know them or the situation, it’s not our business, stop prying into their lives and judging them on the little information you have
THEY'RE MAKING CHAPPELL COVERS NOW??? Our girl finally made it after all these years 😭🙏 Edit: yeah, Sabrina deserves her praise too. My biggest flex in life is being able to say I listened to both these women before they blew up 😤
Im blown away by Sabrina's execution of this song! There is a lot going on here. The nuances and the huge vocal range give the song so much character. It's currently my fav song. The radio version is good with its cool 80's retro vibes , but this is just f awesome!!
I wouldn't categorize them fully as country but she has songs where she employs a similar twang/that have a country-esque vibe on emails i can't send like already over, lonesome, bet u wanna, bad for business, etc.!
Finally Sabrina showing off her actual vocal skill + CHAPPELL X SABRINA IS A CROSSOVER THAT HAS LEFT ME SHOCKED TO MY CORE. Now Chappell just needs to do Espresso.
this video turned me into a Sabrina stan. I knew she could sing but goddamn she wasn't pitchy once and this is such a hard song to sing, so freakin impressive
The build up to the "I told you so" at 2:45 is a good reason to be alive. To be able to hear this and feel it. This is an amazing and absolutely one of a kind cover.
She sounds good with this kind of music. She’s becoming popular and I have to admit I didn’t hear any of her music until her last 3 singles. New fan here.
compared to chappell's in the actual song i would consider this a dodge as well, she didnt go full belt or do the run afterwards, but still more impressive than 90% of other singers now ☺️
OH MY GODDDD this is iconic. as a lesbian (who is absolutely in love with sabrina and chappell) im so happy chappell is getting recognition like this. i love that they’re friends too and planned this together, so cute i love them both ❤️❤️
@@Foxesm84lifei watched this as it was live and before she performed it she said something along the lines of her and chappell talked about what she was gonna sing on here or like that she knew it was happening i can’t remember exactly
Okay, are you kidding me? Her belt mix is ridiculous. The most sublime statement I have ever heard in my LIFE is "I told you so." Our daughter has received classical training.
@@boxcowfish They weren't saying anything about it being the most technically impressive thing on the planet... they just said it was effortless. It sounds really beautiful, a full belt wouldn't fit this rendition of the song's style like it does Chappell's. It would feel out of place.
The new era of pop is crazy right now, Chappell Roan is must-listen and Olivia Rodrigo's records are produced by the same person (Dan Nigro) and they're really good too.
you should check out sabrina's first song association video, she sings a lot of rnb and jazz and talks about her interest in eventually making a jazz toned album. can't wait for the day personally
So true. Her covers on her EICS Tour were iconic! Everything from Carole King and Carly Simon to Fleetwood Mac and even Grouplove! Wow….what a superstar!
i wasn't sure what i was gonna witness when i clicked on this but i can now confirm that i witnessed AN ARTIST give her ARTISTIC take on AN ARTIST'S work. it was perfect.
IM SCREAMING,,,, THE HIGH NOTE??? smth about this cover sounds so bitter, while chappells sounds angry and sad (in my opinion) this one sounds almost bitter and regretful and i adore it. i love how covers always make the song their own story
@@naboolio8442 I just feel like she would take a personal offense to it (because she’s Dolly’s goddaughter haha) you said bump into her though do you live in L.A. or something? 🙀
I'm not joking when I say that I've spent the last 6 HOURS with this on REPEAT while studying for my exam, ITS SO DAMN GOOD!!!!! Edit: I have two more and will be listening the entire time lol Edit 1: One more left and still listening Edit 2: FINALLY DONE....... and still listening
Her voice scratches an itch in my brain I never thought I needed. Absolutely beautiful, she has an incredibile voice and range. So happy she is getting the recognition she deserves now.
It's weird my Spotify recommended good luck babe and I've been listening to it ever since - don't like her other songs that much but this one fits my vibe
Mindblowing and beautiful how she goes from an angelic whisper to belting out the next lyrics while still sounding like it all flows together so naturally.
