I think this presentation needs some corrections: Slovakia has the history of leadership and resiliency. It all started with Samo empire being in existence 623- 658 AD and further transforming into Great Moravia empire. For nearly 800 years Slovakia became part of the Habsburg empire. Only the last 50 years from 1848 it was Austro-Hungarian empire. So Hungary ruled Slovaks only for 50 years. It was never a Hungarian Kingdom. Slovakia also created its own official language during that period under the leadership of Ludovit Stur. Also during the second world war, Slovakia was an independent country for 7 years. Lastly since 1993 Slovakia is an independent country for the third time in the history.
